Same can be said for the other party, also you have to understand they are asking for further investigation and to remove the correct amount of gil instead of 99%.

There's no need to camp banemites. I'm lv50 weaver and I never needed to camp banemites or purchase web yet I managed to get MANY stacks in very short amounts of time. Here's how:

First off, I love what you do Reinheart, I am an avid follower of your translations. It is actually quite a privilege to be quoted by you /fangirl

Second, it is a simple fact, Many that reached that amount were exploiting the fact that the consumer had unnecessary amounts of gil. regardless how many hands they changed, it shouldn't have existed. They knowingly put stuff up for 500k-1M when the average player had 200-300k at 50. It is not saying they are at fault, but they are not innocent either. SEeing countless people on my server for instance that has Vanya robes with 0 crafts, No Primals, they have no real way to make money other than RMT. Because the abundance of gil from RMT is there, 400k titan runs and 1M Crafted items are sold. They sell way too fast this early.

I will admit, I have an abundance of gil I made (not 10+ m plus) from selling high wares and titan runs, I am part of the problem. We all stopped as soon as last weeks gil freeze though because We want RMT to stop. We are now offering Free titan runs on Cactuar to try to end some of it as well. We want RMT gone in any way we can.

This isn't about teleporting but earlier this week while I was leveling my crafting job near the item turn in npc for leves, I saw a player get 10 levels within one second. I might be crazy but is it possible that they are hacking the game?

Unfortunately the tools they use (and have been using since FFXI) cant help but catch legit players in the dragnet. Someone posted a link at one point to a page on the POL site that describes the RMTpwner and their gil flagging system. Essentially though the pwner allows them to follow a gil trail through multiple layers from the gil harvesting bots straight through to the buyers. This is why some shouters and botters remain for a longer period of time. They're building a web out from these known RMT chars to catch more accounts, bigger fish, and ultimately the gil buyers who are the real issue perpetuating the RMT situation. Chars with high amounts of gil are flagged and likely get investigated through the RMTpwner to ensure they're legit but are NOT instabanned.

Regarding the gil resets...what DJPretty said is definitely correct. ALso...you made 300k through the storyline by collecting allagan pieces..that's well and good, but how much gil have you spent since you started playing? I bet it eclipses 300k. What that means is you essentially spent the 300k you made through the story. SE didn't take it away.

A decent counter measure would be to fix that stupid spam filter you have.

Its set to filter spam if the sentence is the exact same thing. RMT sellers circumvent this by adding random letters to the end of each shout/yell so it does not get filtered.

Instead...be like other games where it filters spam from the NAME of the person if they post more then 2 or 3 times in succession and blocks them for 1 minute or so.

The current spam filter is terrible, I dont even know why you guys set it like that instead of filtering spam by player name...

This upsets me. To me, if SE continues to handle RMT by doing a blanket ban on gil, they are putting up a big sign that says "DO NOT USE MARKET BOARD OR YOU'LL GET BANNED". Players that simply use the market aren't doing anything wrong in my opinion. Should players seriously get punished for using a feature that is a natural part of the game?
