Good to hear. Now I can actually leave the Firmament and now worry about missing the Fate.
Thank you for the reply and information Yoshi-P \o/
I am not too big of a fan of this cause it makes it harder and all end game. Not all of us are lv 80 crafters and gatherers. Would have rather had it be instances.
I enjoyed teaming up across worlds in the data cluster making friends and working as a group to progress the area. Also helping not only ourselves but others get the emote and cool outfits. This just makes us seem more separated than as a team in a united cluster.
Thank you for adding the restriction to prevent off-server people from joining the Firmament and blocking people who are actually on the server natively from participating in the FATE.
I did not enjoy having to zone in 2 hours early just to try to experience it, because of all the people from off server camping it to get the 'easy rewards' and laughing at all the people who were upset they couldn't get in.
Was this also a problem over on the Japanese servers? Because this is a rather quick, but very much WELCOME, reaction from the dev team all things considered. Or was this just them not planning for how the worst people on the NA servers would react when given that kind of leeway? Either way I'm glad it's fixed, though I am kinda bummed for the smaller servers that might now have a bit more of an uphill fight towards unlocking Ishgardian housing. Hopefully they can implement side turn ins that Wanderer's can provide without having access to the Firmament, kinda like a basket or something at the feet of the NPC that takes you into the area.
THANK GOD, nothing like being locked out twice with inventory full of items to turn in and than be sassed by off world players just there to be jerks.
I'm actually incredibly disappointed with this decision.
I'm not siding with the people who clog up the instances and stay afk inside to secure a place, but this decision to lock out World Visit players will justify the incredibly rude and vile opinions and attitudes players have been spreading in shout chat. It is still beyond my comprehension why SE doesn't put instances in. They have shown in the past they have the capability of doing so. But rather than that which would provide access to everyone everywhere, they have opted for restrictions that will cause the less populated servers to progress even slower due to the lower number of crafters, and the more populated servers to still have congestion because of the larger crafter playerbase.
Yes, it was a problem on Japanese servers. On the Mana data center most of the servers have stockpiling enough for concerted works at a similar pace, and it made a sort of chain to do the event. While people weren't rude to people who couldn't get in and world hoppers (basically everyone) were getting into every other or every third concerted works, being locked out of the firmament was always annoying, especially on your own server. I also haven't contributed as much to stockpiling as I'd like on my own server because of the desire to do the concerted works on other servers, and in a large event like this I think everyone should be about to have their sense if accomplishment and contribution. As I've talked with other players (English and Japanese speaking) we've all agreed that it needed to be fixed. This seems like a great solution, and if for some reason servers with less crafters and gatherers need help, that can be better addressed when the content and rewards aren't new.
Would it not be possible to only disable access from wanderers on high population servers only, so that wanderers from lower population servers do not needlessly congest restoration areas that are progressing very quickly but still allow efforts to be shared on lower population servers to even out the disparity?
I for one am glad that wanderers from everywhere aren't clogging up tonberry where their numbers are simply not required for content progress, but I hope that shutting off the area for all worlds does not impact on their ability to progress and enjoy the content as intended.
Thank you.
I'm not worried about smaller worlds (like my own!). This just released so there is plenty of hype. Sure we'll go a bit slower, but it won't be a crawl because this is fresh.
And just like they were able to turn this off seamlessly, they could turn it back on in the future if some worlds got to a point where it was actually needed.
awww, fun's over I guess...
Sucks for the smaller servers who will now start to fall behind quickly, and I fully expect that the higher population servers will get congested anyway for the fate, even if not an hour in advance.
adding instances definitely would've been the better solution, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if some spaghetti code would cause each instance to have it's own progress bar
How would one go about getting an idea to the dev team for an up coming update/expansion that said person would love to see implemented?
Who wants to bet people are going to start asking for the restrictions to be lifted because they actually want to get the content cleared and are mad because they no longer clear it faster?
It was more effective when you could jump to at least 2-3 worlds and do fates. This should have been a thing for the first week and then lifted, now it will be messed up. Some worlds are already behind with the supplies and now they are on their own.
