With my new computer I was just recently able to dodge Landslide consistently. My poor friends had to carry me through EX a few months ago (I tried like a million times; I just couldn't stay alive because my crap laptop didn't let me dodge in time).

If there are adds and the boss is still at 15%, there wasn't enough damage for that particular strategy. You need to be able to do roughly 20% of the boss' health in the time it takes for them to spawn in order to skip them, meaning the last set of four don't spawn before he's dead, or just as he's dying. Probably could have told before hand, since the run was 'so slow'.

Exactly. I'm still pretty new, so I couldn't tell you if anyone was doing a horrible job in their role. Mostly I'm paying really focused attention to what I'm supposed to doing. I have no problem with skipping mechanics, IF the group can handle that. The way things had been going, tank was a bit overly optimistic trying to simply focus the boss down. I can adapt to whatever the group wants to do. I was just a little bummed. Though I guess I could say at least I finally got to use an LB. ;P

Allow me to add a bit more detail to that story. Normally, I'd be the last one to complain about a slow run. If stuff's dying, progress is happening, it's whatever. So, like I said, tank and lancer (possibly a premade) don't talk at all. Okay, fine. But they can't seem to decide which one is the tank. Lancer is consistently pulling off the tank, or before her. As well as my suddenly having mobs on me that were definitely attacking the tank before! Her health dips a lot throughout the run. Could have been the healer, I don't know. They run allover the place, haring off into side rooms, standing still for long minutes here and there. Generally acting lost or something. During the last phase of the Captain Madison fight, I had to run my pack of scurvy dogs over to the tank for her to take them, since she hadn't even bothered to try and pick them up in the first place.

So yeah, I was more than ready to be the hell out of there. I tried to type into chat before the last boss, asking if we were gonna do mechanics or just try and focus him down. Not that the mute tank would have answered. But this boss, out of the whole dungeon, they decide to actually pull quickly! So, I position myself by a grate, ready to run. When add spawning prevention fails so abysmally, I shrug it off and simply switch to burning down the boss. I was hoping this more usual tactic (from what I've seen) would work. But nope! There is no way two dps and a healer were gonna finish this with the tank dead. So... archer LB, yay! And boss is dead. And there I was, feeling absolutely awesome, I saved the day, woohoo. Wait.. no comms. Awww.

To sum up, it was a hassle of a dungeon with a bummer of an ending.

Got lost city in ex roulette today.. The tank ran into the first boss room, ignored the boss, and stood staring at the wall until after the first clone skill. He then proceeded to voke the boss and tanked like normal for the rest of the run.

Well, as normal as single pulls are. Was very wtf though.

A positive DF story!

I got Antitower in my Ex Roulette today. Among the party members was a MNK, and unlike the vast majority of DF DPS, he actually made me work to keep aggro for once. I rarely had time to even do my Royal Authority combo, because the threat he was generating was so high. I'd spread my threat combo out, come back to whatever enemy he was targeting, and 99% of the time he'd be *this* close to ripping off me (needless to say, I usually capped off my RoH combo on whatever he was focusing on).

During the second to last pull, he actually ripped off an enemy a few times before I was finished grabbing everything (I was doing big pulls). Before the last one, I had to tell him to hold off until I pulled everything, because his DPS was too strong. Lol. I also made a point to praise him for his exceptional DPS before the final boss. The BRD wasn't half-bad either, and the WHM made liberal use of Cleric Stance, resulting in a very quick run overall.

The MNK earned my commendation as a result of his DPS prowess. I only wish more DPS in DF were like him.

A1 Normal. First time doing it in quite a while, so I'm a bit rusty. I ask in FC if anyone wants to come along for the bonus...nope. Ok, I'll try my luck with DF.

