You and Kai are so tall! Makes Iris and I shorter than we already are! :P
O.o wow. I haven't checked things out in a few days and look what I find!? A classic NTM diva showdown! :P
I can't help but feel that the spirit of things is being forgotten. Let me paint you a scenario. Lets say someone from an UBER active FC decides to compete in the future. Idk, what if it was Gucci Gucci from Young Money (I follow her FC antics on Tumblr). What if her screenshots were garbage-mediocre because she's funny, but lousy at taking un-doctored screenshots BUT she got tons of votes because she's popular and has lots of support from her FC? Lets say she she even makes it to the end. Regardless if she "wins", an entire cycle went by where we were entertained and inspired by themes and everyone's random creativity (Remember how the cosplay round blew everyone away!?). Where people came together and created something from nothing and walked away with an amazing collection of memories. Her participation would generate plenty of hype and when she was gone she'd probably take plenty of the attention with her but the genuinely interested people would remain. That is the nature of competitions that include public voting. Part of the appeal is knowing your vote counts and that you can affect the outcome. Not knowing who is going to come out on top!
I am very biased towards Eirwen MacKenzie and that does affect my vote. I am also guilty of strategically voting in certain directions in order to have my 1 vote lean things which only mattered when things were very close. I am not embarrassed or ashamed by this, it is part of the game and the contest to me. Things have been up and down for many people during this entire cycle. Some that I thought for sure would be finishing contenders are not there. Is there some sort of prize that I'm not aware of? As far as I'm concerned they already have an entire portfolio and they've already won.
Speaking of prizes, I was thinking of doing some fanart for the person who does end up "winning" as a kind of prize. For this cycle and the ones in the future. I work very slowly though since I don't have a lot of time. What do you think? Maybe a few fans can get together and put together a kind of freebie prize package :D
Here's a link to some of my dabbles if you want to take a peek.

Remember :) Have fun!
So, from the looks of it, the tension in the air was somewhat related to my post, and I'm very sorry for being the cause of it. I got really excited about typing out and posting the tallies for once. I guess it went over my head. Sorry for the confusion. Please don't think wrong about me.
Not at all. I personally love your shots so far. I don't state out my top picks in order. It just happens that I liked yours over the others I didn't pick. Not to say that I'm suggesting favouritsm - the order of my top 4 are pretty much random. I guess I'm at fault for bolding your name every round. Sorry, I just can't help but smile when I see your pictures, and I apologize for making you feel that I picked you because of your personality. I really didn't.
Apologies, I didn't mean it like that. I'm the kind of person who gets excited over the smallest of things. The popcorn was in reference to my excitement for posting the tallies since I've never done it before. Sorry for the misunderstanding; I'm partly to blame for not choosing my words more carefully.
It's basically an act of self-preservation. You may not notice it, but I made the same mistake in the first few rounds. In an attempt to salvage the situation, you end up doing things that you will end up regretting in the long run. After the first round had ended, I had been given a second chance due to people dropping out. At that point, I pretty much lost it. It's been gnawing at me for the second and third round. Not the proudest moment I've ever had. It felt terrible going through round after round knowing what I had done. I'm pretty much over it now since I (finally) got eliminated. I don't mind it as much as I'm pretty accepting.
Still, this isn't like the first few rounds. This is the finals, and you've already done all you can. There's nothing you can do other than wait for the public voting to end and the judge scores to come out. Friends, fans and mates are always biased and will always skew towards picking you over the rest even if you tell them not to. You can't bluntly tell them to not vote for you. They will always be more inclined to pick you regardless of what you say.
Apologies for the dreary post, but that's all I'm going to say about this matter. I don't like talking about serious things in a topic that isn't about anything serious. Please keep it at that, alright? I'll try make sure not to cause any confusion over my posts. If you have anything to yell at me for, please do. I apologize once again for the confusion I may have caused. Here's a potato.
http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/...e-620x372.jpeg
Normally I would post the results in both threads, but I think for the finale I'm going to just leave them here since there's no critiques and I want this one to be special :D
I know you're here for the results, but in grand tradition I'm going to tease you a bit and make you wait. Which is a bit ruined in the format because you can just scroll down, but whatever.
