The best one is when it's an irl couple or friends and one is a Tank and the other DNC and the DNC always gives the Tank the Dance Partner.
I've even seen this in Savage lol.
And they just refuse to give it to anyone else.
The worst one imho are the solo dancers—the ones that just refuse to partner for whatever reason.
While I agree they should still give it to the DPS (As a DNC myself I would switch partner mid combat too if I see we have better DPS to partner with), my personal bare minimum expectation is to see those red icons anywhere. Doesn’t matter who gets it lol.
Bismark in trial roulette on gunbreaker.
It went smoothly. Other tank didn't try to steal my snake add, we hit the dragonkillers on time, good DPS, nobody died.
Yes, that's remarkable enough to be worth a post.
Trial Roulette: Seat of Sacrifice
Rolled as a PLD with my friend who's leveling their RPR.
I saw my co-tank is a PLD, they immediately turn their tank stance on despite having about 5k lower max HP than mine. Well fine, go ahead and tank it. Our healer were double ASTs. You'd think this would mean nobody would die to TLD mechanic. Hahahahahahahahahahano.
I am now adding one more to my list of "If I get this in roulette, I will 100% die at least once"-moments: being an off-tank in Seat of Sacrifice.
Ever since late ShB, whenever I rolled in as a tank and off-tanking SoS, I always, always, ALWAYS die, at least once. To that TLD mechanic. Pug healers seem to always forget that their offtank also need a top up. I could've Clemency myself... But I reminded myself again that I'm a spiteful healer main. TLD is almost 100% purely healer's responsibility & being a healer main I've recognized how braindead easy to solve that early even with the meme double SCH compo. I am not going to pick up their slack; I'm going to let myself die to the mech and let people's eyes turns to the healers and be like "Healer? What are you doing as to letting them die??".Yes... this is me and my pettiness... >.>;
Otherwise there's nothing special... aside from the fact that I had to turn off my tank stance several times just to avoid stealing the aggro off my co-PLD. Gosh please co-PLD, use your cooldowns... That's the greatest amount of Interventions that I've used in a single trial run...
Istg I really starting to despise SoS.
You know something is fishy when RPR in your Expert run is the last on aggro list. Then by the end you realise you never saw them using Enshroud. Just. How.
Giving instructions, including where to go in PVP:
Good
Telling people Multiple times not to chase enemies into their spawns so much because they will be invincible:
Gets you insulted
Sorry for also giving orders, just like the person giving waymarks and others saying mid and who to focus, too.
Sorry for wanting to win, i know people dont take pvp serious, but it gives a nice chunk of exp for winning, why not at least give it a bit of a try...
Why is giving waymarks and all fine, but actually SAYING things is being a tryhard, lol
Not like i'm super mad, i will just never understand
Whats the point of fighting invincible people at their spawn
*Joins P3S FoF onward group*
*People get hit constantly by Cinderwing and can't even put down the Darkened Fire on the squares or do basic math*
Today in Syrcus Tower, I had someone run away with the gravity circle and die due to eating it solo. I decided to point out in Alliance chat that those are stack markers and should be shared.
Cue someone else insisting that they are not stack markers. And despite my explaining clearly how the mechanic worked, they continued to say as much, even when someone else brought up that it was a stack marker.
Hooray for spreading misinformation.
I've been at this two full days in a row it's always the same but this was just weird lol.
*Joins another P3S group, after adds*
Copied directly from chat, changed names for privacy.
(Player A): ok
(Player A): That guy
(Player A): you good?
(That guy): iam new to the game
(That guy): sorry
(Player A): dude
(Player B) wth???
(That guy): just killed second, watched some videos
(Me): srsly can people stop joining wrong groups lol
(That guy): and wanted to do the third now
(That guy): as said, iam new
(Me): this was after adds and onwards
(That guy): maybe i missread something
(Player A): then join a practice from start
Asphodelos: The Third Circle (Savage) has ended.
You have entered a sanctuary.