Run #1: Co-tank solo-tanks Faust, then we get to Opressor. First pull, I'm not sure if I provoked too early or if I accidentally provoked the original Oppressor due to mistargeting, but whichever it is, the grab doesn't work right and we wipe to too much aoe damage. Second pull, I mention that it's generally safer for the OT to pull the Opressor and the MT to grab 0.5 when it comes out, and the MT agrees. This time the grab goes better (still a bit shaky, but better), but we wipe at the end because one of the DPS LBs 0.5 while both are still up and we end up killing 0.5 while the original is still at about 12%, without enough DPS to burn through it during the self-destruct cast. At that point, the other tank leaves, followed by the rest of the group.

Run #2: This time I get an FC mate to co-tank, so that's one worry out of the way, but we run into other problems. Round 1: We get to second adds, nobody grabs one of them off of me, and I wasn't expecting that, so I get mini'd and killed, leading to a quick wipe. Round 2: Somehow after one of the jumps, the bosses are too close together, so we wipe again. 2 dps leave and are quickly replaced. Round 3: One of the new DPS asks if we know how to split damage after the split - no response, ready check, pull, adds get handled properly, DPS gets split appropriately, 0.5 dies first and original gets melee LB'd and dies. Yay for decent DPS. :)

Here's hoping the rest of Gordias goes better. :)

If you're a fan of the Lost City theme, you may be interested to know that you can get it as an Orchestrion track (it's called "The Scars of Battle").

Also, if you like gentle background music, you may also want to check out Snowcloak, and later on the Antitower (the latter of which is also available for the Orchestrion)

I found a WHM during a Mentor roulette about a week or two ago that kept spamming Medica II when I was hurt. I finally had to tell him what he was doing was a bad idea, especially since nobody else in the party was damaged, lol. He said he liked the regen effects of it. So, he kept doing it.

A few pulls later, I finally stopped and told him "you need to stop doing this before you develop a bad habit, otherwise it's going to hurt you in actual tough content later" and his response?

"I know it's a bad habit. I'll deal with it later."

I mean, fortunately we got through the dungeon without much of an issue anyway, but I just couldn't believe this guy actually acknowledged what he was doing was wrong, but had no intention of changing it, lol. I swear, you only meet these kinds of people through DF.

EDIT: Oh, I actually remembered another story from a couple of nights ago. I forget the name of the dungeon, but uhhh... There's a bee boss? Saint something or another, I think. The bee is the next to last boss. I remember that much.

Anyway, so this was another Mentor roulette run and I was tanking, as usual. We start out and the healer says "wy?" in the beginning. I have no idea what that's supposed to mean, so I ignore it and just run ahead. So, the group follows and we begin pulling like usual, no real problems. Finally, the healer speaks up because god forbid, I pulled 5 enemies at once (oh no!). She then tried to give me "tips" on how to pull and suggested that I warn her before big pulls. I just kind of laughed it off since there's only one big pull in that entire dungeon and it's the bees (which you can skip if you manage to break through the wall fast enough and slide to the boss).

Like I told her though, I usually don't like doing that pull simply because I know how difficult it is to heal through and if you're not careful, Unfinal Sting will drop your tank (think it does 15k to me or so?) and with that many bees surrounding me, I never know when to pop Hallowed Ground, lol. Anyway, so I informed her that she didn't need to worry and if I did actually do a big pull, it's common courtesy for me to let my healer know in advance (I play SCH as well, so I appreciate this sort of thing so I can prepare). Well, we keep going through the dungeon and she starts giving me grief, asking if I'm new.

Now, bear in mind, whenever someone is new in a later dungeon, you see a tome bonus message. If it's an earlier dungeon, you still see a bonus message, but it's in regards to gaining additional exp upon completion. This message did not pop up when we started, so I told her that it's easy to know if someone is new (especially if everyone is ready, but the 4th/8th player is viewing the cutscene, then you get the bonus message, heh) and explained how. She then tells me "well I'm a mentor, so I had to ask", then I laughed and was like "so now you're assuming I'm not a mentor then" and followed up with "maybe I should be asking if you're new". I generally don't appreciate people assuming such things about me, especially if I haven't given them a reason to. I've been pulling and holding hate, directing enemies away from the party as I should, etc., so please don't give me grief.

