For everyone advocating this, how much content are you willing to give up to free up the resources streamlining the levelling experience would require? Its not a small job. SE devs aren't lazy. They work there asses off. Its not like they just need to work a little harder. Game developers in general are some of the most hardworking people. Particularly at crunch time they work insane hours.

You know implementing the potions costs resources as well? What you prefer a game that it will be unplayable if you dont shell out the money to jump? Because down the line thats gonna happen. At least now new players find new players into the DF. And you can not put the whole weight into mentor roulette where rewards are not worth it for the time spend (outside of being a good mentor) those queues for people who didnt pay will take more and more.

I think people aren't looking at the full story. None of these potions will get anyone to the endgame faster. People will still have to level and will still have to do some quests. As it is currently in the Korean/chinese markets, you can only use a potion to jump to lvl 50, and can only skip the ARR MSQ series. You still have to level the last 10 levels, and do the last 120+ quests of the HW MSQ. This is not something that is or will be terrible, it is designed to help new people who want to join the game and not do 400 quests worth of old content. As long as people aren't hitting max level, I'm on board with the idea of leveling potions and story skipping.

It's just quick cash for SE, not really good for business and it might just be the beginning of the so feared decline!...

I don't care at all if new players just catch up to everyone else at the previous level cap (60 in Stormblood), I might even use a couple of them because I'm feeling really lazy about leveling the last two jobs to 60 but there is no option yet, gladly!...

New players might just sub for a few months (say three) to try out the game after the free trial and then move on to something new, jump potions do not guarantee players will be hooked up by XIV in the long term!... :rolleyes:

I dont give a Rat's Tail if you skipped or not. Sry i am not a lore freak. But those new players a new jump potion will bring is not the Holy Grail. That's what i am saying. Skip or don't skip when you done 100-200 dungeons something is familiar to you when you reach the endgame as bad as you are.

The thing is with SB release the want 2 make a HW skip as well + lvl60 job potion. If you see Yoshi's responce he cleraly states they develop a HW skip atm.

Except for, you know, the whole level boosting thing that exists in another currently existing MMO, World of Warcraft. And should we be upset that the game that we all enjoy to play will get more money, especially after funds were taken from XIV to finish XV?

Why don't you pay a visit to their subs and their subreddits to see how the community feels even 2 years after. It didn't help the game or raised retention time in the long term. Also WoW's leveling is much differently constructed compared to 14

I've played WoW myself as well as have friends who focus on it: The problem with the game isn't new players boosting to just beneath level cap. It's either stale content or the lack of content altogether. After WoD came out, there wasn't any new engaging content for a while. That's not the fault of new players. And you're right. You can get to cap in WoW and be done with your character much quicker than in 14. Kind of funny how the potion is just for one Job, isn't it.

I hate P2W so much

whats next?

pay to get items to give bonus xp?
pay to get a mount that moves faster?
pay to get equipment that always scales up to higher ilvl?
pay to skip steps of relic?
