Players who stands mile away from boss, heals/buff never reach them.
They die because nobody knows where the *** they are
Can't even ress them right away - because their corpse is god knows where.

I forget dungeon name but it's the one where the final boss has 3 invincible phases with corrupted crystals...so a pre-50 dungeon.
It was my Leveling Roulette ( I've not done one in ages since I really don't have anything to level but trying to get my last 2 up there ) and one of the DPS was voted out right before 2nd boss.
There seems to be an argument going on between the other DPS and tank against the healer. Apparently the healer was against the kick so they shortly leave too. So now it's me, the other DPS, and the tank. I sit there for a moment waiting for a healer to pop but after 2 minutes I'm like "Nah this is pre-50 so we can single pull and do bosses without. Tank might die but that's a risk I'm willing to take cause I knew us DPS would finish it".
Sure enough we kill 2nd boss and tank was just barely alive. We start to do the big room and we are single pulling no prob when the healer pops up finally. Tank starts to multi pull and pretty much uneventful and smooth sailing from there. At least it was a quick roulette. Just 4 total levels and all my classes are donezo.
https://www.reddit.com/media?url=htt...8eu052xm91.jpg Welcome to MMORPGs my guy.
FFXIV? I have a BRD/BLM standing in Thavnair while the rest of us are on the boss. (and SOME HOW you're outside my ridiculous ES range)
WoW? The same but with Ranger and he's in the Outlands.
ESO? I have a CONE HEAL for ~8-10y in front of me that buffs your damage and for SOME UNGODSLY REASON (the Divines, the Twelve or w/e religion you follow on Azeroth) I get the Magicka or Stamina (or hybrid now I guess *throws up hands*) ranged DPS 10FT BEHIND ME.
And on top of that?
They also run like headless chickens away from you at times.
...You learn to deal with it /sigh
On the upside, FFXIV doesn't really have a lot of places the DPS can run to.
One day I will try ESO.
No one can heal stupid. Don't drive yourself crazy trying.
I don't even know how to call this

SO I have two stories from small roulettes I did to finally get RPR to 90.
1. So doing the dungeon where we beat up frogs ( I am TERRIBLE at remembering dungeon names ) and I knew this was gonna go...in ways...because one no one interrupts the frog from making mobs bigger. My stun does not work so it needed to be a tank or I believe a ranged physical...it doesn't happen and we end up wiping. So now tank is single pulling and although slower it is safer if either tank or healer isn't up to snuff. Anyway get to final boss and I thought I had a genius moment because Reaper can teleport forward or backward...but also return to that spot. So I backport early just as he is about to cause the bridge walk mechanic. I know you can't jump it or else you go straight down but I'm literally TELEPORTING...however nope even between dimensions you can't cheese that mechanic even though the Scions can ( I call hax! ). I get to the end though and start DPSing and that's when I realize the others aren't INSIDE the zone. I start calling for inside but I don't think they understand me and we wipe. Turns out one was watching a movie which frankly I totally understand since content is mostly braindead easy and I do it too on occasion.
2. I do the one where dragon boy is like "No don't kill them and I'm all like yo they are eating you and he's all like yeah you got a point let's kill these fools". So I learned that with 2 stacks pf Shroud...you can DPS peel off aggro off the tank. I probably shouldn't have gone extra on my DPS cause I'm starting to get aggro but at least I'm killing them so hard that once I got their attention they are pretty much dead. Anyway it ends with me trying to be a showoff so I die a needless dead, raise, and get killed immediately again by a raidwide cause I forget you are targetable the second you do any sort of action. Cool boy points go down by 2.
any movement ability including jumps and teleports are programmed as if they are fast sprints. its all 2D. not only for that mechanic but for any aoe effect in your way
This gave me a good chuckle.