As the host, I want to award one special thing at the end. Call it the Host's Choice Award, something I want to use to recognize one model in particular who has really stood out to me this Cycle. This contest was far from smooth in the early stages, with models dropping like flies for various reasons. As it turns out, this was actually somewhat fortunate because it kept my pick in the contest. Somehow who struggled at first but eventually came through to not only turn in some of (in my opinion) the strongest shots we saw in the entire contest but has become an active member in this little ENTM community and to me, embodies everything I hoped the contest would be about. So please congratulate the Host's Choice Award Winner: Adam Flyrmyn!
Now, without further ado...THE RESULTS!
In fourth place, with a combined 8 points from the Judges and 3 from the public for a total of 11...Jinx Fireboot.
In third place, with a combined 13 points from the Judges and 4 from the public for a total of 17...Flare Anderfel!
Leaving our final two, who have a mere two votes separating them! An incredibly close call, but in second place with a combined 14 points from the judges and 10 from the public for a total of 24...Eirwen Mackenzie!
Meaning of course that our winner, with a combined 13 points from the judges and an equal 13 from the public for a total of 26 is Adeline Urusa!
Congratulations to all of our models! You all deserve to be incredibly proud of yourselves!
Enjoy the YouTube Cycle, and stay tuned for news about Cycle Four!
Yay!! Congratulations to Adeline! Congratulations to Adam! Congratulations to everyone! And thank you to Tyriont and all of the judges! What an exciting cycle! I'm glad I was tipped off to this and get to enjoy following these talented participants! I fear that SE will ban me from using exclamation points if I continue, so, that's all for now. Congratulations again...!
:OOOOOOO!!
Thank you for this award! Tis' an honour to receive this award. I've since had a lot of fun after joining in the ranks, and I hope to have a lot more in the days to come when Cycle 4 starts! Till then there's still the YouTube cycle! *winkwinknudgenudge*
But it's Fylrmyn, onegaishimasu.
Thank you everyone, and a big congratulations to Adeline-senpai for coming out on top! It's been a pleasure competing with all of you and I hope we all can work together again - someday! It's pretty sad that Cycle 3 has ended but here's Adam wishing everyone the best of luck! :D
cheesy ending speech : CHECK
Phew drama. Knew it was coming. xD Well my 2 cents is that even if Adeline did have friends vote for her sometimes, personally, I almost always gave her a 2 or a 3 because the majority of her shots were simply stunning! Her and Eirwen were both neck and neck for me. Judge scores should usually top the balance anyway. :3 It's a prizeless comp too so I don't understand all the rage but hey ho. I can understand from other models I guess since it can take hours or days even to get the shot you want but still, models should know that if they put that effort in, the judges will reward them for it. If you get 2s or 3s across the board there are enough judges that it should still keep anyone in if they deserve it.
Anyway I digress, great cycle guys. I had a lot of fun judging it. ^^
This. Five thousand times this. When I was drowning and beleaguered in my screenshot-crazed 3.5~4 weeks, I was being the meanest bear in all of Phoenix. Submissions of 32 shots? And of those 32, the prettiest pearls in all of the clamshell folder, there were an infinite amount of slightly more misshapen pearls.
I was so fortunate to have some friends there to help me through the energy drink crashes, the mini melt downs (for the love of Thal, why won't the weather change?! Whyyyy!!!), and the reminders to please take a break and murder some monsters. Despite this, I wouldn't trade the experience for anything. I entered this competition as a total newbie, but I'm leaving as a slightly more polished newbie.
I've loved watching the way everyone's screenshots changed and evolved throughout this one. I'm looking forward to subsequent rounds and cycles!
PS:
Round 4 of the YouTube Fanvote is live!
With another very special note from Rongi regarding what the Fanvote is and how it's going to affect the upcoming video cycle. :)

*sends Adeline winner care-package*
Congratulations to everyone! There were so many phenomenal shots this cycle, it was an honor to be judge for it. The top 4 was great. Eirwen, your sorrowful-desert shot is one my top favorites I'll remember of all time. Everything about it was amazingly executed. Flare, your shots were always injected with humor, but had great compositions especially later on. Your ratatouille shot sticks in my mind! Jinx! I especially remember and loved your Beastman shot - it was awesome! And Adeline, your vibrant farming one as well as your assassin's creed/batman-esque finale shot were awesome.
