So, It does seem like this was poorly planned out. Ive read a bunch of post and for the most part I get what happened. Even so, right now, it seems like SE was only intending to give people the chance to inhabit Ragnarok....

Also if ALL worlds but ONE are full maybe SE should take note and get some MORE servers... Cuz whats gonna happen when 2.0 goes live and we have active, inactive and NEW players all trying to inhabit servers that are already stressed to max?

2.0 is going to be running on a completely new server architecture. This merge is just to get us all to 2.0.

No problem, everyone can just visit us on Ragnarok :D

My wife was able to get on the Ridill server but my character is still stuck on besaid. I hope we both get on the same server. I know I sure dont want to be on besaid anymore. Ridill YES PLEASE!!!

time to cancel my account unless SE actually gets their head out of their arses and fixes something correctly for once

They should have just merged the servers and not given us a choice. We could still have bitched about it, but it would have been over and done with.

They say we had an option to move, but did we? I wake up 4 hours after transfers start, and there are NO choices except Ragnarok and that is Labeled as European Server, so I do not want to move there.

Why would SE say they are giving us a choice when really we have no choice. Why did they not build a queuing type system where people could put in the server they wanted to transfer to, and if people wanted to swap servers it would work down the queues?

I feel like anyone who didn't lose sleep over the transfer and even some who did, never had a chance. We were never warned this would happen. How are we supposed to know a server cap is 1000 active players, since that is what the merger limits feel like.

is ok like is right now. Is a merge between 2 servers with the posibility to change to another. So you guys are complaining about they ADD an option. Is better to dont have this option? If you cant change, just accept your merge and stop complain. they give you a plus and u have no rigths (paying or not) to complaint, next time SE will merge servers and nothing more thank to people like you.

At end, if 20 people cant go to the same server coz is full, just go to another one. You can move anytime.

Of course you have rights to complain about a service you are paying for.

I might be unpopular for saying this, but why do whole linkshells need to move to an entirely new server? What has your linkshell done on your server to cause you to want to move?

this is the result of not purging the 1 massive player database of inactive players....something SE was no doubt trying to Cover there ass on, by having us move individually they could of built a new database for the inactives.

It does not need to be anything negative. One reason would be this: We decided on a server before launch, and have since grown fond of the idea of moving to Balmung due to the (RP-)community there. It's not like we NEED to DEFINITELY switch, but if the opportunity arises, why not?

The way the application process is handled, though, it looks like we'll be staying on Sarg.

Evey full LS that wanted to move should head to ragnarok, it seems the people that SE wanted to go are not going so may as well look at it as just another server.

First of all I would invite you to read Yoshida's letters where he encourages you to do it. "We’ll be taking all your feedback, positive and negative, into account as we move forward."

Then I would suggest you to write more clearly

Just got home from work... nice seeing how pointless choosing is. I was hoping that my characters would be able to reunite on one server finally. I guess I wont be playing my main character with my friends unless I relevel everything again... sigh.

Basically, this is a merge and not a migration service...the goal is to create servers with an average population around the same size for every one of them, not to create disproportionated servers. SE warned that server may be full quickly after the launch of the migration service, it was right, it was fast.

If I understood AuctionGirl correctly, she's not asking for a "migration service." She asked why the didn't have queues.

So...

• If you were the 50th person to apply but only 49 spots were open, you would know that you were next in line; not that you had to camp the page in hopes that they'd open.
• If 250 people want to move A->B and 250 people want to move B->A, they could all move. The way I understand it's working now, if A and B are both full, then none of those 250 people could move due to full servers, despite that it would have literally no effect on populations (i.e. they'd be trading people).

And to the other people that thinks people can wake up at odd hours of the night to move their characters in a game, I'm glad you don't have a life. <_<; Some people actually have to wake up for classes/jobs. I shouldn't have to jeopardize my work/school just to enjoy my game...

On the other hand, I'm not even transferring. So good luck everyone. xD

Blame all the people who thought this would be a good time or thought there was any reason to move as a group anywhere besides Rangarok.

Everyone bitched and moaned about their servers being wiped being given the opportunity to go wherever the hell they wanted. They nix'd that and made it simple 2~3 server consolidation. They only left the option for people to APPLY for a transfer to either join a server where their friends already were (why they didn't create their character there, who knows) or to head to the European server. For some reason people took it as "pick the server you think has the coolest name!"

I checked it at like 3:30am and there where only 3 servers that had limited space and the EU server crazy.... i got switched XD

No one said it was European-only. However, you can't hide from the fact that it's only there as a place for the minority EU timezone players to collectively understand is there for them. In fact, if they don't get enough applications for Ragnarok, it's going to get scrapped.

Sorry bro, but it was to be expected that there would be a very limited amount of free spaces because existing populations in each server is being taken into account to make the end populations more similar. I feel for you, but I can't really say much else ;/

Most of the inactive accounts (I'm almost certain that almost all of them) never paid a dime in sub fees. Therefore, it boggles the mind that non-paying folks get more priority than paying ones. Mind you, I pay every month and never actually play the game. Not that I really care what server I go to, because I probably will continue to pay for a game that I don't play :p

once again yoshi stated the server populations were based on active players. the inactives don't count towards if your server is full or not. if they don't count towards if a server is full or not how are they given priority to anything?
