BLU for sure. They can main hand magic and offhand scimitars/scythes to play off red mages. Instead of dealing damage to gain red mana, they absorb damage with their spells to gain blue mana which they use to summon enemy's like stands to perform famous attacks (e.g. bad breath, final sting, etc.) Alternatively, they summon, use exclusively void type enemies.They can have different wards(stances) to better defend and absorb different attacks from certain enemy types. They could evem have a spell that lets them eat an aoe and return the damage.
Also, their spells should scale off vit or strength, because that's none of the tank gear has int. They could justify it lore wise by saying they're drawing from their lifeforce or something.
I just really want my all mage party comp.

A Judge class using cards to apply crowd control would be neat.
I switched to a RUN main in XI and I have to say I've never had so much fun tanking in any game. Tanking in general is more fun and rewarding in that game in that you're not just a DPS with defensive CDs and hate isn't just handed to you.
That being said, I think it would be hard to make it a tank in this game with DRK already in place. They're basically the same thing except that RUN was more of a magic/resist tank, and statuses pretty much don't exist in this game compared to XI. Furthermore, it doesn't really make sense that a "Fencer" would use anything but a sword, so it would be pretty redundant already.
It might work as a DPS, but I don't see it bringing enough uniqueness to this game.
I have to admit, as much as I want a heavy cannon tank, I agree that this would be hilarious. So hilarious in fact, that I could actually seeing it be pretty popular. I support this idea. lolQuote:

I think I got most of the jobs that exist in FF canon (aside form ones in game already). Only ones that really lend themselves well to tanking would be berserker, beastmaster, knight, soldier, mime, dancer, blue mage. Personally I think Dancer as a tank would be pretty nice, not sure how they would build their kit though without being incredibly OP or terrible. Perhaps focus around the parry mechanic the way PLD centers around blocking.

I wish we would have a Hammer wielding tank as our next tank, probably like the one we found in Garlemald
can either the story evolve into making an uneasy alliance with Garlemald for the greater threat or simply someone/ group of Garleans flee from the empire
A blunt dmg tank will give a fresh start of having only slash dmg tank, also benefit MNK who the only job that current share same type of dmg
