Your character will be gimped to a rather ridiculous degree w/o access to the WHM abilities, to the point that you will not be able to do your job properly.

RP is nice and all, I myself tuned out the official WHM story because Ifalna was born with the innate ability to use magic and has been in the druids guild since childhood until they had a falling out due to her rather unorthodox use of magic. She only made contact again recently after El-Bahamut wrecked some stuff in order to offer her knowledge to help heal the realm.

I would never go so far as to gimp her because of some RP grudge. O_o

OP, you are either a really really bad RP-er who doesn't care in the slightest about creating a backstory for your character that makes sense with regard to the world he lives in. Or you're just doing this because you think it's funny to watch people go OMG on the forums. I'm not sure which of those is worse for you, quite honestly

Not really. It is just that the page the OP was looking at is talking about ARR - not including any changes made in the subsequent expansions. So that page is several years out of date by now.

as long as you don't do any party content in endgame seriously then RP as a conjurer all you want. but any grouping up you better have that stone on.

This is really, really out of date. That hasn't been true since mid-HW when SE started butchering cross-role skills. Classes used to be able to cross-role a ton of skills, mostly buffs, from any job within their "role" (melee including tanks, ranged with all ranged jobs including physical skills on casters). That hasn't been true for a very long time, however.

To answer your OP, you won't be able to play as a Conjurer in any real content, no. You might be able to barely manage to scrape by on spamming heals, but odds are you'll just end up out of MP after one or two pulls in any high-level content. You'll be missing a lot of gear and stat bonuses from not having a job, on top of no access to virtually every skill that makes the class playable.

i mean, you can get it an take it off when you wanna roleplay i guess.
