I've been playing a long time and I have made note that the FFXIV team has given us holiday attire, interior and exterior items, and even mounts but we have yet to get any seasonal or holiday themed housing exterior skins. It would be fun to have the recipes unlocked as part of the holiday quest and then you can make them in your FC workshops, but only during the holiday event (for example, say you need a specific item that you can only get during the Moonfire Faire to make the exterior).
It would be a fun way to incorporate the holiday not just in yards and inside houses but also throughout a ward.
(Personally, my first thought was a Starlight Gingerbread Cottage/House/Mansion exterior ... how cute would that be?)
Personally, I wish they would give us recipes for the food furniture items from the season event too. If someone uses up all the charges on a food item and you're out of the season event, you have to wait until the next year and buy that item from the cash shop. :B Like maybe a recipe book would cost 99 event-tokens and would have material you could only get during the event.
I like this idea. Something akin to a "Seasonal Folklore Tome" that can be purchased with currency earned in something like a Fete from Ishgard Restoration to seasonal events would be a cool way to expand the content for DoH jobs.
I've pre-ordered the IRL FFXIV cookbook, can I haz limited edition in-game recipes plz? LOL
I've said it before, and will say it again for emphasis: May we please have full stone interior items such as partitions, pillars, steps, lofts, and furniture? I adore the Masonwork wall and floor but having to use wooden partitions and loft/stairs hits my "need for uniformity" nerve pretty hard.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let us be able to use the same wallpaper as main walls on partitions... It looks like shit having my main walls as House Borel Interior and my partitions don't even come close to matching
I asked before and will ask again - Paper Partition Walls please?
Using the current paper partition (door) as walls is not ideal as it:
- opens up as you run past it making a really noisy mess of several "thuds thuds thuds" as it opens and closes.
- causes your camera to clip through it (as all doors do) thus making it very uncomfortable for some players (nausea even)
While one can work around it by putting a solid wall behind it and sandwiching it with 4 paper partition door and a NPC vendor to force the doors to stay permanently "open" but that is just extremely wasteful of slots.
Please consider it SE! Thank you.
Smaller Beams/ Pillars
Bay Windows
Arch Windows
Lattice Windows
Smaller Partitions with changeable wallpaper
Grimoire's/ magic artifacts/ accessories as surface items (for easy placement)
Weapon models without mannequin- Placeable on wall or as a surface item
Witch hats without mannequin
Increased housing storage and Item placement for S/M/L and Apartments- Please and thank you SE
I'm not quite sure this is exactly where to put this but some housing items I wish we could have:
A smaller version of Godbert Manderville's gold statue from the Gold Saucer
A portrait of Hien
the Ishguardian Banner and the Doma Banner - like the GC banners
Haurchefant's shield to hang on the wall - there is a version in the House Fortemp's Manor (But would love Haurchefant's in particular)
Blank doors . you have blank walls that we can wallpaper please give us the doors too! it limits what walls we can use if we really want a door.
I'd like some sacks of flour, grain, beans and other similar food sources to use as decorations in my kitchen/storeroom.
Increase Interior housing item storage & placement by 100 for each house size & Apartment/ Fc Room
Apartments/ Fc rooms would have 200 item limit
Small houses would have 300 item limit
Medium would have 400 item limit
Large would have 500 item limit
Hanging vines & ivy (not potted ivy or potted plants but hanging like a curtain)
Stone pillars
Stone stairs
Desert/ Thavnair themed items: Bed, curtains, windows, flooring, exterior house, oasis ponds
Indoor tree Variety like Giant maples, oaks, willows (not a potted tree but as if the house was built around the tree)
Curved stone staircase- not a spiral staircase
Storage/ cupboard items as mentioned above like sacks of grain, chocobo feed, flour
Mini Cauldrons
Hearths with Cauldron attached
Stone or Wood & Hay flooring (wooden or stone floor with hay scattered about)
Rounded doors
More half-walls with no border/molding & interchangeable wallpaper
Lalafell/ Dwarf oriented housing items & lalafell sized items (Lore wise, I think Lalafell would 100% have custom made beds/ housing items especially from Ul Dah- not everything has to be human+ sized)
More scenery Walls WITHOUT the ugly Scape border or lines on the screen - Stop limiting these items by sticking an ugly border on them; please.
Thinner wooden beams & pillars
Pillars & beams with intricate designs
Rounded doorways with stone & wood borders (similar to the marble wall, only stone & wood)
Make house decorating easier & more player friendly, please
Players shouldn't have to use 3rd party programs to fix decorating issues
Please show some love to players who like medieval & Renaissance themed decorations
Honey Bee Apiaries
Bird house
Rusted parts/ robots/ junkyard/ gears/ pipes/ very old weapon parts
Thavnair housing themes
Sharlayan Housing themes
Spooky twisted cottage/ tree's with hanging moss
Cobwebbed items
Watermill (House with attached watermill with a river on the plot?)
Windmills (house with windmill?)
I personally want a Giant spider pet in my front yard in a giant cobwebbed forest
Going to put this here again so it doesn't slip by developer eyes, please make housing and apartments available to alts on the same world and account.
Outside of that request, Lalafell sized furniture would be splendid.
Let us adjust the height and angle of furniture without having to resort to glitches to elevate items. This is a mind numbing process that greatly detracts from the "fun" of house decorating. It is also particularly frustrating when you accidentally put something you have glitched up back in your backpack because of a sneeze or accidental misclick.
Thank you for your time.
For immersion purpose, we really need a flash toilet as housing item.
Lattice & bay windows

Minor EW spoiler but... the dieselpunk Garlean radios with the big chunk of crystal ore in them. Maybe have them playing Home Beyond the Horizon too like the music boxes when switched on for added creepiness/melancholy points (and.residual protection from tempering for anyone in your house not awoken to the Echo in case a Primal happens to be summoned as well! ;)
Really though, the item I would most love to have is still the nation banners for the non-starting citystates (Ishgard, Ala Mhigo, Radz-at-Han, Bozja, Dalmasca, Sharlayan, Hingashi, Doma, Nag'xia, Garlemald), and I'm sure I'm not the only one, I'm certain other players would love to have them for their houses/rooms/apartments too! (I know I'm especially after an Ala Mhigan banner).
Proper amount of space limit for Large houses, at least 800-1200ish, due to their size in comparison medium and small.
It is way over due.

