Do I have to start over? Theres no way I can go from Colibri Pink to Snow White?
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I've been trying for so long and this worked! Went from midnight blue to my coveted ink blue. For anyone in the same position, I followed this suggestion and fed 2 pears and 1 apple (getting the new feather proc only on feeding the last apple).
i am in the deepwood and ink blue loop. deepwood + valfruit get ink. ink + pineapple = deepwood. any advice?
after feeding equal amounts of valfruit, plum, and pinapple he became a Sylph Green from Goobbue Grey, so he's one step away from snow white? should i just feed the equal amounts a bit more?
I finally got the Shadow Blue that I've been dying to get (no pun intended) since we started growing fruits in our garden. It took a total of 24 feeds and 2 complete redos. I experimented a lot, mostly trying to figure out things on my own in my first feed but gave up after getting Ink Blue for a third time. The second set of feeding I went off of a lot of other posters results here and a couple other places but ultimately ended up getting set back to Regal Purple three times (three strikes, you're out.)
Frustrated and unsure where to go from this point, I took my girlfriend's advice and just fed it another Han Lemon and then did a massive feeding at once, going off the anecdotes from this thread: http://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/commen...arding/ck1tpgi
One person was able to get Shadow Blue from one feeding of 26x berries, 17x pears, 13x apples from scratch (Desert Yellow.) Another got Russet Brown and another Charcoal Grey. I figured that Charcoal Grey would at least put me in the ballpark, but the RNG gods decided to smile upon me and just give me my Shadow Blue. :)

I know this isn't the most helpful or efficient means to get there but I thought it might help someone. Myself and another have gotten it this way now, with the other two at least close. So if you have the resources and don't mind giving it a shot, it might be worthwhile. I know I'm happy with the result. :)
Anyway, good luck to everyone trying to get the color they want. I think it's safe to say there is definitely some RNG involved here. It can suck but eventually you'll find the right information and/or give it the right feed and you'll get it.
If anyone wants to know what I fed it (with feather procs) on my first two experimental feeds, I'll post it in case that may help someone as well.
Hello. I've been following this thread and my experience has contradicted a lot of the assumptions here. I was able to get the colour I wanted by using the following assumptions:
1) Rather than using the colour chart, use this: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...li=1&sle=true#.
2) Rather than thinking of colours as exact values, consider them as ranges or zones , and the values in this sheet as approximate midpoints for those ranges. Exact matches aren't needed because there is a limited number of colours available for manifestation rather than the full spectrum.
3) The values on feed are bound by RNG. All fruits alter all three RGB values simultaneously in some way and trying to pinpoint rng for all three is impractical. The behaviour trend of each fruit (Trend, not norm!) is explained in the fruit description.
Cont'd
4) The "Plumage will change in 6 hours" message appears always on first feed and indicates the start of the timer after which the colour number value change from feed becomes permanent.
The "Chocobo is starting to grow new feathers!" message is indication that you just crossed "ranges" into a new colour. All fruits proc but you need to sculpt and push to a different zone using different quantity and order of feed.
5) I found it personally much easier to feed one type of fruit at a time and proceed based on the results, since it's easier to tell the general direction the values will take with only one altering factor.
I'd like to know if anyone could corroborate these assumptions since I've found they worked for me the best.
It's the list of RGB values for the dyes. Even if they're guesses and not exact, they still represent a pretty good estimate of how the RGB values of the various color spaces relate to each other. Which is really the most important thing, having a numerical representation for how colors differ and how fruits change that color. It allows you to, for instance, have a better idea of how a gloom purple differs from a regal purple. And if you want to move from one to the other, you can make an educated guess as to how you'll need to move. This seems better to me than just taking single steps. I'm almost positive that these color spaces do not exist on a clean RGB grid that you can just transition easily from one dye to another in an orderly fashion. Crossing the boundary between two colors may require you to move in multiple directions at once, and not necessarily at 1:1:1 ratios between primary colors.
Well, if you want to do it, your green is probably too low so you need to bring that up. My guess is 6 pineapple, 6 plum.
I want to say it would be fewer plums than that from desert yellow, but I honestly don't recall. You'd have to dig through the thread to find what others have used.
I was able to do ink>black with 1 valfruit + 3 pineapples to bring up R & G and lower B
I would guess 2 pineapple + 2 valfruit to bring up your R values while keeping your G&B steady would help to move from deepwood>black
I've tried going for Dalamud Red, fed it Xelphatol Apple x32, O'Ghomoro Berries x22, Mamook Pear x15 (in order 7 apples> 10 berries> 8 pears> 25 apples> 12 berries> 7 pears) and ended up with a Blood Red ....what do I need to do to make it Dalamud Red from this point? :S
Edit: Fed it 2 Berries only ("grow new feathers appeared"), here's hoping it will be Dalamud Red in 6 hours...
Edit 2: 6 hours later, got Dalamud Red, my life is now complete! :D
FYI. From Ice Blue, if you feed 6 pears, it becomes Celeste Green.
I currently have my chocobo at Rolanberry Red and want to get him to Soot Black but am not sure where to proceed from here. I am trying to avoid getting stuck in the purple/red loop i was in before. Any help is appreciated.
Sylph green + 1 plum gets me celeste green.
Celeste green + 1 apple gets me sylph green.
Repeat
(been aiming for snow white orz)
If I wanna head toward Cactuar, or Hunter green from Apple, what do you think I should feed? Deepen green do nothing. Should I lighten red more or deepen blue?
ok i am at Deepwood green (36/35/30)... why i dont get soot black?...
Hey guys ! Any advice to get Soot black from shadow blue ?
I was at currant purple , fed 1 pear and give me shadow blue :/
Thx ;)
I hope you all don't mind that I put the screenshots in my site as a collection. http://ffxiv-chocobo.deenbots.com/
the site is still bare, tho. I'm still trying to gatter what I can.
Not sure who is updating the chart but I had regal purple and I fed pears and got rolonberry red color. Then fed berries and it changed back to regal purple, both of these combos aren't on the image.
Would it be easier to get Lotus Pink by starting over, or starting from Rolanberry Red? Thinking about it...
Sylph green + valfruit gave me ice blue
ice blue + pineapple gave me sylph green
now waiting for sylphgreen + pineapple >_>
if this doesnt work maybe I should go to celeste green first...
edit:
sylph green + pineapple (until feather grow message, for me it needs one only) = snow white
I wanted to get Iris Purple in a single attempt, didn't happen though.
This is what I fed my chocobo:
Valfruit x 4 -> feather message
Valfruit x 1 -> feather message
O'Ghomoro berries x 1 -> feather message
O'Ghomoro berries x 1 -> feather message
O'Ghomoro berries x 1 -> feather message
O'Ghomoro berries x 1 -> feather message
O'Ghomoro berries x 1 -> feather message
O'Ghomoro berries x 1 -> feather message
Doman plum x 1 -> feather message
Doman plum x 1 -> feather message
Doman plum x 1 -> feather message
Doman plum x 1 -> feather message
Doman plum x 1 -> feather message
Doman plum x 1 -> feather message
My Chocobo became Ash Grey then. I didn't feed it enough Valfruit. ><.
Second try from Ash Grey:
Valfruit x 1 -> feather message
Valfruit x 1 -> feather message
Result: Iris Purple. ^_^
If I had fed it more Valfruit in the beginning, I probably would have gotten Iris Purple sooner. At least I guess so. ^^
I don't know if I fed too many fruits (total: 7 x Valfruit, 6 x Berry, 6 x Plum), but I used that calculator to at least have an idea which amount of which fruit a had to give my chocobo.
I'd post a picture but the spoiler tags don't work and I don't want to make this post even bigger than it already is ...
Welp. From Apple green I fed 8 berries with no message, 2 pears with no message, and 3 plums with 1 message. We'll see what happens.
Finally got 1 of my chocobos to the color I wanted...Hunter Green!

