Why do some people seem personally offended by people who have more than 1 character?

Anecdotal but I post on alts cause I did end up leaving the game after joining around 2017 because I had people come after myself and my FC at the time due to some of things I said on the forums.

So I am sure if you piss people off enough people will go after someone.

That happen to wife and I a long time ago back during heavenward days. When the game GMS was much slower on the uptake of toxic stuff.


So it does happen for sure. You not alone in that. In fact, they got LS members to stalk and harass. At first did not care, but one of them was in a LS i was in with some real life friends, and found out wife info and ugh what a nightmare. In all the mmorpgs I played, never had such a issue that people take it that far. So this community does have a nasty side that is coming to light more and more. It just took years for people to see and accept it.

(1) Savage Lockouts. I raid with my raid group, and i help friends pug the raids after. I use alts to do this.
(2) Leve quest turn ins. Im limited to 6 a day, so i upped it to 24 a day with alts.
(3) sometimes do 1st time poetic bonus for some content for friends to get them extra tomes quickly.
(4) play on other data centers (used to be different servers)
(5) I have to be Aura to play DRG. no exceptions.

Offended? Nah, you do you. I just don't really see the point of alts.

One of the main selling points to me of this game is the ability to level every single job on a single character. Keep all achieves on a single character.

I couldn't imagine doing that all over again.

I enjoy making my OC's in FFXIV. I have alot of OC's.

I have alts to save my looks in case i loose the saved ones I have.

I don't care if someone has an alt. I'll ask why just because it's not that common in this game. I will say that if someone has alts to play with friends on different servers; I would rather just transfer servers. I'd rather not have someone need to play a completely separate character just to play with me.

I love playing alts because of the experience of leveling up + playing a new race to me + MSQ rewards. But also I only do it with the buff "The Road to 70", otherwise, it takes too long.

Create 40 Alts to see all the different races in it's Glorious Glamours and Vanity! Is that a bad thing fam?

I'd like it for variety...
My bard would be a f. Miqo'te
For DRK I'd either do a M. Human or Aura;
A Hrothgar warrior....
Just deepening the fantasy... no other reason.