(Tone police): wow dont be so harsh on him
(Player A): read the description and you wont be in a wrong group
'' That guy '' has left the party.
(Me): no comment, I am just tired of it
(Player A): we werent even harsh lol
(Me): every single group new or not, at some point my patience just runs out
(Player A): i dont think he knew about pf descriptions or smth, probably no bad intentions, just new xd
(Tone police): you could have explained it to him in a nicer tone
(Player A): how you gonna judge someones tone through a text
(Me): if we explained it to him we'd have to practice it and it's not for practicing those early mech
(Tone police): i dont like your attitute
Tone police has left the party.
(Player A): watch your tone young man
Wow, I can't believe how toxic we were.
Spent over a hour forming the group and it collapsed in two pulls I think we were being freaking saints lol.
How are you new to the game in the second to last fight of the super hard mode endgame Raid?
Yeah if you've cleared two fights at least you should know how pf works lol.
It literally said in the description that we were going to practice after adds, even if you're new it should just be common sense.
I dunno but it honestly came across like an excuse to me, it's not like this was the first time either I've spent two full days basically trying to get past adds and it has been the same almost every time.
People can't do the numbers or put the fires down on the squares....
And there's constantly people dying repeatedly to the Cinderwings and Plumes.
Altho on a more positive note, I finally ended up in a good party in the last one just now and saw enrage at least.
But it has really felt like I've had to wade through an endless ocean of frustration and pain to just get an even somewhat competent group it reminds me a lot of the limit cut in P2S altho that time it basically took an entire week to get past it and get a kill.
I don't think there was a problem with our tone, I think Mr Tone Police was being pretty ridiculous and overly sensitive.
But it definitely does make you extremely frustrated with people when you keep running into the same thing over and over again.
My tolerance for toxicity is very low but I feel like we would've been justified in going way harder, just wasting over an hour of peoples time like that is what's actually toxic and you deserve people being mad at you at that point.
Seeing enrage and practicing the final phases a lot of times after all that I'd call a sucess at least.
To the RDM that had died on the last boss of Breach just now and I had ressurected right into a building launch: I am so sorry. D:
P4 normal in raid roulette. Four people get blown into the spikes. Healer hits LB3. Those four people get raised, still standing on the spikes, and immediately die again. Then the rest of us die laughing.
Oh man. Are YOU in luck. Because you have reminded me of what happened to me sometime last month with this very same problem with DNCs...
Queued into Trial roulette. On I believe was my WAR at the time to get it to 90
Got Immaculate. With THREE DNCs. One RPR. My friend came as OT GNB (He doesn't like Mting and I don't like aggro wars so it works out). And I can't tell you what the healers were cause I don't remember.
DNC#1 partners the RPR... then got to watch in annoyance as DNC#2 and DNC#3 partners me and my friend on tanks..
Fight starts and I gently point out that DNC Standard stacks on DNC. So they should partner eachother over tanks... “When did that change?” asks DNC#2. I simply say. 'Always, Ever, Since release' (I didn't really play DNC when it first came out, so if there actually was a change the few months before I played it. Thats on me)
DNC#2 “It doesn't. They overwrite eachother I just checked” Glance at the DNC and see them with two Standards and Two Closed Partition up. Confused I point out they have two so thats not overwriting anything. Then I notice both mine AND my co-tank's are gone so DNC#3 listened and partnered #2. But #2 threw it on the RPR that already had DNC#1's
So here I am. On PS5. Trying to still be doing at least something passable as an MT and DMG while trying to once again explain it stacks on a “DNC” and “Devilment does not stack though” (Important)
They continue to say I'm wrong, and how they keep testing it and it doesn't work even finally putting Partition on DNC#3. Only to claim again it overwrote their stacks and throws it back on me. I simply say “You do you” during this and focus on the fight instead of chat as this happens.
Fight is over. I got my friend laughing in my ear as I'm groaning in annoyance I make small mention of Balance discord and checking it out before leaving.
But WAIT. Theres MORE...
They are ON MY SERVER!. And Proceed to tend me a tell.