Good luck to all being judges for the next cycle! ^^
Hello and Good morning all. I was waiting a bit to say anything to make sure all the negative steam had passed. I just wanted to say I'm so happy that I managed to win (Eirwen and I were so close!), and thanks to everyone for supporting me during this cycle and for liking my shots, from both the Fans and judge's perspectives.
I hope to keep interacting and supporting ENTM in the future (either by offering advice, voting, or trying out to be a judge in future cycles). I hope to keep in contact with all of you, for you're all great people. Good luck current YouTube Contestants! You're all fantastic so far. I can't wait to see what future blood Cycle 4 will bring ^_^
Also I want to say a special note to Adam. Congrats on your host reward! You really have grown during this whole thing (I'll admit that your initial GC pick had me flabbergasted lol), but even since then you have indeed grown tremendously and have become such a valuable asset to ENTM. You're someone that I've really grown close to and love poking fun with! (Senpai notices you but really you are on the same level of Senpai lol). As far as yesterday and the whole drama lhama that happened, don't feel too bad about it. You didn't mean to sound the way you did, and I'm sorry for taking it that way. Honestly the whole issue had come to a boiling point and it's good that at least that it's out of the way.
To all the rest of Cycle 3 cast/judges, I hope to stay in touch and talk to the lot of you in the future, either through ENTM or just casual convos :D It's been a blast and everyone has produced some amazing and original concepts. Thanks to Ty/Rongi and the rest of ENTM crew for making this a thing!
Can former models (especially those from Cycle 3) please give me their opinions on this matter? Do you love/hate/tolerate critiques? Do you welcome constructive criticism and insight into why you did or did not get someone's vote? Would you prefer that we stick to the voting and keep our opinions to ourselves? I like to think I'm being helpful, but I'm afraid I come off as arrogant and scathing. My opinions do not necessarily reflect the majority, so hopefully they can be taken with a grain of salt.
I always found your critiques insightful and helpful. It showed you took the time to look over every photo with great detail to cast your votes. I didn't mind when someone didn't vote for me and told me why. I always took what the judges said into more consideration then most of the fan votes. A fan would be more inclined to tell you they didn't like your picture because you changed your hair color (Just an example). While a judge would look more toward the technical aspect of it.
However, I think the fan critiques would potentially help an aspiring model break into future cycles by learning from the past and current fan critiques.
I ain't dead~
Taking a moment to de-lurk and say I can also appreciate critique, but only if they're well balanced between positives and negatives. Criticism is great for growth, but it's also easy to get bogged down with what's wrong while neglecting what was done right. Personally speaking, I'm not especially sensitive, but a harsh truth tends to be a lot easier to accept when combined with some mention of success.
(All general statements though, nothing in any way personal! I haven't followed cycle three at all, in truth.)
I really enjoyed everyone's critiques. I think they add insight on what each of us needed to work on to produce better pics. I don't think anyone that ever did a critique ever meant to sound mean or evil. They just wanted to say why they chose/didn't choose pics of ours, and what we can do to improve them.
For every critique I got (from both fans/judges), I always tried to use every bit of info I got to influence the following week's shot. I will say that you can't please everyone, and it can be hard to get everyone's insight, but I always tried my best to please everyone. Unfortunately, you can't as well :( and that's something a model has to keep in mind~ many fans/judges like different things, and you will always end up disappointing one person.
I will say Perci you critiques were always helpful, and I think you have a great idea of what it takes to produce a good shot. I hope to keep seeing you around ENTM ^^ whether trying out in the future or handing out those critiques!
I actually have no issues with harsh critiques and I welcomed them. I know early on people were getting upset with the judges critiques and they seemed to tone down what they were saying critique wise. Saying "I liked your picture, but I liked others more. So I have to give you my required 1" was said frequently and I feel it's a cop out critique that does nothing for the models. If you're judging / critiquing you should just say what you think. It was frustrating to get something along that line for feedback.
I love all the critiques, even though us in the YT cycle have already submitted all of our shots, I still appreciate criticism or advice on how to improve. :) That's one thing about Cycle 3 etc. that i'm envious of, you submit your pictures bit by bit, and you can really learn from your mistakes and implement that in the next round.
Waiting anxiously for Cycle 4 to be posted and hoping I don't miss it because of life! X_X
Thanks to everyone for the feedback!
Thanks, Flare and Adeline for the positive comments! I'm glad that you found my comments to be useful.
