Nice! Thanks for this. :)
Playing with a bad mood was really awful.
I made few mistakes that made me feel terrible, at least I did not cause wipes. Lesson learned.
Heh. Responded to a linkshell plea for healer wp hard in prog. They were at last boss had wiped 3 or 4 times already. Asked me if i knew about doom mechanic, an I'm all like "duude... i got this." Tried to get fancy with my dps, got doom on myself "one more stone 3 then I'll heal" my heal was interrupted. And i died. Wipe. Fuuuuuuk. Cleared np next pull. 3 comms. I felt... bad... and dirty... sooorrry guyses
Actually I found a place for Freeze on my AoE rotation :P
Now before you jump into my neck, its actually only usuable on very few scenarios where I know big pull mobs will take a long while to die (like on synced lvl 60 dgs).
I pretty much do a triple flare rotation with RS and LL (F3-F2-F2-F2-FLARE-Convert&SC-FLARE-MaxEther-FLARE-Transpose)
Now after all this, LL has about 6 or less seconds. If at least 3 or more enemies still have enough HP, I do a double Freeze there with the last LL seconds! (since just casting F3 wouldnt give me a second MP tick cause LL). Then I quickly F3 since im at UI3 and back to normal AoE rotation!
td;dr: freeze is still bad
So I just ran Xelphatol as WHM for perhaps the first time ever. I don't play WHM frequently, so I'm not as well-practised on it as I am SCH or AST, but I know what my skills do, at least.
For the entirety of that run, my strategy consisted of: Pop Divine Seal + every regen spell I had on the tank, after they were finished pulling and had established aggro, hop into Cleric Stance and blast away. Tank's HP dropping? Hop out of Cleric Stance, pop Tetra on them, maybe a Cure, and we're good to go.
Now I'm genuinely confused as to why I see so few WHMs actually using their regen spells, Medica II in particular. The last time I tanked a dungeon (Snowcloak, I think), I remember getting a mentor WHM, who I swear only ever used Cure throughout the entire run.
Seriously. What's wrong with Medica II? I don't even really care if the WHM doesn't want to DPS. It's a bit irritating if they just want to stand there, sure, but it's not their job to DPS, just to heal. But why not even cast one of their most powerful and convenient healing spells to make their job even easier?
What's even worse is when they use regen and still spam cure even though regen is enough to keep you at even health
I'd been experiencing some hefty internet issues during the day (which I informed my party soon as we loaded in) and began A4.
We had a decent group but it was clear we weren't going to pass the fight after the first 2 wipes, and were discussing whether to abandon. The monk in our party decided he did not want to abandon, and chose instead to simply pull the boss before we could vote. This happened 5 times, unable to leave the fight while it was active, unable to vote to leave or kick, or even submit a harassment report...
Karma stuck, however, when on the last pull, my internet KO'ed me and my internet drop made me somehow invulnerable and thus never reset the fight. Some of my FC members took the time to ask me not to log back in until a report for harassment was completed on our monk pulling friend (via TS). Once done, the rest of the party were happy to sit dead and wait for the timer to expire on the fight, for the benefit of the monk who had to clear the fight.
Personally, I always end up with WHMs that use Medica II as an answer to everything.
Someone sneezed? Medica II!
Tank is solid af and can live on one regen? Medica II + Cure bomb!
There is still 15s left on previous Medica II? Time to Medica II!
Raidwide singular AOE? Medica II + Medica a few times to top people off!