Informing me that a DNC doesn't “crystal ball that should not be named much higher than a tank. And it doesn't make up for the LOSS OF DEVILMENT” …What I will post below is our conversation word for word (I screenshotted to show my friend why I was suddenly muttering profanities)
Me: Loss of devilment? WHERE?
Me: Don't overwrite eachother and you get TWO?
DNC#2: Even if finish stacks devilment does not
Me: DON'T use them at the same time?
DNC#2 Yes because I should trust pugs to cordinate something like that
Me: Man you right “I'll use mine first” is hard.
DNC#: Plus that would mean either delaying my technical step or losing out on devil with my technical step.
Me: Technical doesn't stack no matter who you partner with.
Me: That has nothing to do with what I said.
DNC#: It does actually
Me: My lord man.
Me: You do you.
DNC#2: Technical step has the same cooldown as devilment If I delay devilment that means it won't be in the same window as technical step.
DNC#2: Overall the biggest DPS loss that fight was out argument..
(Imma about done at this point)
Me: I said Standard stacks,
Me: It does.
Me: You said it doesn't.
Me: You go on ahead and reread that whole argument.
Me: I even pointed out devil didn't stack.
Me: But once again man. You do you.
They finally stopped replying.. I was annoyed. Friend was wheezing in laughter at me..
Normal day for me in good ol' DF..
I'm not too fond of death walls because pulling someone with me when it's wipe time and I hop off is so much more rewarding than just flopping down in a death wall.
But heal lb3 ressing people in a death zone and watching them die again immediately never gets old.
They see you use heal lb3 and know they'll just get another free weakness.
My faith in humanity slips further and further every day. The fact that one DNC sent you a tell to harass you about it after is just... bruh. Look at the Balance. You will literally find all the DNC guides you could want that tell you, very clearly, that your SS buff won't overwrite on another DNC. Partnering a DPS is always better than partnering a tank or, god forbid, a healer - unless that DPS is just truly horrible and the tank/healer is doing way more damage contribution.
Genuinely don't know why people pick up classes and then not even bother to research it even a little bit, or read their tooltips half the time.
My latest P2 (the hippokampos one) normal mode confirms this.
We had a player who kept dying in that run, and not just to the red and yellow arrows mechanic (which I qualify as the only part that might be a challenge in that fight). My friend and I were the 2 healers, and we got so frustrated rezzing the same person over and over only for them to die soon after. At some point, we decided to spend our mana on keeping people up rather than rezzing someone who'd keep dying. My WHM in particular was really starting to struggle with mana. This person then said they were new and didn't know how the fight worked. I told them that they should say when they're new so that everyone would be prepared for it. My friend tossed them a rezz and we both felt way less frustrated after learning they were new and we thought that would be the end of that.
Cue in the dramatic entrance of the main character of this story: The White Knight!
This person took it upon themselves to defend this poor helpless first timer and save them from the big bad healers who had no right whatsoever to be frustrated -.- Funnily enough, this white knight was the person who had the second highest number of deaths after the first timer. Maybe they felt called out in a way ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. The white knight said stuff like (exact copy of what they wrote): "awk get over yourself," "get a grip," "As if you're perfekt in everything you start..... holy cow"
Like, dude, if you wanna go there, I actually didn't make too many mistakes in my first time in that fight. I paid a lot of attention and tried to pull my weight as much as possible (not to mention I told people I was new at the very start), but that's not even the issue. Neither my friend nor I said anything about the person being a first timer being our issue with them. If anything, learning that they were a first timer immediately defused our (legitimate) frustration. The only thing I said was to let people know about being new--nothing more and nothing less.
P.S. I should mention that I sent that first timer a tell after the instance to clarify that them being new to the fight was never the issue and that it's better to tell people, especially healers, when you're new so that they'd be prepared for it. They were cool about it and we parted ways on good terms.
Another day in P3S.
10+ pulls in ( adds practice group again... ).
