These F2P games are a damning indictment of just how bad some of humanity is. Willing to throw money at low quality games for a dopamine hit.

OP fits into that category that perpetuate unethical and greedy businesses practices. Whilst businesses need to make a profit or at least break even, the only intention these businesses have is of getting rich(er) quick. Not to produce a high quality game and community surrounding it. This is why a lot of indie games have taken off over the last few years as they are made by passionate devs who just want to realise their dream game and entertain people. Some of them flop, some of them do incredibly well.

Tbh the "to support the company/game" argument when it come to squeenix always felt weird to me, if i spend money it's to get something i want in return, there is no ideology or emotion toward the company behind that.

Now sure i would love to see everything being available through gameplay, is it realistic though ? I don't think so : why investing ressources in something and make it available in game when you can charge extra money for it ? A good chunk of those item probably wouldn't even exist if it weren't for the cash shop.

And spare me all those sophism about that disgusting pile of shit that is Diablo immortal, the majority of the con arguments i have read so far are either non constructive condescending bs, off topic or from people with some strange doom prophecy complex. At this point, just ask Square Enix if you can setup a direct debit into their shareholder's bank accounts. Just cut out the middle man of more micro transactions.

Unfortunately the FFXIV mod community is already doing this. They are selling all this custum stuff on patreons and making a career of it. Which is also promoting other mods to go paywall.

Its been on going for years. Its actually their lack of action that has people getting in on it more and more everyday. Also if SE did something about it, the game community wouldn't sit quietly about it when RMT bots and other things are running rampant.
