I've always kind of wondered how it works in the JP servers and the devs with this because their age of consent is extremely low compared to the US. Like, I wonder if stuff like this is given a blind eye there if it occurs.

If anyone has knowledge about this I'm actually curious to know. Not even trying to be funny.

Child abuses is a big problem in Japan. Don't know if I can link something like that here but is easy to find reports with relevant stats.

And then there are countries where its illegal to be gay. Or where its forbidden that girls can go to school. Ever wondered how they see us?

Such laws are designed to accommodate individuals of similar age entering a relationship. Much like how it's the same in many other countries. After all, there's a pretty huge difference between someone who is 14 entering a relationship with someone who is 13 compared to someone who is 50 entering a relationship with a 14 year old...

It's pretty gross to think about, really - but it's quite obvious that a lot of the people seeking to downplay the risks to minors are probably well into their 20's, 30's and 40's. Maybe they're even older than that.

Plenty of times you have to go OOC, you can't just do anything to other's characters so you ask for permission. Some things will also be clarified OOC, Going AFK, Having to go, etc.
Having a quick chat with the person behind the character takes away nothing before you start a scene, especially if it's the kind that has erotic involvement.

This isn't about Ryne's rights, it's about not sexualizing children's bodies, whether real or fictional period. If nothing can be done about Pedophiles that doesn't mean they should be unsupervised and just wait until something bad happens because oh well. There's a reason they get put on a list, would you be comfortable leaving your kid alone with people who have these thoughts? Probably not. I think most of us have a lot stronger feelings about what should be done with these people but that wouldn't fly in a public discourse.

Also.. arguing for using mods on a public forum for the game that forbids mods, is kind of putting a target on your back, no? Like no amount of talking will ever make it an okay thing. If you ever post a screenshot with your name on it, or talk about it in-game you'll find the likelyhood of getting banned increasing. Again, most people couldn't care less for mods, nor erp, and no we aren't correlating that people who do either have anything to do with children, but there are people defending nsfw mods depicting children, and how pedophiles really are the victims here, because you can't change your "wiring", maybe think about that and stop with the strawmans.

Putting minors at risk? 2 words: School shootings. Mostly a US problem. And people are complaining about the low age of consent in other countries.


This whole topic is about NSFW and ERP. Not child abuse or putting minors on risk. We are about to celebrate the 100th page of this topic and the only argument I can see is "we have to protect the kids!". Like people saying the ERP comm is full of pedophiles.

This thread's premise isnt about underage NSFW content, either. Its about NSFW mods. And like I ve said before: watch the interview closely. Lewding lalafell, the twins or ryne is strictly forbidden within the ERP comm. What the hell do you want more?


You want to protect your kids? Raise and educate them!

If that is not enough, you have to ban all NSFW stuff. And cars, cigarettes, sugar, drugs, alcohol, religions, games in total and everything what potential hurt your children's mental or physical health. Good luck.

There's a direct parallel, since NSFW content is forbidden by the development team/terms of service and some players are being very brazen and visible in their attempts to advertise and distribute it to players they cannot guarantee are of legal age. To say nothing of the unfortunate fact that the game's community has given form to a number of scandals involving grooming at 'venues', certain Free Companies and also within even at least one prominent Discord channel related to FFXIV.

Is this really a game problem though? If it has been around since chat rooms, this is mostly an online problem and one that can't be fixed. Like I said it is mostly a parent issue, not a final fantasy, community or developer issues. That is the only thing that can work.

And about the mods. Ryne is not real, so don't care what people do to her.

The community seems like they want to see no evil. They rather it be done out of the game than in the game. Yet that does not fix the problem, it only makes you feel good about the issue.

Some people make trap PFs too. I got caught in one.

They say stuff that seems okay like “Games, fun, 10million giveaway, house remodeling party!” and when you go to it, it’s just all ERP and advertisements :( no mention of ERP or +18 in the PF. I was quite disappointed, and a kid could easily stumble into that.
There wasn’t even a 10million giveaway either :( unless they were giving away 10mil worth of girls, I didn’t stick long enough to find out, and when I left, the Lalafell bouncer followed me out and emote-spammed at me. Was weird.