*DRG gets hit every time by plumes and/ or cinderwing at start, also often screws up tethers and is on the wrong side on glory plumes when we got there + takes my spot randomly on pairs/ spread on dive bomb*
Me: DRG, you've gotten hit by plume and/ or wings at start every pull now. Do you know how they work?
DRG after long silence: I am practice uptime
Me: Tbh I'd rather practice mechanics.
DRG: Thats not why we die lol
Me: No but you shouldn't be getting hit by the first mechanic, plus you've been hit and died to others a lot too.
DRG: stfu i dont care
DRG: *Doesn't have tether and runs into tank who already has tether and dies*
I actually recognized his name since before and I tend to remember names for negative reasons in pf more than positive so it's rarely a good sign lol.
I was in a 6/8 static group before that one at least and they were nice, didn't really get very far but at least we could get past adds somewhat consistently which is more than usual.
Edit: ANOTHER group...
Both wants to OT, one called it long before tho and the other guy goes on about how he has never MT before.
We die first pull to tanks stacking together with the tethers...
Second time the MT just stands there in the middle of the two yellow squares tanking the boss straight north when the darkened fire goes off instead of stacking with me, luckily it lands on me instead but he didn't move an inch.
Then he gets 3 + 4 and he runs into the middle and wipes the group.
His excuse was '' I've never MT before I need to learn my position ''.
...............................................................................................
WHY DO YOU JOIN A P3S FOUNTAIN GROUP WHEN YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW LITERALLY THE FIRST MECHANIC WTF DOES BEING MT HAVE TO DO WITH ANY OF THAT??????????????????????
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIN.
Breach is funny like that.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoQICx0iMG0
How DARE we expect them to read their tooltips about the class they deemed worthy to use in our presence. Look through and read a discord to learn instead?!?! You go too far Sir/Ma'am/Person! /s
This forum discussion would sadly not be the creature it is (Needing a new fresh post)
if there wasn't the extremely disappointing amount of people who play like they do.....
Welp, found another one. And this one was French, too! Queued up for Aery while leveling my MNK. A friend of mine allowed me to hitch a ride on their healer queues. So we get in. WAR tank, and the other DPS is a BLM so naturally we assume this'll be a fast, smooth run. Tank's moving kinda slow, but it's alright up until it wasn't. We hit the second boss, and a DPS (yeah, I admit it, it was me. My buffs were about to fall off >_>) pulls as soon as the tank is in tomahawk range. The tank promptly provokes, turns off tank stance, and shirks onto the healer immediately afterward. Fortuitously it's not enough to turn them into the tank, so I wind up tanking the entire thing with my face. The hope was that our tank would resume doing their job after a momentary tantrum. ...Little did we realize.
We continue through the dungeon, and I am tanking the trash with my face as we go along. Finally, we get to the last set of trash. At this point I pause for a moment because A.) I'm tired of subjecting my friend to healing a monk tank and B.) I'm morbidly curious as to why this tank is being such a baby. I assumed (incorrectly) he would resume tanking if I just sat for a bit. He instead pipes up with "tank we'd like to finish tonight". Healer asks why they're so salty, and the tank replies "not salty just strict." From here you get exactly the kind of interparty bickering you'd expect when something like this happens. Dude says "either way I win bb" right before a vote kick goes through. Oh, right; the black mage actually defended his right to act like this. Almost forgot that part.
I guess the dude is technically correct about winning either way since he can just insta-queue right back into a dungeon, but that attitude definitely isn't going to get him far in the game. These days trying to sabotage your party like that constitutes at least three separate TOS violations, and all of them are enforced fairly regularly.
Given the frequency with which I encounter scenarios worthy of this thread, I'm honestly beginning to wonder if I'm cursed.
I am at a complete loss for words, basically spent the week in P3S every day all day ( got Covid ).
Today when I woke up I started it I only ate a sandwich until midnight and now it's 2:30AM and I still didn't manage to get a clear....................
And this is me joining mostly clear parties.