I really like the ENTM community and look forward to sticking around as a part of it! (I even remember Marik from the ARR beta forums! We frequented some common threads, though I went under a different name that I no longer remember.)
Well aren't you a sweetie! I wish you could remember your name so I could remember if I remembered you or not hehe, yeah I love being part of the community, though lately life dictates me otherwise atm, but usually I'm kind of talkative and opinionated here and there.
To your earlier question, personally I'm torn between voter critiques. Like Kaiyoko said earlier, especially about certain things said in critiques, if it isn't helpful feedback whether it's praise, or an actual critique it's not really helping anyone. Some judges and voters did this during the competition, and it was honestly just a waste of the models time if you're not going to be constructive with your comments. Personally, I didn't really pay attention to most voter critiques just because, even though it can come out as a popularity contest, I wasn't trying to please the public in a way, I was trying to better my techniques/shots/etc. by what the judges constructively told me through out the competition. But I never allowed comments, negative, positive, or constructive ever dictate or change the actual style or who I was. I appreciate any constructive criticism, but please let it be actual criticism and not something like "I hate it, because it's not the right gear I like...", or "I hate your colors because I hate brown..." things like that definitely aren't helpful in a competition setting.
ANYONE READING THIS PLEASE TAKE IT WITH A GRAIN OF SALT, IT'S MY PERSONAL OPINION Not attacking anyone, just how I personally feel.
I think the critiques are very helpful. From the judges, its important to understand what it is they are looking for as well as how to improve. Percimont, I always found your public critiques honest and insightful. Before participating in this, I never paid much attention to things like the rule of 3rds which was brought up often by a few public critiquers. Overall, I think the important part of a critique is to explain why you don't like it and suggest a way to improve it so that your not just saying "you suck".
There were some concerns on the judge critiques early on in, but I appreciate all of it. I did get depressed over a few certain comments from both voters and judges while I was still in, but I know that it was reasonable. In the end, you learn a lot from each other and I wouldn't have it any other way. :o
To those handling/participating in the youtube cycle, the person that's saved from elimination that comes back later~ is it the votes from all the rounds that Hilda will be posting that get's the most will come back? I have a tally if that's the case ^^ Sorry if this is already stated but I was a bit confused by it. (it's not you it's me Dx)
Note these are scores for 1-4 up til today's latest vote:
Hilda -11111 11111 11111 11111 11111 1111 = 29
Fruity - 11111 11111 11111 11111 1 = 21
Koriander -11111 11111 11111 = 15
Midge -11111 11111 11111 11111 11111 1 = 26
Raquelle -11111 11111 11111 11111 11111 11111 1111 = 34
Sam -11111 11111 11111 1111 = 19
Sylvie -11111 11111 11111 11111 11111 1111 = 29
Xyhr -11111 11111 11111 11111 11111 11 = 27
Hi!
/10chars
I don't think you are! I've really loved seeing all of our cycle-sister's results! i want to see some alternates from you guys, I really do! But maybe we're all waiting for the episodes to start hitting YouTube?
Ahhh, I'll throw this one out here. Not like I don't have 50 million more sitting on my hard drive for this cycle... This was my favorite submission for the Beastman Battle - but it felt so... static? Nothing's really happening. There is no motion...!

Yet, it was my favorite due to balance.
Aww thanks! Hopefully some of my upcoming shots will have a bit more pizzaz! lol
Here's my 2nd choice for the starry night round

You just put the biggest smile on my face, I love seeing artists and their work! Thank you Adam! So freaking adorable!!! *huggles and huggles till you can't stand it!*
I'm having an impossible time voting on Round 5 of the YT cycle. This is hands-down the hardest vote I've done in my short time here so far. I am going to have to think about this a lot more before I post my votes.
I think that giving such a specific assignment forced all of the models into very similar shots. This makes it hard because there are less variables to help sort the better shots from the less-good shots. But it's good in its own way because it really forces judges/voters to consider the smaller details in each shot.
Glad you liked it. I had a lot of fun picking out which version of you guys I liked the most and used that! I'm currently working on Flare, Jinx, Rhaya and Iris.SOO MANY LALAS.
Suuuuuuperrrrrr kawaaiii-desu. ;D
AHH I C-C-CAN'T B-BREATH, MARIK!
Thankies! ;D
