Alts. How many do you have and what do you do with them?

I have 3 alts and 4 total characters.

I have 7 alts and I use them to dye non soulbound gear using gold feathers. Mail the gear to the alt dye it then mail it back. Thankfully I was able to add them to my friends list during that brief window.

I have several.

Alt 1 - created in the content drought at end of stormblood to replay the story(before NG+). Still use it to play the newer story again. Usually 8-9 months behind my main in content.
Alt 2 - My 1.0 character. This has the tatoo and other 1.0 goodies. When 2.0 came out, friends wanted to play on a new server. Since I couldn't transfer my 1.0 character off a legacy server at the time, I rolled a new character that is now my main.
Alt 3 - Character on EU datacenter. Don't play often, but came in handy last December when NA was congested. I was able to log into EU no problem.
Alt 4 - Character on Japan datacenter. There was a time back in 2.0 where NA/Japan maintenance was separate for smaller maint windows. The work schedule I had at the time, I would get home right when NA maint started. I created a character on Japan datacenter to play. They don't do separate maint anymore, haven't touched this one in a while.

A bunch of single use characters on various servers. Mostly to check out a server for some reason. Most common reason to check out a cool housing design someone posted about. This was before cross world visit was thing. I should really delete these at some point.

I have quite alot of gold feather on alts and probably will use them to dye glamour gear :)

I have around 8-10 alts, 4-5 of them which are at end game EW. I use them to roleplay and have different dolls I can dress up. Yes, I've bought a story boost for just about all of them, though I never via dungeons and whatnot.

I have alts on various datacenters. That way if a DC is having issues I can still play on a different one.

had two when i started a long time ago one English server and one Japanese server later dropped one.

I have a male alt, which i dont enjoy much due how boring some male glams look like.

I have two shell fc alts for helping my big fc with their gil and crafting events.

And i have 2 other alts, one in ShB a midlander, and an Au'ra that sates my dragongirl addiction.

My main is this, and i'd rather play several characters instead of having to fantasia when i wanna try different stuff.