Anyway, we reach the first boss (finally) and just when I think she's finished her little "lecture", she starts up again.

"Look, I'm just trying to explain mechanics to you. No need to get defensive."

And in an ironic fashion, she dies while attempting to explain mechanics to me, lol. So, the boss has a little over 40% HP left at this point and she just lays there dead. I go through the rest of the fight popping Clemency on myself (this particular boss isn't very aggressive) and building my MP back up when he's spinning around spewing out bad breath since he's pretty slow during this time. I continue to rinse and repeat this process until the end where I pop Convalescence and heal myself for over 10k, lol. We bring the boss down and she gets all upset and says "well I guess I'll just sit this one out then" and I tell her "yep", and we carry on. We finally reach the bees and I pull one small group after another, taking them down one by one like I usually do and here it comes...

"I don't know what your problem is blah blah blah blah blah"

I honestly forget the rest. I was basically ignoring her at this point. Finally, we reach the boss though and I pop my CDs, and start to pull. She begins giving me grief again and you'll never guess why.

"Wow. No ready check? Really, tank?"

At this point, I was like "You really need a ready check in a trash dungeon...? We save those for raids and EX primals." and she said "Alright. I'm done with this tank. I just can't do this any more. Have fun dying." and disconnected during the boss fight, which we cleared without her. I apologized to the two DPS for having to put up with all of that shit since it was completely unnecessary. We tried to recruit a new healer and fortunately found a new one to replace her in less than 5 minutes (kind of surprising). We went on to finish the dungeon and this healer didn't give me shit, and actually let me do my job, and that was pretty much the rest of the experience.

Not exonerating the healer if the healer is as bad as you make the healer out to be, but you aren't exactly innocent here either. Saint Mocianne's Arboretum is probably the second hardest dungeon to heal in the game only proceeded by the vault, and the Bee boss is especially bad.

ESPECIALLY if you did the strategy like most people where if you break the wall before the second boss, big pull or no, and run through it before killing all the adds then the healer would be getting no out of combat MP regen. Done that dungeon plenty of times where the tank immediately engages the tank and I'm sitting at 0 MP, and if your healer was a non-Sch they aren't exactly getting it back. The only reason I've been fine with 0 MP was my fairy stalling until Aetherflow, but for Whm or Ast...well...glancing at the healer's MP and popping a ready check before the Bee boss specifically isn't a horrible idea. I mean you should at least give the healer a chance to cast Stoneskin on the party because the party WILL take damage.

Not saying the healer is perfect in the slightest, I mean if someone dies on the first boss...they just goofed. I've done that first boss without even deactivating Clerics Stance once, but that dungeon in general can be a pretty stressful one to heal especially if you are lower item level, and snapping at the healer because they wanted a ready check on a pretty healing intensive boss they may have been out of MP on because of being stuck in combat from skipping adds is unnecessary.

The second hardest dungeon to heal in the game...? Really? I've healed it a few times as my SCH and even through the big pull of bees as well (it required dissipation because of an Unfinal Sting at an unprepared time). The dungeon itself is a joke at best, even as a healer, honestly. The bee boss is especially simple because a majority of the attacks from the adds around the outside ring are telegraphed AoEs which can easily be dodged. There's a couple of moments where I have to use my party heal because of the boss, but overall, it was a cakewalk the first time and it's a cakewalk now.

As for the MP comment... Any WHM/AST I've run with in there usually has 3,000+ MP left during that point, give or take. Whenever I'm about to pull a boss, I only wait because of one of the following conditions:

A. Our healer's MP is below half
B. Our DPS is AFK (or any member, really)
C. Our healer is buffing

None of these occurred, so I pulled just as I always did. Trust me, as a tank, you're not the only one keeping an eye on your MP. I am too. Just because Scholars don't have to deal with MP loss as much as AST or WHM doesn't mean I don't know when the other two healer jobs are being pressured. If you're having difficulty healing in that dungeon and you honestly think it's "probably the second hardest dungeon to heal" in the game, that says more about you than it does the tank. I don't consider any of the dungeons difficult to heal, honestly.