I wanted to share this. This is from one of my houses in ESO I created this indoor garden. The housing decoration system in ESO is far superior and I so wish FFXIV were more like this. I walled this room off and used furnishing flowers and plants plus other building part's to create a fountain in the room coming out of the wall. I hope FFXIV sees the possibilities with housing like it did with glamours.
This house is actually a pyramid it is massive, and the property around it has many many additions I added and platforms. This was my end game in ESO decorating and collecting houses and furnishings. I miss the houses even though I like ESO it became too much like some other MMO I won't mention. The forums became so toxic and the gatekeeping was getting worse.
Please consider letting us dye the base of the figurines / models in the game as the crystal blue sometimes do contrast badly with the model itself.
Can you just add more of the existing basic looking chairs and everyday tabletop items that you've had in the game since 1.0 to the accessible to player lists? You literally don't even have to make new art assets or anything. Think the stuff in East Shroud huts or Southern Thanalan buildings etc..
Can we talk about yards? Theres not a lot of things to put on a small house yard if you think about it.
Wooden Staircase with a railing
More fireplace types (with cooking pot/ cauldron inside)
Old European Cottage themed decor

I still would like a garden please. No house, just rentable garden space
Increased item interior limit for placed items & storage for all house sizes
Everything Sharlayan that appears in the Inn Room especially these items.

Stone pillars
Stone steps
Curved steps (not spiral)
Arched pillars- wood & stone
Thavnair pillars
Thavnair windows
Desert scenery/ Snow scenery with falling snow- NO MORE UGLY PHASMASCAPE BORDERS OR SCREENS PLEASE. Sceneries should look as authentic as the area & not like a screen with an ugly border.
I don't use the phasmascape items because you can see the lines in the screen & they're really impossible to get angled correctly also they all have a weird fog animated across them.
Arched ceiling items- not all ceilings have to be flat
Increased Interior item limit & storage for ALL houses.
The XIV Devs need to recreate intricate player house designs, so they have an actual understanding of how poorly developed it currently is & understand why players keep asking for the same fixes that have never been implemented. They should stream it too
Smaller tree stump tables
Indoor trees with slots in the tree, to place small tabletop items inside of the tree slot
Future Request: Significantly increase housing storage, both interior and exterior.
20 storage slots for a small house is nowhere near enough for all the housing stuff we hoard(people like changing their housing decoration/theme and housing stuff can be too expensive to just throw stuff out because you dont have enough space).
Increase Interior item limit & storage for all house sizes & apartments

My current housing wishlist is mostly based on functionality. With how the ward system functions I understand that most of this would realistically only work with interiors, and I'm fine with that.
1) Remove all placement restrictions(except obviously in the immediate vicinity of the entrance). Keep the option for surface adhesion for when you want it, but stop tying my hands for where I can put stuff. Let me put things on the wall columns, on the ceiling, inside other objects, etc. In ESO I used to hide lights in the walls so you could get the lighting effects without seeing the light itself.
2) Allow rotation on more than just the one axis. I should be able to rotate objects upside-down and sideways, with any combination thereof.
3) Remove the distinction between indoor and outdoor furnishings. Let me put trees and a boat in my house if I want to.
3) The housing UI is god-awful. The whole thing needs a complete overhaul.
4) Way more lighting options, with varying colors, levels of intensity, and effective light radius.
5) More furnishings in general. I didn't realize how limited the furnishing selection was until I started browsing the furnishing preview. Trickle-feeding one or two pieces every few months just isn't going to cut it.
There's more(there's always more) but these items would go a long way to making housing the robust feature it should be.
Interior:
Increase storage & placement limit for all house sizes & apartments
Circular entrances/ wooden & stone arches
Circular windows
Bay windows
Exterior items:
Pumpkin Patch
Giant Tree house (literal house with a door & windows)
Pool/ stone pool
Witch hut house
Hill house/ Mound house (like a hobbit)
Giant Oak Trees with roots
Patio Furniture
Tents
Radz at Han exterior items
I would like to see something in the similar vein as the unmelting ice lofts but in a verdant style. where the top would be level with a grass/flower theme and the bottom side would have vines/other foliage hanging down.
Also some collision fixes with the current verdant partitions would be a good QoL.
For the moment, all I want to request is a nice outdoor firepit that is just a little smaller than the Cold Knight's Cookfire and doesn't have the seating. As much as I like the Cold Knight's Cookfire, it's very bulky and doesn't afford a lot of options for different setups. Nor does it nest well with our various decks or the new gazebo.
A reasonably sized bonsai tree for indoors (it would make an excellent garden)
Indoor sand (instead of using carpet)
Indoor grass (Morbal does not count)
More door types
Make partitions and doors all compatible. Basically if there's a marble partition, there should be a marble door that goes with it.
Forever closed paper partition
4x sized wooden lofts. Basically it's the same thing as what we have but in a grid of 4 so we can use less space when creating ceilings, raised floors etc...
Remove "you cannot place this here" near stairway
Make a ceiling-to-floor version of the White Rectangular Partition
