As the OP, I can say that is not what this thread is about. This thread was asking why if they were going to merge similar skill and create ways of replacing/adjusting how those skills are accessed, why nothing happened to certain skills; the Fire/Blizzard skills are just a prime example because there are 4 versions. This thread was asking peoples expectations and thoughts, which so few people decided to do. Instead, a good number of people just want to state the obvious, move on, not give it any thought, and bash those who do.Quote:

You should always expect people to disagree when it comes to the General Discussion forum. I main BLM and I disagree with the ideas some people have made and am happy with how BLM is turning out (it's definitely going to be easier to play than it was in HW). Fire spells cannot be consolidated for reasons you know why. Blizzard I is probably the only spell that can be consolidated, since it's mostly a filler spell.
I've said it once before, but I'll say it again: BLM is arguably the easiest Job to play in FFXIV, even in HW once you get used to it (more so than MNK, DRG, NIN, SMN, etc). Some of the ideas people are coming up with just make it sound like they want BLM to go back to being a Level 44 rotation, or a level 6 rotation. That's boring.
And it's not inaccurate to say Fire III and Blizzard III replaces Transpose. The only time you would ever use Transpose after level 40+ is if you use Flare (and don't have Convert/Ethers), trash mobs die and you're in Astral, or the boss decides to jump off screen because SE likes making bosses do that for whatever obnoxious reason... or you really mess up your rotation and have MP below Blizzard III's minimal cost (this shouldn't happen). -

If for example someone says they wishes thunder 4 refreshed astral fire or had 5000 potency anyone is free to point out why it's a bad idea. If you don't like that there are blogs where you can force your opinion on those who wish to read it. -

Its simple really, stone 2-3-4 are straight up replacements, the fires and blizzards each have their own individual purpose.