Now 3 more to go.... :-)
This game is totally mocking me. I'm mainstream and I'm aiming for soot black.
I got deepwood green -> kobold brown -> deepwood green -> ink blue.
I like how I'm almost there, but seems to miss it all the time. D:
here's is how I got from midnight blue to soot black.I don't know how I got to midnight blue but I kept track of all feedings after I got there.
please note that I fed all fruits in the order listed.
At Midnight blue-fed 2 valfruit,2 pinapples,1 plum,1 pineapple,2 apples,2 pears. this got me to rolanberry red.
At Rolanberry red-fed2 pears,apple,pear,3 berries. this got me to Ink blue
At Ink Blue-fed 2 pineapples. this got me to kobold brown.
At Kobold brown-2 plums. this got me to soot black.
I hope this helps.
Any one know how to get Ink Blue from Kobold brown? i keep jumping from Kobold brown and soot black :(
Hi guys !
I'm trying to get Grape purple from regal purple.
I started from Gloom Purple, got Abyssal blue after, and now I'm stuck in a regal-rolanberry-regal loop :(
I follow this : https://i.imgur.com/1v6tftB.png
Thanks for advices !
edit : I tried with 1 berry and 2 apples and got 2 proc messages with the apples, we'll see :/
Edit 2 : Rolanberry.
Trying with this : http://ffxivchocobo.com/ had a proc after 1 berry, 1pear and 3 plums (instead of 4 plums), results after dinner *crosses fingers*
Apple green > Celeste green with 1 feather message from a plum.
Fed 2 pears.
Will update with results.
I made a calculator that seems to be performing well for most in 1-2 attempts. ffxivchocobo.com
Try this:
Kobold Brown » Soot Black
RGB(42, 28, 23) » RGB(37, 35, 30)
Difference: Red: -5, Green: 7, Blue: 7
Feed the following to change to your desired colour:
2 × Plums
Trying to get Dalamud red, used 33 Apples, 22 Berries and 15 Pears (saw someone else use this) and ended up with Mud Green lol
Used a few more apples and it became Rust Red?
Waiting to see what a few Valfruit will do
Hi, my chocobo is currently lavender purple (Not lavender blue, purple - that's what it says in the companion menu). Does anyone know how I can get to corpse blue? Thanks ^^
Hello! From the original yellow, I fed my Chocobo 10 Plums the first time to get Bone White, and another 5 Plums on the second go to achieve Snow White. ^^
My recent experiments:
Shadow Blue -> 2 Mamook Pears = Woad Blue
Woad Blue -> 2 Mamook Pears = Morbol Green
Morbol Green -> 2 Mamook Pears = Hunter Green
every session both feeds were successful (new feathers).
Gonna see how it goes with 3 apples next.

I got turquoise green. What I did was I kept feeding it berries till it was royal blue . then fed it mamook pears till it became the right shade.