The only times you should have difficulties healing is in EX or Savage content, but having difficulty healing in trash dungeons? That just makes me want to tell the healer "git gud" since none of the dungeons are really pressuring on any job.

Relating to the bees Final Sting, theres one bee that spawns at the start. Focus target it.
The second bee spawns when the wall is about 50%. This is also when the first bee final stings. Stun it (because you have it focus targetted)
You can try stunning the second bee too if wall doesnt die fast enough

The cutscene isn't actually a very accurate way of telling who is and isn't new. I know quite a few people who don't have their "skip viewed cutscenes" checked because they like the little cutscene at the start/end of dungeons. And as someone who has bad net (I pay for 25MBps but I'm lucky to get 1-2MBps at any point in the day), so I can get stuck in the loading screen (which will say "viewing cutscene" to the party) for several minutes. The new person bonus is a good indicator, but it's not always accurate in cases like that. I get mistaken for the new person a lot and I actually got yelled at once for "faking being new to get extra commendations" when someone else got the mapping achievement. ^.^"

And sorry about the healers. D: The second one sounded like quite a handful.

Well, I just meant if you're running a light party and 3 of the players have already queued in and it still says "viewing cutscene" for one of them, it's a safe bet they're the new one if a bonus message pops up. The same can be said for a full party with 7 people queued up and the 8th is still viewing the cutscene. Of course, there are extenuating circumstances, but 9 times out of 10, I'd be willing to put my gil down on that player being the one responsible for the bonus since the rest of us were already queued up immediately.

Went into cutters cry with my Lil tank. Now I am learning and happy for advice and I also am understanding about other people learning their roles. I start quite tentatively pulling smallish groups until I get a feel for what the whm can handle. The overheated monk immediately goes to pull everything I haven't in each room and I have to battle to get aggro. It's not too bad, feel that I have to learn how to handle stuff like this. It then becomes clear the whm just isn't healing much (i was in halitali recently where the healer openly declared he was gonna play a game of how low can he let my health go before he saves me which was surprisingly fun!) I'm surviving by popping every cd I can (again learning curve, I need this) and the smn is healing me. Eventually one group is just too much and we all die. The healer kicks off having a go, but nobody responds to him and we set off again. This time he makes a point of not healing me at all and I die over and over. After the first two bosses he then stands in a room on his own. The monk dashes off to pull everything so I follow to try and help and without a healer at all we just die repeatedly. I then notice on my way past that the healer is not afk as I'd suspected but is healing himself every now and again in order not to time out. I start a vote to kick him, but it's rejected by the test of the party. 10 more minutes of dying until we finally make it to the boss and I finally persuade the party to kick him. I was getting suspicious that they wanted me to leave but I'd invested too much time by this point and was annoyed. So we get a new healer and no more problems. I was enjoying tanking up until then ><

Oh come on now, the underhanded insult isn't necessary. I can heal every dungeon just fine, but whereas nearly every other dungeon I can sit in Clerics stance 99% of the time in the Arboretum I actually can't just rely entirely on my fairy hence why I qualify it as the second hardest. Not that it's some insurmountable challenge, but compared to the rest of the dungeons in the game the Arboretum is a step up. It's still no where near the vault though.

Your attitude isnt the best either though. Not having a crown over you head qualifies you as NON mentor, so there is no assumption there, since I dont think someone is dumb enough not to see that and if you had removed it (maybe there is a way) that means simply you didnt want to be there showing you were one, therefore you were not one. This among other things you said.

Ready check is a curtesy, maybe, just maybe, your healer had a reason NOT to be ready and having some curtesy expectations thought that before pulling you would ask.

