Calling people bots and crybabies as well. The audacity of players who play casual content not having ultimate clears when giving feedback about... casual content.

They either do not meet the ultimate standard... or they are too good to understand the true casual players plight. Literally no winning with these people. They will shift the goalpost to suit them as needed. Anything to keep healers the same for reasons I don't know.

He states nobody cares about the dungeons.. well the pages upon pages of feedback about the dungeons begs to differ xD

I want to point out that the person who made the list apparently took like 3 days to make it, implying they went to bed twice and never put this unhinged idea in the trash upon waking up.

I also don't really know what the healerstrike or really, at it's logical, hard core about.
I have been following the conversation about halers from the sideline for long time. From sidline becaus I play tank, and I am reasonably happy. The usual opinions:
"More dps buttons!" "More need to heal for real!" - are familiar to me. I have sympathy for you. I think sometimes these are expressed in kinda bi-polar manner, but that's just my dumb opinion.

So I don't know what your strike is about. But I would assume that the subject is important to many, 400 pages and going strong you know. And now problem is that some muppets are not making your (the striking healers) strike look so good?
If I was healer on strike... and I feel like the publicity was paramount to the cause... I might suggest the most eloquent and willing communicator of my fellow strikers to write press-release kind of summary. Make it big and annoying and the first thing anyone sees when they ope the thread. To help the lazy laggards like current myself to understand the thing you think is super important right.

If the only answer is "read +3 pages of the thread", thread which is stream of people's variable opinions, I kinda think you have failed. I don't wanna call anyone whiny over this... but it's not the content creators' job to be your flattering megaphone. Surely you new this is not unanimous stance you are championing? And I wanna be very clear, I don't disagree with the strike because I cannot (cant agree/disagree if i dont understand, you see).

Anyway, good luck, you can still fix this you striking healers you. But don't expect random internet soup to be your ally. That's not how any of this goes.

Again. The issue is not that the streamers disagree with the strike. The issue is that a specific streamer, on stream, pulled up the tomestone.gg profile of the person who started the thread and went on a rant insulting them and calling casual players bots.

This is pretty tone deaf. You should have at least read posts before you chimed in.
You should be able to post on the forums without Arthars pulling up your logs in front of 1,000+ viewers to trash talk you. Especially because he's an ambassador of the game and was officially endorsed on the media tour by CBU3 and given an interview with Yoshi-P.
You should also be able to post about your opinions without a weirdo compiling a spreadsheet of your "casual score" as well.

I don't really care about the healers strike and I'm not paticularly upset about the state of healers as they are now but man, it is extremely cringe to harass people for posting feedback on the feedback forums.
And since it's media tour streamers doing this, it looks like SE and Yoshi-P endorse this behavior by being associated with and standing with them.

Yeah it's also a Google product as well. Gonna be looking into this. Just as a general note to anyone concerned about harassment, Google features a Report function that does encompass harassment and abuse.

There is an upside to that. Eventually they will get a permaban from the harassment. Might be ugly getting to that point but I guarantee anyone harassing me personally in game will be reported.

Doubt it.

Most people were actually antagonistic towards the person that created it, and those that weren't were more curious about his (incredibly flawed) methods and purpose.

Give it a few days, this will be as if it never existed, and the only time if ever that it will be remembered is when some person did some incredibly unhinged thing. - It's in fact so bad that it's one of the few things I have seen the forum so cohesive on one point, even more so when the subreddit reception actually wasn't too different.

That said, the worst thing that will happen is their crusade will get taken down on Google Drive. It's very difficult to definitively put a sheet to a name for the purposes of sanctioning... Even if conventional common sense from a player PoV determines who exactly did it.

Not blaming any particular streamers for this because it is ultimately the individual's responsibility, but I'm hard pressed to imagine something like this would happen in a vacuum. Gentle reminder to streamers your words and actions have influence and this is only a video game. It's not worth your account status and by extension your profits. Xenosys was banned from Twitch recently so I'm sure he understands that.


And just a reminder in general for all of us that just bc forums are public posts does not mean you can do whatever you want on any given platform. Of course most sane users seem to understand that.

It's kind of crazy to observe on the internet in general how people allow their egos to go so out of control that it gets them into trouble on platforms, or even legal/ financial trouble. It's not just celebrities or influencers either. Some people are just wild.

it's not freely available data, it's data harvested from TOS breaking 3rd party apps being used to log shame and harass other players for giving feedback on the feedback forums.
This is the ugly side of these addons and parsing tools that people saw coming a mile away. It being used as a tool to compile data about and harass other users into not giving feedback on the game.

