Why is jumping always associated with WoW?

Ok maybe you are right.. The best thing I heard before the game released was that the battle system is not with "auto-attack" and now we have auto-attack and are going to get diff mounts (we don't know yet what especially is meant by this) and jump. As someone else said: FF has a different audience then WoW (or some other MMOs).

Ok the battle system was not good but they had no ideas to create something new.

I always tell people to let them implement they stuff they plan to implement and then give feedback on it and not to shoot an idea down until they either have giving the full details on it or have implemented it first. It is fine to give an opinion on something but people should be fighting against the change so vehemently like against jump it isn't going the break the game. Personally I want to the the game thrive and if they have to change stuff and add new features and a ton of content to get old players to give it another chance and for new players to be interested in it, it will all be worth it in the end.

I also like the idea of no auto attack at first but I changed my mind after not having one because all of the button spamming. The battle system itself isn't terrible but it is just lacking like most other things in the game in its current state. Also as they have said FF generally has a difference fan base than most of those other MMORPG's out there and that is true so they will take things differently and general won't abuse a feature in the game in a way that goes against the purpose of it.

Again I disagree, WoW has a very fluid jump motion that does not look out of place, people who don't like it do not like WoW to begin with.

I thought jump looked absolutely ridiculous in WoW as did the rest of the artwork.

I dunno... I've always associated jumping with Quake, and had assumed the bunny hoppers in MMOs were kids who usually played FPS games.

I jumped a lot in WoW actually because I thought my blood elf swirly motion was pretty cool. But I'm easily amused I guess... :P

The fact that it looked ridiculous was a huge turn off, yes. That's why I've been so adamant in my stance on jumping. I seriously hope that for those of us that feel the way I do about it, that we get a '/jump off' command.

I don't have much confidence that it can be done tastefully. Hell the fact that it'll serve no purpose other than 'to look cool' is pretty tasteless to begin with.

But hey it has to give you hope he said jump would be jank..it gives me hope...maybe jump will be so awful people won't use it.