Also, since they saw the time to do this now who knows when they will lift it if they even care. They listened to the crowd but I dont think they will give the time to take it off. So after a week or two there are no fates or board progress anywhere, good job.
The post literally says they'll keep monitoring to make sure it runs smooth. So yes, if it ever gets to a point where people need the help, they'll undo it.
Also they stated that they didn't see issues with the commencement of the fate. What they mean (which admittedly the english post as always likes to not state things directly but the french version was far more direct) is that visitors were not meaningfully contributing to actually get the fate started. They were just showing up for the fate, which does not need help. So no, this won't slow down worlds any more than they are based on current participation. When it does slow down significantly, they'll undo it.
Or maybe start grinding the mats and crafting the collactables like everyone else. Just because you did both doesnt mean others had the same mindset. Plus you could gain way to fast tokens with multiple FATEs almost every hour. That does influence not only the gain of rewards but also destroys prices for crafter/gatherer materia etc.
So instead of asking for easy ways, maybe start to play the game properly.
You crybabies better be happy now

No more illegal alien who will steal our scrips, Home World First!!!
Believe me!!!
imagine the salt if ishgard housing are true, when high pop world finish first and smaller world lag behind--let's say 1 month at best?
so much ppl willing give for "muh own pace", alright i guess.
tho i prefer getting it down fast than 1000 scripts per stage, 3rd stage are already take much longer to fill.
The vast majority of wanderers from higher pop servers weren't contributing to the small pop servers in the first place. Most of them were not crafting at all. They were AFK, dancing, putting rude comments in Shout, etc. They'd be standing anywhere but near Potkin - which is where contributions are made. The only thing they were there for was their free 500 scrip (and maybe some XP) from the FATE before they moved to the next world to wait for another 500 free scrip.
It's not to say none of the wanderers were contributing. A few did, but their contributions were probably only 2-3% of the total contributions at best.
The small population servers will be fine. Things don't have to be completed at the same rate as on the big servers. This is also something that SE can choose to change in the future if they feel the small pop worlds are falling too far behind. For now, everyone will have a better chance to enjoy the content on their own world and see the progress their own world is capable of making without assistance.
Why would there be salt?
We've got a lot of smalls still available right now. I've no doubt they'll fill when the private purchase moratorium is lifted but there probably will only be a handful of players who want a house badly that will still be lacking one.
If players on the small pop worlds are that desperate for more housing, they have that much more incentive to contribute to the effort required to get it. If they don't get it, most of them can look at their lack of contribution for once and say "I didn't get what I want when I wanted it because I didn't help to make it happen."
Getting it done faster would imply wanderers were helping with the contribution, not just the fate - which most weren't. People who show up to AFK for a fate don't help any world go faster. Actually, by locking out people who did want to contribute, and making people who were contributing but ran out of mats afraid of leaving to go get more mats if it was in the last 1 hour before the fate pop even though extra contributions do roll over to the next stage, they were making them go slower.
Not a crybaby as I’ve not been here posting about it much but yes I am overjoyed. I might actually get in and not have to camp in the firmamnent an hr before the fate to ensure I get in. The supplies might actually spawn on people’s screens now so thy too can take part. Last night I seen people come from a server that just had their fate to mine, then leave mine to go to Cerberus as it was due in over an hr. was turning into a fate train with people shouting they’re too lazy to even go to the board to check timer, can someone tell them how long left...
so clearly they’re not helping.
Couldn't you just delayed this for 2 weeks or maybe delayed the ultimate for 2 weeks after this?
The stress on the servers is a bit crazy now. And we've had several lag spikes that wiped us in Ultimate and makes it really annoying when we were trying to learn a specific mechanic there.
I really doubt that's how it's going to work though... We have a playable area that can only be expanded via updates, a Housing Ward version of the Firmament is likely going to be delivered in an update as well... The progress on the reconstruction seems to me like its designed to be completed well in advance of the update that expands the system, just look at the playable area we currently have and ask yourself how much more can be build in it with this system? There isn't even two weeks worth of content here IMO, even the slowest servers are going to hit the end point long before the next patch adds more.