Don't give up on it. You will always get idiots in parties. But as a tank if this happens again you have an advantage just leave, wait 30 mins(grab a coffee, some grub and a smoke), and go in again. :D

I decided to try out the 2nd dungeon and the healer bailed before we pulled once.

I always wondered why people in AV refuse to let the tank stun the dreaded swing, it makes the fight so much easier and to some point faster, since if you dont die because of that skill (many have latency it removes the risk of being hit by that swing because of that latency) is sensibly faster. I mean is so much easier...but most just prefer to hit hit hit dont care of the group all it matters is themselves and many more times then not they die becauuse they couldnt move out in time or didnt see it...or in my case even if I stated do not use your stuns pls, and they used it..it went resisted...I wish people would learn how to play as a group and understand that at times lowering a bit your dps for the good of all isnt a bad thing and doesnt make you a bad dps.....BUT maybe is my vision of it. MOre so if you are a ilvl 60 (i dont think that not using your stun every 2 secs so to speak will make an overall great difference in the fight)

2) they might not know about stun resistance
3) muscle memory issues

I mainly do trials/raids with my DRG, where 99% of enemies are stun resistant anyway. Whenever I'm in a dungeon, I tend to forget about the stun and use abilities on CD. Same goes for any class with a stun that does damage - so few enemies need to be stunned that I often forget about it.

WHM actually has two abilities now to regain mp. One is a straight 10% and the other is a refresh effect. Plus WHM has some pretty cool oh sh*t abilities. It's hardly a crippled job while SCH is some healing god.

they do that is the point...and said as much ..their reaction NO exception for any of them was,

One of them even said that I shouldnt ignore mechanic such as this referring to the *lower attack* if I wanted to be a good tank. Thought my job was go make sure that nobody died over some stupid boss mechanic..but...you know ...so many things still to learn

I have never once seen someone use a Ready Check in a dungeon OR a Trial. I don't really raid though, so I don't know if it's common there.
The only time I've seen a ready check is when I'm in a preformed party, before the leader queues for DF.

And the dungeon you are talking about, as a healer myself, I find very easy to heal. The only part that is difficult is the bee boss and only if the other members are not following mechanics. It is easy to avoid the big flood of needles. If everyone avoids them, it's an easy fight.

This is not a story, but more a disappointment with scholars. These last months have been hell whenever my boyfriend or myself encountered a sch in our duties, anything except savage and extremes, you know, the normal DF.
I don't know if it's just summoners wanting a quick queue and being clueless/lazy or the general sch "god" attitude.

I've only had one (yes one) good scholar in all our daily DF runs and it was in M1. This lil lalafell was everything you would love from a sch. Shields were up always, dots, tanks were healthy, he never had mp problems, used all he had to make the run just awesome and super fun. He even turned into a gorilla and left his fairy positioned with us. A dream. And he was the only one...

Besides the typical schs we used to encounter before who don't seem to understand succor is a prevention aoe rather than a yellow medica, and that E4E doesn't work if no enemy is attacking you, my boyfriend and I have met a new breed. The breed of "I don't give a damn about your hp or if my fairy can reach you, I'm a dps healer, therefore I dps."

And usually they go as follows:

4 man duties - Protect so we know they aren't afk. Cleric perma-on and broil all the things. No Adlo/succor before engaging anything but Adlo on cleric when tank is at 25% cause it looks pretty, keep on broiling. Missed the moment during his levelling career when Shadowflare was learned, or any onther means of dotting. Use Atherflow stacks merely for replenishing mp. Someone dies, no re-protect (why? I already did that at the beginning of the dungeon) or heals. Makes sure to stay at max casting range keeping his fairy with him so she can't heal, but she looks cute casting Whispering Down on her and her master.

8 man duties - All of the above except no protect, no ressurrect, sometimes dots and Shadowflare (yay), call everyone scrubs when they die. These guys are actually the main reason I refuse to join VA as astro anymore.

