People are upset they implemented them because now everyone is gonna whine that there shouldn't be region exclusives. Those that don't want them don't want them and the ones who do are going to be annoying as hell with the whining. Then they will be put on the mogshop for inflated prices and then there will be more whining about the price even though they demanded it come to the west.

They're gonna whine whether there are items in the store or not though, these wings aren't anything new. Every other post is whining, that's what a forum is for. :P

I'm glad it's part of the chest piece. For a moment, I thought there was now a cosmetic slot. I was afraid ffxiv was going to turn crazy tacky with flame wings, bat wings, etc if it makes it over here. I can't remember which mmo, but I remember seeing screenshot a f2p mmo with everyone having crazy wings loitering in town.

Im paying a subscription to avoid this kind of ugly F2P stuff...

I don't think they are gonna add a cosmetic slot like that Just for China, that is as much a technical thing as egi-glamours.

Also The ship has already sailed with the i110 NIN gear (AKA one of my glamours :P)

So far its very limited, the two outfits and the aforementioned PvP gear aside the only other Gearsets with wings at all are the Dreadwyrm Gear. Now How many people use that gear for Glamour nowadays (dyable or otherwise)? Likely not enought for them to be a common sight beyond the first few weeks of "look what I just got!" that most new gear goes though anyway.

You do bring up a point on the subscription. But I think not even sub games are immune to having the cosmetic aspects of f2p games. Espeiclay considering the other alledged staples like glowing weapons and mounts are already in the game (and I think WoW as well)

BTW There is something I'm curious about. Do the outfits come with the chocobo bardings? That might be an easier way to justify an 18$ price tag (espeiclay given the precidence of buying 15$ on the cosplay gear just for the hair :P)

Aion is the only game so far that did wings right: They look really good, there are actual game mechanics related to them (as in flying and aerial combat) and most importantly they are hidden most of the time.

I keep saying they are trying to milk shop + sub before going F2P. When this happens, I am so out. Don't need another game clogging my screen with even more ugly outfits (it's bad enough as it is) and wings. Go play Grand Fantasia if you like these wings, they look like an exact copy of them, just uglier cause the general game graphic is better.

Agreed, and unless they can make your character fly, they are worthless still, But of course these topics will pop up crying about "why we don't have it" the moment people see the word "exclusive" they go nuts.

I feel like everything should be available to people who wish to pay for it. Just because you do not enjoy a set does not mean others can't enjoy it. Trying to prevent somethings release to NA just so you don't have to look at it is pretty selfish. If I want to pay 18 bucks for tacky wings cuz it makes me happy power to me.

This is why we have the cash shop and why prices will steadly go up, because people just want everything. "waah i want that, let me spend money on it"

Don't like the price, don't buy anything *shrug* No one is forcing you to use the cash shop.

But the 2nd picture how the wings look like in the game... Thats so ugly
At least let the wings beat(dynamic i mean)rather than carrying the properties on the back

But what people don't understand is, your reckless spending on items that should otherwise be in the game just because "you want it" prevents future content from being reasonably available, because SE is pretty much (why make it obtainable? when people will throw money at us, they have clearly shown they will do it) but for this particular subject, china is getting something exclusive to them, and what happens? I doubt region based outfits would ever be put in game without purchase. Yes the moogle mount and Sleipner could have been ingame rewards sure that was their foul.

We requested a few outfits be considered for bring over you and you are acting like it will destroy ffxiv as we know it. I work hard for my money and if I have extra I buy a fun item. I hardly think me saying "oh look angel barding id like that." warrants being called a whale. Yeesh.

Not at all what i was implying, but if you give me $49:99 i will tell you what is wrong with this flawed point. And you can leave the "work hard for da money" argument elsewhere, i already said i do not give a care what you spend your money on. it's not mine, i am happy sitting, watching and laughing. but this has gone on for to long, my price stands ( my point was already made so there is no need to continue this)

Blaming the players who use cash shop sometimes is pointless. SE was the one who decided to add it so if you want to be angry about it don't place the anger towards someone who doesn't deserve it at all. All they are doing is using a service that SE made available to them which had an item they felt was worth the money to purchase for themselves. They made the choice to spend their money on it just as you made a choice to not buy anything from the cash shop. Your choice is not somehow superior or more important than another players.

If you want to get SE to change their services make a post/petition to remove the cash shop then. It is your choice to voice your opinion on it so do it and try to make a change instead of blaming people for just using the service that is already there and established.

Personally, I think they could've did a better job on the wings or at least add a costume without them. The costume does look nice, but the wings kind of ruin it. That barding looks really good, kind of shame that it will be CS instead of in game via crafting or something.

Not sure where you thought i was "angry" at any point, i was simply correcting him. of course they decided to add it, because people begged for it. and i even said this in another post, SE is not going to turn away FREE MONEY (or easy money in this case)

LOL yea, that will work. it will be like trying to get dragon ball banned, Not going to happen. Once again, it's easy money for SE for cosmetics, easily forgettable items, it's here to stay. i am well aware people will toss money at anything that does not require any work, so it will always be popular, SE would be brain dead to get rid of something like that. i dislike the cash shop but i actually want them to keep it, the more money that floods in, the better they work on this game, hopefully, I just won't waste any money on it, other then things that actually deserve to be there, like server transfers or fantasia.

So I don't see how they AREN'T earning it when they use their RL money to get said item. Again a case can be made that you getting it in the game with no cost isn't "earning" it, but noone wants to say it.

And no, your sub ONLY covers that you'll be able to PLAY the game it does not cover extra items. Same with DLC. You have to buy that stuff too. That's life, it may be unfair but we live in a unfair world.

Well, the dress is ok, but the wings itself are ugly. You cant even fly with them, so China can keep it.

I rather want to have some magitek jetpacks or boosters on my waist instead of a pair of wings on my back ^^.

Never thought I'd see the day where the cash shop was defended. Paying for a sub used to mean no cash shop and instead special items were implemented via quests and usually involved team work, farming, crafting etc to get. You know, it paid for stuff to be obtained by playing the game...not swiping a card.

Whales is a term usually associated with gambling, but it's a high roller, someone who wagers huge chunks of money, in this games case, spend large amounts of money for items, no matter the cost for entertainment, as long as they want it, they will throw money at it. that outfit you want cost $50 ? No problem, These people usually have no sense of value or just simply do not care because money is not an issue to them.

and the end of the day, someone will spend say $1000 in 3 weeks on cash shop items. That is considered a whale. f2P games will usually have these type of people in large numbers.
