Disappointed in Youkai Watch

I can't believe crap like this is still an issue when we are getting bombarded by RMT tells before we can even get loaded into the game...

I get like 10 tells a day at most (If I'm idling in town) on Behemoth.

I guess I'm wrong in thinking that a game marketed as a Final Fantasy game in the Final Fantasy universe, designed around Final Fantasy Fan Service... should y'know... like... stay about Final Fantasy Fan Service.

I can't wait to play Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare with the free (optional) (but still able to be seen) Bratz issue BDU complete with Pokeball Grenade skins.

I can't wait to play the next GTA online with its event that instead makes you go around doing the laundry and good deeds for the citizens of Liberty City.

I am so excited to play the next Dark Souls game where I can run into a guy wearing a Gundam themed suit of armor.

Well honeslty, i don't care about the event being out of lore, the items are nice (most of them) the minions are cute and if SE gets money for it and use it FOR FF14 ONLY, great.
If it troubles you that much, you can always see it as some kind of carnaval for eorzean children, minions being plushies and weapons being false one for them to play the hero. Nothing prevents you from creating your own lore at some point :)

The problem is that money doesn't funnel into FF14. Thats why we get such watered down content patches. Thats why relic weapons were delayed until almost a year after the Expansions release.

Most of that money is going into the development of FF15 and mobile titles.

No it doesn't.

Rikku? Tifa? Vanille?

Immersion isn't about realism. Its about immersion in the Final Fantasy universe and all things Final Fantasy. If there had never been a single scantily clad character in Final Fantasy... yes it would be lore breaking.

No, I'm talking about the fact that with glamour someone could be in your raid group or fighting Thordan EX in a maid outfit or a bikini, which obviously don't originally belong in the "lore" of FFXIV. According to the descriptions of what is acceptable for immersion purposes you are contradicting yourself with this statement. It's still in the same universe, it isn't adding anything from outside that universe. The fact that you aren't killing someone isn't immersion breaking. You think that just because you play as a criminal, you don't occasionally have to do some laundry, or help your old neighbor lady take out her trash?

In my opinion if you can defend tanks in wedding gear, healers in bikinis, and DPS in chocobo suits just because they "belong to the universe" but then use this as an example, you sir/madam are a troll, and not a very good one at that.

I wasn't bothered by the Lightning event at all because its still Final Fantasy. Not my favourite but its still one of them.

Again though, Bikini's don't bother me. Final Fantasy has never been about realism. I'm not talking "Medieval Times" style lore. Just the universe.

Like I would not expect a bikini in Dark Souls.

Being that there has been a number of scantily clad characters in Final Fantasy over the years though, its not lore breaking.

It's unrealistic, but not lore breaking of the Final Fantasy universe


Aside from the fact that it doesn't fit the universe, its infuriating that its sponsored content. Designed to sell us a product and dressed up as something it isn't.
