I don't think the WoW devs get it that it's been over for a long time. They didn't change when people were unhappy. They didn't change when the game was dying. They didn't change when it died. Now, when it's long dead and they have a lawsuit on their hands, they're suddenly trying to pull things back. I don't mean dead as in servers shut down, it's obviously still a functioning mmo, but it's more an empty shell that is in gradual decline.
Right now, even if they make some right moves, they'll receive negative feedback. Like their recent community council, nice idea but no one's buying it. I've never seen a company where players just straight up hate the developers so much. That attitude of arrogance has bred a lot of deep resentment.
Some of their customers have moved over to competing products for years now. You can't pull back those players. There's no fixing WoW, it's far too late, they should have listened years ago.
