Quite the opposite for me. I cringe when people release their negative "opinions" about another person's spreadsheets that show factual calculations aimed to enrich the community's knowledge on a certain mechanic or job dynamic. wow if this is true it makes me rage so hard. fortunately i dont have to deal with random groups as my guild is doing everything together. how can people even exclude any class in this game. it is such an easy game atm and every damn class can clear every content right now. i am main mch and always will be no matter what. i have cleared susano ex and lakshmi ex several times and was among top in dps. it all comes down how well you know your class and how good you are with mechanics. you can suck with every class no matter of the current state of a job. guys pls dont be posers. thats what it seems to me that people pretend like they are something special or better which is just hilarious as this game is so casual. that might change with super savage mode though.

Meta should never be enforced in regular play... I have seen Machinists do 3.5k DPS on Lakshmi Ex, and conversely I've seen SAMs go 2.5k DPS.

Outside high-end play, compositions are going to matter very little compared to player skill.

While Machinists definitely need help in terms of making them more desirable in party compositions, in no way is it an unviable class for farming current extremes and most likely even the upcoming Savage. Locking them out of run-of-the-mill farm parties is just silly.

Well, you have a lot of faith in people if you expect them to behave rationally when selecting party members. Besides that fact, it's not like you can say there are more good machinists than bad samurai or something - you should assume equal skill. If a 'bad' samurai is doing low dps, if you get equally unlucky and recruit a bad machinist, how much dps do you think they would be doing? It'll be microscopic. Also, heheh, machinist is a lot easier to play badly now than samurai.

On a more serious note though, this kind of hyperbolic community reaction can be useful in the end if it puts more pressure on SE to fix the job. It can only work to your advantage in the long term, so just put up with it for awhile, lose the battle win the war.

Didn't work when we drowned while waiting for changes in Gordias. Took an entire raid tier. 7 months of waiting from Gordias(Savage) launch to 3.2. Just under half of the expansion.

Yes, that's the kind of timescale you might have to be prepared to wait. But hey, it happened eventually didn't it :)

I can think of very few situations where, "It gets better halfway through", is typically desirable.

That's besides the point, and out of our control to boot. The bottom line is that the state of machinist now is an unfortunate fact, if something happens that can accelerate us toward the day where they get fixed, that can only be a good thing.

Consider that these types of PF creators would be being irrational about something else if it wasn't machinists (maybe no DRG/WAR allowed), you can be glad that their behavior is at least serving our purposes now.

of course you cant use mch, i have mch on 70 and i seriously recommend not to use it, it is a crippled job with joke dps