This works, if only the nature of the thread in question had people acting in uniformity.

The healer strike thread had a lot of bloat in that statistic from people either:
a) Trolling
b) Talking off-topic, e.g., accessibility.
c) General disagreement with the thread.
d) Meta-discussion (this exchange being an example)

In fact depending on the ratio of these points compared to those actually in support of it and/or making recommendations, one could quite as easily make a different inference, and sadly with the OPs finite wit, nothing of actual meaning importance can be derived from their crusade.

So, yes, how dare they.

There is no reason to argue with anyone who does not comprehend clear and unequivocal violations not to mention the bizarre and flawed methodology (post count lol). The only question is whether SE will see the reports and act on them.

i read this thread's OP once.
what i took from it was that some people, likely some strikers themselves, likely OP themselves, not being happy about some content creator people talking about this strike.
being edgy and mean, making it sound like pointless, kinda stupid, disregarding some strikers because no pink/gold/whatever parse etc.

i couldn't care less what they say specifically, the content creators i mean. not the tone or motive or flavour. of course i disapprove bullying, but that didn't seem like the topic of this thread's discussion. so i determined to focus on the simple fact that in OP's opinion they, the content creators, could be doing better in opinions of some strikers while talking about the strike. as in, not be a-holes about legitimate concern of a kind.

and THEN that just got me thinking, the shortest way from A to B: "hmm. if i was bothered by someone understanding my online strike wrong, what I could do to help idiots (like me, i owned that) to understand better, if they chose to engage with my arguments in good faith at all?"

lot of ifs. i merely held myself as one kind of bystander. who might agree with the strike with full understanding, if the communication about the strike was organized better.
i think that good number of those bad takes by content creators can be explained by hanlon's razor.
i also think that people who want to disregard and ignore the strike will continue to do so, whatever the strikers say. that's how humans work, that's how internet works.
i don't think any striker's parses disqualify the whole strike. the streamer is acting like bully.

They included anyone who posted in the main thread at all.

I'm also listed as one of the strikers for all that I've made it clear I'm not striking and don't support it.

It's doesn't bother me since I know it's just someone trying to stir up drama. I don't make it a secret that I stop doing serious content back when I was still playing WoW. Could I still do it now? Doubtful. EX is probably within my ability but age has taken its toll so I doubt I'm capable of Savage level content anymore.

But I still understand the point of view of the strikers even if I don't agree with all of their points. There is definitely room for improvement, though I think that room lies mostly in encounter design and not job design.

DPS healing and active mitigation don't impinge on the healer role as far as I'm concerned even with what's getting added in DT. A full DPS group is going to have a very hard time clearing content without tanks or healers. Constantly rezzing the dead doesn't go that far if most of the party is carrying Brink of Death for 50% of the fight.

Tank mitigation doesn't impinge on the healer role either, in my opinion. Mitigation that reduces damage taken by a percentage should be part of their job, including party wide mitigation. What needs to be removed from the tank is the healing. Healing is the healer role.

But still, it's mostly encounter design that needs to change. There's room to add more frequent unavoidable damage in higher level normal content. If a healer is going to be casting a GCD, there's no reason why that GCD should be limited to dealing damage instead of healing damage. If SE wants mana management to matter, which is pretty much non-existent at this point past level 50 even with a bad party, then remove the mana cost on the healing GCDs and put it on the instant casts and most of the oGCDs instead.

I don't understand the confusion. The healerstrike opening post is the bite size summary. There is no need to read the whole thread when it's all in the first post. It contains a link to an older feedback thread as well. Here, I tried to make it even shorter and underlined the relevant parts.

"the official thread for those in support of a healer strike as a collective voice to the dev team"
"to express the dissatisfaction with the continued direction the game has gone concerning healer gameplay"
"what is an arrived consensus"
"a negligence towards the role, as well as the players who main it"
"The purpose of the healer strike and this thread is to garner support for necessary changes"
"Please use this thread to voice your concerns"

- It is not just Gemina speaking for herself, she is speaking for many others who agree
- The thread is a means to get feedback to the devs
- The problems have existed before the dungeon clear and are ongoing
- Changes are necessary
- Player feedback has been ignored so far, so healers are rallying support

If this is not a sufficient explanation then I don't know what else can be done.