Not sure but i think if 2 people stun it cancels each other out. Maybe that happened here.
That's unfortunate, but on the positive: Now i don't have to test for myself.
Never learn the names. Your descriptions are way better :D
I hate when somebody swaps and Montanas.
Fun: Pic your choice :D (MT)
Ok but seriously...You're needed in battle!
On another note Blue is fine and is right. Red is slightly right too but is being a major butt about it and needs to calm their moobs.
Seems like red doesn't pick up on context clues when someone goes "oops MT" which in that text...usually proceeded by something said that doesn't make sense with what is going on that.it means Mistell in that case.
They obviously saw you as tank and just put it together as Main Tank.
Or maybe they are just REALLY against admitting they made a mistake in noticing what you meant and wanted to double down and be a butt.
For clarification. I put red for DPS. It was actually multiple people though. I didn't cover the job symbols in hopes to clarify that. This line confused basically the entire party and we had a good laugh after we left. There were also a few moments of the raid where the bosses switched targets. Either way I'm not concerned with who is "right" in this scenario.
If the boss was switching targets and the MT came up i would chalk it up to bad timing cause MT means both things.
But now we should be talking about how to hold a boss. Whoever pulls first of the tanks is just the dedicated MT IMO...I would do my first leap/combo and then immediately shirk to the MT if I was OT to ensure I do not pull from them when I'm Blue DPSing. In the event if MT looses aggro without dying they need to provoke it back immediately to prevent a "spin and cleave".
Sounds like the tanks didn't have a plan other than "dive and what happens, happens".
Just glad you are over and done with on that group.
Edit - after looking for much longer than I should have too cause apparently finding an answer to this is hard...you can not shirk an Alliance tank. Only within your party. So it's an ability that is 100% worthless in 100% of Alliances. That's dumb. Regardless I've been doing it since forever...and for no reason it seems other than habit.
I once typed 'MT' after mistargeting because I couldn't type 'mistarget' in time.
To be fair, I think that a lot of problems with the Aurum Vale comes from people (and often, the tanks) used to HL dungeon, and try to multipack a lot of things, while the healers at that lvl don't have any instant heal and lack a lot of their healing tools. Any stop to solidify your aggro then move again to get the next pack practically means death, since the healer was probably healing the tank when he restarted, and either had to interrupt the cast and leave the tank low hp, meaning him dying at next stop, either finish it and be too far to heal him at next stop. Dungeon from 43-44 to 49 are tricky on this, and for people that have done a while ago, and for players that haven't played heal at that lvl for a long time, it's not always obvious.
No, the main problem that Aurum Vale has a lot of shortcuts, like hiding behind the left corner in 1st boss chamber, to avoid triggering more patrols, running on straight line to 2nd boss chamber, and fight in boss chamber again, to avoid triggering packs on left and right, or skipping 1 pack after 2nd boss fight, taking path as left as possible.
The problem, that new players or players who dont care dont know that, but "pro" Tanks expecting u to know that, and they just rushing to that "left" corner, making new healers panicking.
Thanks, but I am not sure you really want to be in those runs xD

Rolls alliance roulette because dps in need, gets Breach. Oh my god finally something I can use my skills on! Moar buttons!
Me on MNK: Aright we got lb2, the first boss is down to 10%, and people in the other alliances are dying. May as well use it. *uses it*
My dance partner: WHO WASTED LB?!?!?!111
None of us say anything. I guess they wanted their lb3 anime finisher at 0.1%. Lb bar gets reset at the next boss anyway lmao
The sheer amount of people who sit on an LB and either never use it, try to bank it and lose it all on the next boss, or try to greed it and like you said use it when 90% of the LB is overkill is way too high.
The LB is there to be used...sooooo...

I mean, if the boss is dead and the next pull is alliance trash then saving it for a ranged/caster LB might be more useful(but not worth complaining over). Afterall, its pulling the next boss that resets the LB bar so trash mobs dont count. Ive also been known to attempt to pull the next boss with a left-over LB. This usually fails when one of the tanks just YOLOs in and the bar is reset before the cast goes off, but ive certainly tried.
Yup, thats when i would try to kick you. If the group is bad enough to wipe to any given fight, then we get a second chance.
I used LB once in my early days in game not really knowing what it did and got screamed at in the dungeon so I took it off my bars. Then years later doing Prae (before it got changed) the tank told me to use LB to pull Nero. I had to find it an put it back on my bar to do it. Fortunately the group was kind about it.
I generally dont use it except to finish off a boss at the end of a dungeon because I really never have sorted out when its ok to use and when not. Mind you I mostly play ranged DPS.