And it's not me I am not the one screwing up ( not saying I literally never did, but I am very confident on the whole fight at this point, I do the elmo bait too so it's one less problem. I am alive when enrage happens and don't really die or take dmg down debuffs. ).
Seen enrage multiple times and every time people die to the stupidest of crap.
Was in multiple static parties that claimed to be at tornados and seen enrage too, nope ofc they weren't they were still stuck at bellow adds.
I actually do enjoy the fight it's fun but I also want my book and hopefully chest for the week too.
And it's not so fun when 99.9% of people lie to your face about where they are in the fight.
Edit: Last static party I filled in for disbanded and joined another kill party that I also joined, yeah, you lot got '' busted '' ( they made a joke about it ).
A SAM that got frustrated with them and left created the party, guys couldn't get past adds and tried to leave me behind to sneak in and ruin another group ( they got kicked ).
What rly gets me is how they acted like it was all a joke, yeah ha ha it's funny to you guys in your little friend circle.
It's not funny to everyone else in the group.
Edit again: Okay it's now 3 AM and we still need a tank who even knows if the people in the group are telling the truth and can clear, but I am too tired and I officially give up...
PF leeches won, I surrender.
Tomorrow after reset I'll rush through P1-2S and get to P3S asap hopefully that will get me grouped up with some more competent people...
I've never felt this defeated in a game before it's actually just sad at this point.
It sure is great when a farm party set to Duty Complete is actually a learning party where everyone needs to be reminded of mechanics every few minutes.
Especially in a fight like Seat of Sacrifice (Extreme), where you know exactly what kind of party you're getting when half of the party (including both tanks) drop dead right at the start because no one healed the Doom debuff.
I've honestly never experienced it being so consistently bad as in P3S.
I mean I tried everything including 0 chest parties with people joining in to help.
And then they proceed to screw up darkened fire and plumes............................................
It honestly feels like the Truman Show where the whole game is like some conspiracy against me or something.
It's hard to explain but it has been so bad that it feels unnatural.
that's the thing with pf it doesn't matter what you say in the description or what requirements you set for it nothing (no not even havng duty completed) will stop you from getting people with no understanding of the fight at all . and if it's pf I've made it's guaranteed to end up being one of the worst parties for the fight you've ever seen. honestly the number of healers I've run into that can't pull of the simple task of not dying for 10 seconds is depressing.
What a <redacted> act by the tank to shirk onto the healer when the healer didn't have anything to do with it. It's not like one tiny keypress by him will get the boss back. Agro is zero effort, I just don't get this tantrum of "I'm the boss and you must do what I allow neener neener"
How does one say it... Quel petit garçon immature il était!Quote:
Healer asks why they're so salty, and the tank replies "not salty just strict."
Be me, on an alt leveling WAR because "hee hee Fell Cleave go brrrrr".
Queued up for normal raid, get an in-prog 19m A7.
They're at the last boss, thinking this'll be quick.
PLD wants to tank, 'k, I'll pop stance so I'm 2nd in aggro then drop it.
DPS is good enough for me to keep having to flip it on and off to maintain #2 in aggro.
Somehow during the fight PLD drops stance, no biggies, I'm a big gal tank with Big Gal pants.
PLD turns stance back on realizing I refuse to die, starts taking 5 stacks of phys vul down.
He doesn't put up any mitigation to save himself, not even HG (to be honest, I don't remember if it goes through invuln).
PLD tank dies, has a surprised pikachu face.
I pick up the boss and we carry on, PLD gets a raise near 2% of the boss' health remaining.
We clear, people leave, I get one comm for my short stay.
I'm not sure why the previous tank left an easy raid, but I have to wonder.
I thought AR roulette are the only places I'd see people cheesing ilv. But I've found my first partymate that actually does this in NR roulette to get A1n:

I am actually getting triggered by the attitudes about it too at this point.
I was just in a group again trying to get an early clear for like 4 hours with some people from yesterday I know are capable of clearing P3S.
And we had the same issues AGAIN.