And that's to say nothing of the fact that Wanderer's really aren't contributing a whole lot anyway... They show up for the FATE and AFK, very few of them are actually contributing to the stockpiling effort. Abusing the World Visit feature for the FATE also works both ways; Players on small servers are going to other servers to participate in their FATE, go figure while they're doing that they absolutely are not contributing to their own servers stockpile. Simply put, World Visit was doing more harm than good with this.
Thank you so much.
As for the low crafter count on new worlds, with the silly amounts of exp it gives, those will shoot up, no?
Considering how many people seem wholly unwilling to get scrips through any means other then the FATEs, I'm leaning towards "no".
Crafting/gathering have always just been a "do or don't" thing in MMOs from what I've experienced, where a lot of people will simply not bother no matter how easy they make it.
I've also noticed that most of the players who use DoH/L bots are almost never not using them which suggests they're almost disinterested as those who don't bother at all.
I'm sorry to hear your wanderers didn't contribute but atleast in JPdc they do just that and FATE chain up beautifully.
and I also help contribute to Aegis's when they're slower than the rest of us. but well, it doesn't matter now.
they can still help by gathering mats and selling them for cheap on the MB
I just read the post about the limitation of cross world ishgard restoration and I personally can't see how this is right for all the people in small pop worlds. I transferred to Spriggan on day 1, we got some incentives, I was fine with waiting for FC housing although that implied waiting way more to get high level subs for rewards, but this seems too much. I personally was able to do all Concerted Works on every world, never got a congested instance by going there about 20-30 minutes before and crafting in the meantime, while people of that world wouldn't even care and just wait AFK to do the fate. I also contributed to mine by farming about 30k scrips until now. We'll eventually do it too, of course, but since the number of crafters/gatherers is known (and on high pop is about 4 times the number of low pop) I don't see it right that a player on a low pop server has to craft 4 times more than one on a high pop one to get the same reward. The progress bar needs to be scaled down with the number of crafters/gatherers or this thing is just going to discourage all of us. After crafting/gathering 2 days non stop, I don't know if I want to keep going considering on my world I will have to keep doing it for way more time (just to give an idea, on Cerberus they've already been through the 3rd stockpile bar for about 10 hours I think, we still have to finish our 2nd one).
Thanks Yoshi-P and team.
I'll be glad not see Wandering players gloating, talking trash and being useless. Much appreciated!
I like the idea but i can feel the worries of people is smaller zone, itll be better if they could allow wanderer to go in after 10 min or so had pass to the fate (i never manage to do it so i dunno if its last more than 10 min or not, just a suggestion)
But im happy that they acknowlegde and fix this mess for now
I’m sure if the smaller population servers start to lag behind after this initial rush, the developers will reinstate the ability to World Visit and participate in other server’s Firmaments. Right now, though, people are locking others out of their Home World Firmaments when it comes to the Concerted Efforts; so I think some mitigation was required. I haven’t had the ability to participate in one of my server’s Concerted Efforts yet between TEA and IRL, but I know I’d be fairly annoyed if I was locked out of it. It may not be anything super exciting, but I’d still like the chance to participate. Can’t do that if the area is congested with Wanderers though...
Worlds with fewer crafters will just progress slower than other worlds, and that's not an issue at all. We'll take our peace and that's it. Whoever wants be in the "world first" on burning content so much, can still transfer to the appropriate world and have fun there.
Good thing the world visitors have been restricted from join such "world progress" new type of content. Go make progress YOUR world!
I don’t think the plan was to have all servers finish at the same time anyway. Just like doma some some took longer than others and it’s not an issue. Scale is bigger but still no need to ensure they all finish exactly the same day. Besides at the rate it’s progressing (2 days and all we’ve done is erect 2 canvas roofs over stalls) it’s going to be a while for all servers especially with it being forced to roughly 1 a day (x hours to craft stockpile, 2 hrs to fate, 8hr downtime for a coffee break for the hard workers of ishgard...repeat)it’ll happen when it happens. Yoshi doesn’t seem to think getting the stockpile will be an issue even for lower pop so I guess Wanderer’s werent building that up and it’s home world people doing that already. So just keep doing what you’re doing. Ishgard Needs You!
