LOL, me too. Maybe our server is broken because none of my friends have gotten any either.

A friend of mine has gotten 3 from fates with Curtana Animus, so pretty sure it drops.

Hey guys,
I just got my Holy Shield Novus today and I received my last alexandrite from a FATE in Northern Thanalan.

When I started the Alexandrite hunt, my Destiny Child Achievement was 2540/3000. Now it's 2870/3000 and I've only been able to get 3 to drop. Basically every 100 fates or so I would get one to drop. Leading more and more to the drop rate being 1% or lower. While this is agonizingly low, there are other ways to achieve alexandrite which make up for the low drop rate.

2.3 Hunts will be great for obtaining Alex faster, But I have a really bad feeling that SE is going to have some kind of lockout on Hunts.

Yeah, even if it's like 1 hunt per day, that's still 2 potential Alexandrite on average which will make a good bit of difference.

I thought Daily hunts rewarded AN which could be used to buy items (including Alexandrite) if thats the case you might need a couple days worth of AN to buy a single alexandrite

but what is daily? for all we know we could get a handful of targets a day for this or a single one.

There is suppose to be a Daily Personal Hunt, But then there are suppose to be other Marks you can do.

Edit here is what I found....
Mob Hunt (aka. Marks)
•"Risky mobs" that can be defeated for points.
•Three ranks available: S, A, and B.
•You can hunt these marks any time you want to earn points.
•One monster (Rank B was used as an example but possibly A and S rank as well) will be designated by your Grand Company weekly. Defeating the designated mark will earn you bonus points on top of what you normally get.
•Another designated mark will be assigned daily to each player separately (so not everyone will be hunting the same thing) for bonus points (similar to how daily roulette provide bonus tomes).
•Points can be used to obtain Myth items, as well as alexandrites used for Novus weapons. Mostly though, the rewards will be unique and cannot be obtained elsewhere.
•Difficulty ranges from just barely solo-able with full ilvl90 gear to needing a chocobo companion to things that will require a group of people to beat. So if you run into a hard one you may need to shout for help.

I'm worried there is going to be a lockout to prevent me from spamming Hunts. Drops rate from fates suck, Spamming Bray sucks, Quest isn't so bad but only 1 a day. I hope Hunts don't have any lockout, meaning we can kill as many Marks as we want outside daily/weekly GC Marks and get Alex faster.

Lockout or no lockout likely depends on how many points are required to buy Alexandrites.
Since we don't know the points required or how many we get from various marks, it's too early to say.
