Anything that offers too much competition, is something the RMT will make an effort to monopolize. If we're going to have HNMs, make them instanced. That way, competition becomes less problematic.

Being good means defeating the content that everyone has access to, when others are not capable of doing so.
Nothing to do with having the best bot, being the team that claimed that day, or being the lucky guy that got the item with the 1% droprate.
I'll think of you when I get bored of my current signature, however.
All caps or underlinging doesn't give more solidity to your theories. Quite the contrary.
Now the content is accessible (as it should be). Crank the timer up to 24 hours and it becomes much less accessible.
And since the game doesn't have that much content, it's obvious that they should focus in putting in content that's accessible to everyone, not just to a selected l337 few (read: the few that can affort wasting time camping stuff for hours on end).
So your only point for playing is "gear"? That sounds like a rather shallow motivation to me.Quote:
If gear isn't rare what is the point in even playing???? So everyone can be the same and have everything??
The point in playing should be having fun, and waiting for something to pop isn't exactly my idea of fun.
[QUOTE=Eekiki;83870]I don't completely disagree with you, but I'd like to point out that just because you claim something to be a fact, that alone does not make it a fact. Klaus was not insulting you by calling your alleged facts into question.
Whatever your reasons, your responses are poorly worded. I'm not besmirching your opinion, but please stop responding unless you can slow down and proofread your posts at least a little bit. You're not going to get anywhere with anyone until you do, because it's too difficult to understand what you're trying to say.

attention deciat disorder is not strictly concentration only, its a complete weird wiring of the brain, and effects people in many ways. One of it is concentration (the most over dianoges (sp) version) Alot of it is poor memory, improper hand eye coordination (which is what I have), poor balance (again is what I have) and a hard time expressing thought.
grammar can also be an issue as well as spelling.
on ps3 and don;t have tools to help.
Heat of the endgame? How about making the fights challenging. Really challenging. So that it's fun and you'll get your item when you down the NM. I don't have time to sit on my computer for 8+ hours a day camping an NM for one item. Sorry, but I do have a social life apart from FF14. Couple with 40 hours of work a week, I don't have excessive free time to play video games. But I WOULD like to enjoy endgame content TOO.
It's not a debate over instanced vs 24hr... I simply want 24hr NMs and that does not take away from having instanced NMs.. I agree with both.
But no more 15min NMs with high drop rates. If you put roaming NMs make them 24hrs, and if you make instances give it some limit per week or limit in general, all with low drop rates.
If they are hard enough not everyone will be able to kill them , like i said i rather die, try again , try diferent combinations and party set ups, skills strategies, than stare at my screen for 3h doing nothing. Is boring .
When they get easy (wich it does not happen over night, i remember the HNMS in ffxi to be hardly camped because their difficulty back in the days), developers have more new and challenging fights ready to be released. Is how i think a MMO should be , constantly evolving. Not making a 24h mob drop an item now that is gonna be the best till the end of times.Thats just boring.
Why cant there ever be a normal discussion without all the name calling and rudeness in these forums....
Typical answer.
I'm aware that WoW is lackluster of challenge since WoTLK, but not all of it is/was.
I'm just saying, the community recognizes these groups that are able to top other groups with the same gear because of play-style and skill. The developers even recognize these groups, sponsors, etc.
250+ replies in 3½h, what the fuck.
Completly gree. But 24h repop time does not = hard to get.I knew many stupid people with ridil (since people were using that as an example) because the fights were to easy.
I can think of millions of ways to make the road to have the best gear more enjoyable than HNM mechanics.
He's just probably frustrated no one else but his LS mates are seeing it his way, fighting with "baddies" about how mechanics in this game should really be done. I mean, if I was on his end and I was still trying to fight for my vision I'd be frustrated too, but then again, I would have probably stepped away from the thread a while ago ;\
anything past the first day has aged. And you were talking about ffxi not ffxiv. In ffxiv everyone has see or done everything already Same for ffxiv also. 24 hour timers do not make anything more "difficault" It jusr makes it less acessable to those who are not NEETs.
I think just taking the time to rank up your jobs is fairly time consuming. I don't see why we need hard NM's that require many hours of waiting to fill the time. I don't think making gear harder to get fills the void of limited content.
Because you say so?
You really love your all caps, don't you?Quote:
And since there is less content it would be better to MAKE THE GEAR ACTUALLY HARD TO GET SO PEOPLE DON'T CRY FOR MORE CONTENT ON FORUMS 3 MONTHS LATER.
More content every 3 months seems a quite reasonable timeframe actually. The problem of the lack of content is exactly solved by adding content, for sure not by making content less accessible, so that the content that is there doesn't matter as the 99% of the population can't even touch it.
Dude that would just make ToD harder to track and no one would get it BUT THE PEOPLE WHO REALLY ARE ON 24/7.
You go to NM. You or someone else kills it. Wait 21 hours (HAVE A REAL LIFE). Repeat.
If it was 12 hours then who the heck is going to be on at 6 am or something to get ToD?
I was in the marching band in high school. After two years in the band, we were given varsity letters. The principal made a big fuss because we weren't "athletes", and therefore should not be allowed to wear our letters on varsity jackets. He wanted us to wear letters that were a different color and on cheap-ass windbreakers instead. He said allowing band members to wear their letters the same as athletes "cheapened" the award.
Of course, the pom-pom squad got to wear their letters with pride, because jumping around with mopheads and flashing your panties at the crowd is a much more demanding talent than playing a musical instrument while sprinting backwards and changing directions on a dime.
But I digress...
Given an infinite amount of time, everyone will eventually get it anyway, so what's the problem?
Hey, how's about we put labels on the drops, so the people who get it first can have the low number label to let everyone know they got it before everyone else?
Visch and scar a bit of a warning, What you say and do on these forums does effect you on ffxiv. You can easily get banned if you keep insulting people. How can you be leet if you can't play.
Also
No one on any mmo was ever "LEET" there is no such thing, someone was always better then somebody so if your goal is to be "LEET", mmo are not for you.
No gear is worth a 24 timer, all it did was make ppl sick, cause unneeded family stress and all around made the gane not fun.
If you think mmo are about being "LEET", then you never played an mmo.
Only tweens thought this. And soon regreated when thet couldn't get a job or lost a hubby or a wify or a girlfriend or boyfriend.
MMo shouldn't rule ppls lives, nor should anyone insault others over trivial stuff like 24 timers.
I have "retarded" cousins. Do not use that word again, its really pathitic you did.
So you're saying that SE should not introduce new content often because you're afraid that it's going to replace what you earned before?
So people should just endlessly camp the same mobs over and over and over to get a shot at those few valuable items, getting bored out of their mind? I see, I see...
The little detail you're missing is that people that "HAVE A REAL LIFE" don't decide their daily schedule in accordance to their MMORPG one.
This not to mention the obvious detail that the ones that aren't in the right timezone are put at an obvious disadvantage.
There has to be something for both casual and hardcore players to enjoy. I'm not saying that casual players shouldn't have anything. I'm just saying it's absurd to bring down the people who are playing the game the most to the level of people who are spending more time on the forums than playing.
They don't want it because it involves someone with more time to invest in the game being better than them. That is why they don't want it. They aren't thinking about the game as a whole, they're only looking at it like "I DON'T WANT TO WAIT 3 HOURS, THAT'S DUMB!!"
lolno nothing hardcore about 24hour NMs except the fact you need to sit there and waste your day. I'm much more for small respawn windows but still just as tough fights kthx
