There's a very vocal portion of FFXIV players who try to accuse people of hating women if they ever criticise someone who happens to be a woman. This extends to fictional characters as well - such as people who dislike Venat being accused of 'hating women' despite that not being the case at all.
In other words, it's just a blatant example of trying to poison the well.
They literally called Zepla a "booby streamer", as in a streamer that only gets attention because of her body. Which is not her case at all, she is always using normal t-shirts all of the time.
So if she doesn't show cleavage at all, why is she a "booby streamer"? It seems to me that you are arguing in bad faith here.
People can have an opinion, you don't need to white knight for her. She'll prob end up reading this thread eventually and use it for a video for easy clicks anyway. She can speak for herself if she really wants to.
Not saying I agree or disagree with said person's opinion, all I know of her is that she makes videos based off threads on here and I call that a lazy way of making content. My opinion which I am allowed to have.
I don't think anyone here, in this thread is simping. I commented cause it stroke me pretty odd to call her a booby streamer when it doesn't seem the case.
So it seemed like insulting someone for the sake of insulting. But as I said earlier, I have limited exposure to her content so I could be in the wrong.
If you don't like her content, that's fine but that doesn't mean she's a booby streamer?
There's a stereotype amongst female streamers that most have acquired fame because of their appearance or simply being a girl and having a particularly obsessive male audience. I'm assuming that was the meaning behind it unless Zepla has an OnlyFans or some other platform for that type of content that no one is talking about yet. I honestly wouldn't be shocked considering the growing amount of streamers/youtubers that are getting an account there.
Do you think I hold any power to silence you or anyone here? Am I not allowed to have the opinion that calling a pretty PG 13 content creator a "booby streamer" sounds very focused on her gender to say the least?
I'm also not a fan of her content, it's not for me, but that's not the point. You can dislike whoever, why'd I care?
And wouldn't you call that... a sexist stereotype? I don't think it's fair to hold anyone to a stereotype.
Speaking of stereotypes, I must be a introvert who hate socialise and meet people cause I work in IT and be a guy.