Edit. And people are welcome to jump in at any time without reading prior posts. If it's supporters, great! If it's critics, make your voices heard too! Just make sure your points are about healer design, your healing experiences or the method of the strike itself, and not ad hominem fallacies and harassment targeted towards individuals.

In an interview before EW release Yoshi did respond a little bit about it.
Not all of them, but I've seen people talk about these in here.

If it actually took a high skill level I might accept that, it doesn't, it's about as tone-deaf as the BLM in armor thing.

They need to decide if healers are supposed to have downtime or not, content design says "yes" but healer design says "no."

I know it's not you saying it, but damn is that Yoshida quote tone-deaf. There's photos floating around here of even the bottom 10% of the playerbase's logs and how many times they cast DPS during a fight. This is COMMON. It is an everyday, casual level of play expectation of being a healer, to just sit there and hit Glare or its SGE/AST/SCH equivalents non-stop, and for the majority, people of all skill levels do so. It's not a fun or engaging thing TO do, but we do it.

When a literal 10 percentile parse is still 60% casts of broil that is a problem

Healer parses aren’t even based on distribution of broil vs succor it’s purely ABC. No matter how well or how badly you parse on a healer 11111111111 is the only thing you can do, you’ll just be split based on how many casts you dropped

There is 0 way without 3rd party tools to know someone you never interacted with if they have cleared the 1st/2nd or 3rd fight of a tier, there are no achievements for these floors only gear, if you never wear the pieces at the time they view your character, they cannot know you have done the content.

So yes the person absolutely used illegal 3rd party tools to try and harass and name/shame people they disagree with something that is ban worthy.

Not many sane people would take hours of their time to individually catalogue 600+ people, dig through logs and create a spreadsheet just for being part of a criticism based thread on healing. Some people on there aren't even healers and are getting thrown in as collateral damage. Not to mention that a good chunk of that list is filled with alts (since a lot are intelligent enough on here to hide their identity) so the list doesn't even represent the truth.


I assume you're on board with it because you main WAR (unless this is an alt as well, I don't care enough to fact check you) and don't want your class to be affected by this but seriously....are we really defending stalkerish behavior that could open the door to people being actually harassed by others via this list?

I a proud of being a "casual" and I am also proud of being able to use this platform and others to articulate the issues I and others have experienced whilst playing the healer role. To limit "qualified" feedback and input to just the 10% of the player base is erroneous and excludes a large portion of the community. Furthermore I am flattered that someone decided to put my name on that spreadsheet. The fact that my posts here caused you enough heartburn to create that list means my job here is done.

If anything this very flawed "statistic" shows the casual the game "is catering to" aren't happy with the content either. Almost every single thread in this forum or on reddit or streamers debating balancing ends with "The game is catered to casuals". Now the filthy casuals say "Well, actually..." and we are still beeing made fun of and our feedback is being dismissed because "we don't know the content that truly matters and don't know what we're talking about". This could be a moment where very different groups of the playerbase would team up and give the devs the feedback this is not fun for casuals nor for hardcore players. Instead people are just shitting on casuals... again. Just look at the tags this thread got.

This also ignores how dungeons are an entirely different experience than savage and ultimates and some people are simply not interested in this kind of gameplay. Would I be able to survive in these duties? No clue. Am I eager to give it a try? Nope, because running into a brick wall for weeks with stressed out people to strategies someone else made up and everyone demands you stick to... this is not fun for me. Walking through an interesting environment with environmental storytelling, a variety of bosses in smaller doses and improving myself within this range without having to proc for it for weeks, this is fun for me, but nothing I get in a savage raid. I was very much looking forward to Variant/Criterion dungeons because it seemed to be a dungeon-ish experience with a bit more of a challenge to it. This would be right up my alley. Imagine my disappointment when I noticed two of three ways to play it are yet again for hardcore players only. And in the end this group of players barely played it or did it once and then moved on. I still enjoy the first mode, but if this game is "catering to casuals" when a ton of Endwalker patch content was made for the small percentage of hardcore raiders and the rest was and is being told to "stop whining and play your braindead content or run against brick walls like we do"... I don't know, the more this discussion about healing and dungeon difficulty goes on, the less I am able to see how anything about this can be true. Aside from "we need a scapegot to blame for everything we think is going wrong and the casuals rarely speak up online, so they are an easy target."
