Soooooo...what is that, if not a sense of achievement?
Honest question. Not an attempt at sarcasm.

meh, some people actually do get a sense of achievement from hitting cap and the work they put in to develop their character. While you may not, it certainly doesn't somehow invalidate their playstyle.
wow... less than a month to hit 50 on crafting, and you think it was too long? sure hope you didn't craft at the start of the game...
Personally I prefer a balanced approach, not too fast, but not too slow either. Too slow and it just drives players away, and too fast.. well, you might as well just remove leveling entirely and give everyone max level when they start the game, as it'd be pointless anyway.
That's funny because that's normally when I start losing interest in a mmo. For me the game is the grinding and lower level content (which I agree the game falls completely flat on) which isn't based around getting gear the best gear in the game. I was hoping for a game with a CoP setup for the entire game but I don't think they make them anymore.
That's not true at all. I leveled Mnk, Rdm, Drg and Cor to 75 pre-Abyssea and my reaction each time was relief, not achievement. If there was some level of difficulty, my opinion may have been different. But like everything else in XI the challenge ended with finding other people with the proper jobs.
Actually, that's not entirely true. I felt a great sense of pride and achievement as I soloed my Drg to cap in the lolDrg days. Because it actually mattered how I played instead of spamming WSs or cures for three months.
Oh dear lord please no more grinding :(
I wish they could just make enough cool quests and stories so that you never feel that you're grinding. I know it would be very challenging to do since you can play multiple classes on one character, but I have hope!! ^^
I spend 2 days in parties recently. I got 5 lvls total. Each day I spend like 2 hours grinding. I definitly doesn't feel like I'm lvling too fast.
