Must everything be turned into some "lack of LGBT representation" war out of nothing?

I got something for ya. Why didn't Yoshi mention a black woman on a black female character or a black man on a black male character and interactions with Lyse who is a white character. O-M-G he clearly doesn't care! O-M-G there are only 2 black characters in the game like 2 black hairstyles. We need more representation!!! *RIOT*

JP culture isn't like the US or Canada, the endless gender debates are not really a thing in most other countries, so don't be surprised if Japanese devs aren't talking about gay/lesbian relationships all the time. A lot of the inclusionist dialog in game is done by the English localization team, because that's their job, to adapt the game to US culture, but I wouldn't be surprised if the gay NPCs aren't gay at all in JP dialog or are just lowered to low key flirtation.

Side note, the LGBT representation you'd get in a Korean game would be close to zero just because of how Korean culture works, so I think we should be grateful that despite JP culture not being as open as the US our devs are very flexible with these stuffs, they acknowledge things are different in the US and make it work for us.

@OP you should rename your post tittle i was disapointed when i compared your title and what Yoshi says in his interview :p

He tried to give a few examples to illiterate his thoughts on the matter, like most people would do in a conversation. He was not obligated to sit there and talk about every possible combination. The answer was as long as it needed to be and short in comparison to how long it -would- have been if he made sure to address every combination of every orientation group possible, and that response would have taken a very, very long time.

First thing, oh okay.

Second thing, still does not explain why they said "males or females that play female chrs" and just saying "Male that play male chrs" How does that relate to Japanese culture? That is not "Making a problem out of nothing. Sheesh " that is wondering why it was said like that. The only "mountain out of molehills" I see is people attacking others that are wondering about that. You can also make the point without stating someone's RL gender (the player, playing) I just find it really strange it was worded like that.

Again, when you're going from English to Japanese then back again and then on top of that dealing with the cultural difference between Japan and the West you're going to end up with wordings and expressions that don't always seem normal.... "All your base are belong to us."

I think the most important thing to consider is Lalafell representation.

It was quite clear that Pipin and other prominent Lalafell characters should have had a more prominent role throughout the storyline :^)