I'm a sch and I honestly rarely have to heal in any expert dungeons or lvl 60 dungeons at all, ofc it depends on tank but even if tank is just ''decent'' It's stil easy to pull off. Even times where I do more damage than actaull dps and nobody dies in my group. There are much as bad or good players anywhere in any dungeons, that's how it is in duty finder. The other day I did the lvl 60 roulette (forgot the name of the dungeon name the one with the big plant lady at the end) And I was so shocked how great the tank and dps was, even more funny if wasn't even a premade group I joined and tank was in dps stance most of the time and no deaths happened, it was that amazing really.

You did try to shift the blame to me in your post and acknowledged that dungeon as "probably" being the second hardest dungeon to heal in, so I was just using your own words there. My attitude was irrelevant. If you're going to dish it out, you better be willing to take it in return. You can't simply expect to sling mud at someone and not have them sling it back at you. That's absurd.

This healer was acting condescending from the very beginning and considering how much time I've put into the game, I just didn't really appreciate it. Yes, they can't see how much time I've put into the game, but don't just go assuming someone is bad when they haven't given you a reason to think that way.

Also, I am a mentor, but I never have the crown icon near my name because I just simply don't like it. It brings too much attention to myself and I'd rather do the good deeds without trying to seem like an attentionwhore. However, just because they don't have a crown near their name doesn't mean you should assume they aren't a mentor, which is what they did.

As for the ready check issue... I've been playing since CBT for ARR on PS3 and I've only run into maybe a handful of healers that entire time that actually requested a ready check in a normal dungeon. Something tells me this had more to do with them than me not having proper courtesy. As I said before, I'm keeping an eye on the healer's MP even as a tank, so I know what they're capable of in and out of boss fights. She had over 50% of her MP and didn't say "brb" or anything of the sort which is why I pulled just as I always do.

Considering how little MP a healer actually uses during that bee boss fight, hell, I could have pulled with her at 30% MP and she still would have been fine. In any case, if I lacked any kind of common decency, I'd be willing to take responsibility for this one being my fault, but as it stands... I've been on both sides of this situation, as a healer, and a tank, so I'm well aware of the different perspectives for these circumstances.

I have a simple rule of thumb. If I tell them I'm doing a big pull and they can't heal me through it, then we wipe, that's it. I don't do any more big pulls throughout the dungeon. I take it nice and slow by pulling one group at a time, maybe two, depending on the size and threat of the second one.

I'm not the kind of tank that keeps putting our healer in one dangerous situation after another, expecting them to just heal through it anyway, even though they've shown they can't. In any case, I just thought the entire thing was silly, honestly. If anything though, I'm even more surprised by the amount of support this ridiculous healer is getting...

Just did my Mentor roulette, got Brayflox normal. We had a GLA (hadn't unlocked PLD), myself (WHM), a MNK, and MCH. The GLA lost hate on the first two pulls (he didn't leave me much breathing room to type) and I told him Flash would help him keep aggro. No response. The tank isn't rolling on loot, pulling fast, and making my life pretty miserable. The GLA is also running around in circles when he aggros something (even bosses) making the poor MNK's life pretty miserable so the MCH asks them to stop. No response.

The GLA doesn't pick up adds in the first or second boss, thankfully the MCH and MNK are actively trying to keep things off me so I can keep everyone alive. We do wipe in the room right after the second boss because the GLA pulled about 6 mobs and I couldn't keep everyone healed with the mobs cancelling my heals. :c The MCH reminds the tank that they should be flashing pretty consistently to keep aggro. The MNK adds that they should do their job quest and unlock PLD since they had hit level 37 in that room. No response. I desperately want to add my own input, but the tank isn't giving me much breathing room to do anything other than heal the party. >.<

We make it to the final boss and I'm pretty worried about running out of MP or having the tank get 2-shot on me. I told him before he pulled that the boss heals their HP in the poison and needs to be moved out of it. No response. Thankfully the first 4 poisons are on the MCH and I. We're standing as far back as we can and spread far enough that the other doesn't get hit by the poison. I do try to throw out a single DoT and the tank nearly dies so I don't try that again. The tank gets hit with a poison and doesn't move the boss, they're still running in circles so the poor MNK and the tank are continuously walking into the poison. I ask the tank to move the boss. No response.

