I showed these pictures to my ever-skeptical brother, and his faith has now been restored. I hope after E3, Yoshi promised to create this 2.0 site where he will release tons of info, and this will keep the momentum going. Very excited , and I'm happy for them.

By far, the greatest comeback I have ever seen in a game.

This makes me really really excited, but I'm trying not to hype so much considering how I was back in 2010... And then I got invited to the alpha... Yeah.

Anyway, this is awesome. Real awesome. I want to try it so badly. At least to mess around with character creation. I'm so happy male Miqo'te look super sexy. I was starting to get attached to my Hyur, but after seeing this...

Month or two after the game's launch, I no longer saw ff14 on most store shelves. Nearest Best Buy sells them for $50 (little do they know it's $20 from SE's site xD )

I have legitimately run out of places to panic and be generally bothersome with my excitement about this. I've annoyed my linkshell in XIV, my linkshell in XI (who I'm pretty sure wants me dead to stop my talking), several of my friends on MSN... I AM JUST SO EXCITED, AAAH.

They are 1600x900 so more likely low spec PC shots or the equivalent of PS3 screens.

Wow, I've heard this a couple of times and still surprises me.
The CE was like $20 on my local(ish) Gamestop a year ago. And even so, the digital and retail version have always been available on Amazon.com

But yeah, can't blame the average gamer for not being informed about the game - it's part of (or I hope it is) SE's plan.

Did they shrink the chat box/window only to one window?

I"m surprised they wouldn't allow cameras to see the game-play since that would definitely give a huge scope over the improvement from the release of XIV's battle system. Man it was kind of painful watching that battle system and seeing that people had no clue what to do XD. Though maybe they plan on releasing some gameplay footage on the site which would be to nice to see some actual gameplay instead of the trailer they had planned.

The tweets say that filming wasn't allowed, so using internet logic:

CLOSED EVENT NO FILMING ALLOWED + Need to get clicks + some smart guy = blurry video in about 2 weeks.

There is a lot of FFXIV love in the Twitter-sphere, from what I can tell.

There are people loving the screen-shots, people are hungry for PS3 info, people wanting to see the real-time action that is being enjoyed by the fortunate few, people are ready to give it a try or come back, and people are amazed at the sheer fact that this is a comeback that no one imagined (besides us).

And it is only day 1...

IMHO: That's hype! That's how you push/revive a product! That's how you play the game!

Yep yep... I was also at doing my RA work on campus earlier today when I saw these... not only did I make this my new desktop but I now got a couple of my colleagues wanting to try FFXIV.

Phenomenal stuff Yoshi-P... nothing short of phenomenal. Time to update the blog.

This is the best ffxiv has to offer, the graphics are terrible and the game will crash horribly.

Please don't wait for it, leave now, and never come back. Don't even reply, just go to your account screen, and unsubscribe to the game, and be done with it.

I was disappointed they held off on a trailer but the screenshots look so amazing I'm so excited for the new Xiv I was afraid that they would down play the graphics too much to acommidate for the ps3 but I was plesently suprised the visual style is like xiii almost can't wait

At first, soon as I got legacy, I canceled my sub was very prepared to just wait until 2.0... but I am totally prepared now to stick with the game until then. I mean come on! Artifact for my Armorer? Hell to the yes.

Also, don't know what people complaining about on a less taxing resolution, I would totally sacrifice super graphics to be able to see 25-50 more people on the screen.
