When people require excessive raising, it's usually their own fault for sunbathing in avoidable AoEs and failing to handle OHKO mechanics.

While there are a lot of bad healers out there, I wouldn't be too quick to judge. No healer is going to save players from standing directly underneath Heavensfall or running off with Thermionic Beam, for example.

I understand what you are saying; however, having to raise 6 times in a row shouldn't be the base case for a comparison argument. That is an abnormal case and should not count as part of the statistics. The fact that he tries to count it as part of the statistics is what leads me to assume he is a bad healer as it lead me to believe he wasn't doing his best.

Scholars do have better mp recovery so they can pump out high cost spells a little better, but on that note I have never had a problem healing and on occasion reviving even in the extreme dungeons. Whenever I am in an 8 man raid with a SCH as a WHM I try to organize how we would heal that way we don't both waste a big heal on the same person. In general I do recommend they handle most of the resurrection as if it goes to hell their mp can take the hit. When I do healing with a SCH buddy from my FC we divide it up as WHM takes tanks and SCH takes dps in order to ensure more efficient healing patterns.

I usually do this the other way around if necessary to delegate healing duties. SCHs are arguably better and more efficient single-target healers, while WHMs more quickly and easily recover the entire party from incidental and unavoidable damage.

have you heard of something called HPS, something you can measure your healing output with?
i basically meant benediction/cure 2 (one go) vs Lustrate/physick+embrace (intervals).

I find HPS useless to see if a sch/whm is doing its job correctly. Its not an accurate measurement at all at how effective healing is.

Whm are good at digging the party out of a bad situation, sch is designed to try and orevent the bad situation from happening in the first place with mitigation. Maybe a bit reductionist, but it is somewhat the crux of the difference. Also, sch is a very powerful single target burst healer, and has the benefit of not using mana but another resource to heal.

while measuring HPS is quite useful to tell if healers are over-healing but it's not a necessary tool. Like i said in my previous post, both jobs can burst heal and they both do it differently. HPS can provide data relevant to that burst and ofc data will vary depending on the target due to lustrate and benediction being a fixed value.

So according to you, being able to split burst healing on up to 3-6 targets is less control?