The boss goes down and I check the tanks gear, full level 30 crafted items, full str accessories, and a novice ring. I thank the DPS for their commendable effort and commend the MCH for actively blanking, binding, and stunning the mobs on me. I inform the tank that they should be wearing VIT accessories and that they should watch a video if they're not going to listen to advice given to them. And what does he have to say to all that? Absolutely nothing.

Not sure if I got a bot or just a really lazy player. :\ They didn't even have a leaf.

I guess I've just never felt that kind of struggle since I always run SCH when I heal, so all of the dungeons are EASY MODO for me, lol.

Never let anyone else try to control the flow of the run and pull mobs you didn't want. I will call people out all the time for this. They are not the tank, and if they want to control the flow they can go be a tank. My priority is keeping everything controlled, and keeping everyone alive. If I call someone out and they continue doing it, I will not taunt off of them. I have let dps die as a tank and as a healer for repeatedly doing that kind of crap to other tanks.

Did levelling roulette on my Monk yesterday and got Titan normal. Meh. Got teamed up with a German White Mage and a French Warrior & Summoner, all 3 sprouts.
Fight starts pretty normal, but then the tank drops after Titans first jump with the healer being OOM and we wipe. Next try I pay a bit attention to what the others are doing, and to no surprise the healer is spamming cure 2 only to go OOM pretty fast again.

I point this out to the healer, and he listens to my suggestion even though he newer said a single word throughout the whole run. After 2 more tries or so we make it past the heart phase, but this time the healer dies to or shortly after Titans ultimate.

Now I take a look at his gear, and oh boy, no head piece and chest was the lvl 5 class quest reward (I think of casting even). Why...? How...? I point this too out to him, and luckily he has some better gear on himself that he changed into. We try again and eventually manage to beat Titan. The healer dropped again at around 15% or so, but the Summoner did a good job on keeping me and the tank alive.

The whole deal took about an hour, but I managed to get them further on each try, so I guess they all managed to gain some helpful experience from this

Even the best of healers cannot carry a truly miserable party. Some dungeons are just easier (or harder) to handle when people are ignoring mechanics and failing at their jobs. All dungeons are simple with a good group - I consider difficulty more a measure of how things go when the party is bad.

I mark targets, and warn them if they attack a different target then the one marked they deal with aggro that is ripped from me and I proceed to do so. Some say how good they are in Healing themselves, be my guest I even went DPS only since they insisted in attacking different targets and pulling before me, I am not difficult.

Queue up for Mentor roulette on my Scholar, get Sastasha, pop Cleric and off we go. The DPS (bard and rogue) run ahead of the sprout tank at times, but he regains aggro fairly quickly and no one's ever near death, since Selene handles everything. Halfway through, the rogue pipes up with a "protect" in the party chat, and I say that it isn't needed at this level. So the rogue actually stops to cross-class Protect, then proceeds to spam it everytime she can (like before and after the bosses). Worried about her survival maybe...but then she proceeds to pull pretty much everything before the tank can get to the mobs. I can't with people sometimes.

Was running Cutter's Cry yesterday to level up my SMN/SCH, and we got a new person bonus message. I assumed it was the level 38 bean sprout DRG.

I was sorely mistaken.

It was the level 53 WAR.

Like. How. Why. I can't.
And it was the worst run I had ever experienced. That poor healer. I helped as much as I could but too many people were dying too quickly on the last boss, and avoiding his ice/lightning AoEs and the ball of lightning that stalks you for a few seconds. I'm surprised we made it out alive (relatively speaking). Went in with gear at 100%. Left with most around 50%. Yeeeeaaaahhh....