Last group that broke my patience ( also I want to eat today, not going like 14 hours without food again... ), both tanks clearly have no idea what they're doing and our description was VERY clear that it was NOT an add or tornado practice group it was a kill group.
After like 5 failed pulls twice on the darkened fire and three times on the adds with the same tank dying to being clipped I was like sry but I don't have the patience for this please stop joining kill parties if you don't know the fight.
And the tank was all like '' cool bye ''.
BRO.
I ACTUALLY HATE YOU.
The fact people basically got carried through a lot of content and then join a farm party is one reason I haven't been going back to trying to farm the extremes lately. In early January I got 13 consistent clears of EX2, and ever since any time I try to farm it the parties can't even get past the crystal phase reliably. And if they do, it's a very quick wipe after the 4 lightwaves because a healer usually fails to move to their designated spot, or tries stacking with the other group. It's so scripted that you don't even have to think about it since after the first set of those it's ALWAYS water bubbles. I've only had a couple of clears after the early January ones. And I've tried weekly to do it. This is part of the reason I'm so far behind on my extreme clears(don't even have a single weapon EX clear, or Memoria, and it took until just a couple weeks ago for me to finally get the last of the StB ones)
Me everytime I realize I need food buffs up and pop them midrun:
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachmen...rnnzb_700b.jpg
I almost get the impression that what a lot of groups actually mean with '' tornado practice '' for example is '' when we reach tornados we're giving up and calling it a day ''.
I had this twice today with two statics one where it was only me filling in and another me and another dps.
And in both we only did like 4-5 pulls and then they decided to end it for the day....
The last one was the most frustrating because they were actually pretty solid the problem was that one of the tanks had no idea how to do the running phase before the dark tornado knockback.
It was easily solved and I think we could've killed it the next pull, but then they were just all like '' okay done for today bye ''.
Two of the pulls were also resets since they had changed something with the tanking and the same guy got confused about it.
So in realiy it was more like three pulls instead of five and then they gave up...
When I read '' tornado practice '' what I am interpreting that as is '' we can comfortably reach tornados and we want to practice it and get past it ''.
But it seems more like '' halp we just startin out we wanna see swirly tornadu b4 bed tiem ''.
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FINALLY I got the P3S party finder kill!!!!!!! 3AM in the night lol.
In the kill all the other three dps died and we had to lb3 ress, we had some dying every pull but it only took 4 I think and on the first one we had enrage at like 0.2%.
There was a bunch of dmg down and other deaths too I think and we just barely got the kill anyway the enrage was like a second from going off I thought we were going to kill but the enrage would register anyway I was so scared.
I am not even mad about my cursed rolls striking again, an entire week of pain for 20-30 rolls lol.
I ain't mad at all I just feel like the weight of the world has come off my shoulders.
Can't believe I second guessed myself because of how sleepy I was and had been at it all day, I was VERY close to not joining the group ( last spot as DNC ) I was sitting there hoping someone else would so I could have an excuse not to and go to sleep.
But god damn it if I didn't do the mechs flawlessly every time my focus was 100%.
And the Healers and RDM were great at spreading I felt like they were miles away every time it was like everyone knew exactly where to go.
My pain.
HAS COME TO AN END!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tomorrow I can relax and soon Elden Ring is out and I can play that without worrying about clears even tho it's just a clear in a video game I haven't felt this good in a long time holy hell I worked my ass off for it.
I had a very interesting case of a Reaper in a Zodiark Farm who was greeding every possible greed, inclusing the most risky ones, and putting a LOT of strain in the healers, but even so, he was last in the aggro list.
Also: it seems like EVERY TIME I forget to put a demand for "duty complete" in my farm parties, I ALWAYS.
EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
End up with someone who keeps dying at half the mechanics of the fight, only to pop an achievement at the end signifying it was their first clear. CLASSIC.
At Zodiark I feel the greed as melee too. Normally I use my anti-knock to just stand in front during Zodiarks YEEEETTT. Sometimes others got baited and are flying off the edge :D
But TY to my healers I got there. You didn't let me die with 2 vuln stacks :D
