Has anyone quit healing?

Firaja doesn't refresh astral fire? I am actually surprised. Welp, that punishes me for not levelling it

I reckon it would be unlikely. After all, they don't touch yoshi-p's class. Can anybody remember a time it got nerfed or had severe action cuts after he announced it was his main? I can't :P

Only one time was blm nerfed and that was the start of stormblood when they reduced fire 4's potency from 280 to 260 before bumping it back up to 280 and then buffing it again in 4.4 to 300.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who sees how obviously BLM is favored over every single other job. You can just look at how decked out it is, in jeweled gowns and crowns, and think, "when're they gonna share some of those excessive resources with me?" :c

Unfortunately, they're still stuck with the mentality healers actual heal in this game. I almost wish we could take the balance team and sit them down in front of a slew of players at varying skill levels and show them just how little healing you can get away with if you're reasonably competent. Maybe then they'll understand why spamming Glare/Malefic/Broil isn't fun.

I've been playing SCH since SB. I want to quit healing but I can't since I'm a healer in my raid group. No one wants to play healer in my raid group.

Nope, but SE is trying my patience with these patches if 6.0 gets rid of mana or the idea of worrying about mana and takes another blow at AST cards im switching to SCH. a far cry from what it was in 4.0 but I refuse to do WHM.

Yeah I did. Used to be a SCH main in HW and SB, loved the job to the death in HW and still enjoyed it in SB. I am just sick and tired of the 80-90% GCD spent on spamming a button to DPS game design which just gets worse and worse with each expansion because SE is giving us more overpowered oGCD heals to cope with every imaginable situation. It's a hot mess imo. I picked a HEALING job because I want to HEAL not spam one button to DPS. Ultimately decided to play DPS and all of a sudden I was having fun.

Originally, I was only planning on playing for the summer (seeing as I do have my studies to return to), but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't hoping to come back now and then during periods of downtime. I think, however, that I'll be putting my grimoire back on the shelf when my sub next runs out. Scholar has just lost its appeal in my eyes from how it was neutered, and I realised this wholeheartedly when I caught myself having much more fun playing other tank and dps jobs. And that, I think, is very unfortunate. I might come back to play on occasion -- if time and studies permit, of course -- but, as of now, I find myself more drawn to other games.

SCH main...been that way since 2.0 really. I don't like the way they gutted the job from what it used to be, but I don't like playing most other jobs so if i want to play I have to play healer (occasionally RDM if I am gonna dps).
SCH used to have cleric stance, aero, thunder / blizzard II (for the instant damage aoe which was fine since they pulled thunder for it), bio, bio II, miasma I and II, Bane, ruin and ruin II, Energy drain. Lived in Cleric, would use Lustrate on tanks back then to keep up time unless I needed stance out for a gcd heal. Usually the fairy could keep them out of the danger zone though.

Then they pruned and peeled away the job I loved. It went from having so much to do and control to...a fairy you really can't command, a nuke, a dot, and an aoe for damage. Thankfully they gave us Energy Drain back. That was really painful...though I really don't know why we "forget it" between arcanist and SCH. Why not call it Osmose/Aspir or something instead for sch?

This is really what the dev team has to come to terms with. They can't keep shoving more healing tools on us while also tuning bosses so incredibly low. It's ridiculous just how little tank busters there are nowadays, and how little healing you can get away with as a result. I'm repeating myself but they need to pick a lane come 6.0. Either healers are combat medics who alternate heals and DPS. In which case, give them a proper rotation of some sort. Or they're healers meant to occasionally help out with damage. In that scenario, ramp up the outgoing damage and scale back on the sheer amount of options healers have. Basically, pick a dedicated focus and make it interesting. Instead of this half-arsed approach they've taken.
