The 'entire server' would have to split itself into three anyway; there are multiple camps yaknow. My guess is that the one near Ul'dah may suffer from this, but I highly doubt you will find quite so many people in the wilds of Grid or LL.
I predict zero difficulty enjoying the hell out of these new areas; and maybe we should stop being such a Negative Nancy and wait and see, eh?
Did them all in 1 night, and even the first set of high lv nms were easy, guess the multiple ones took a bit getting used to, tho didnt die on mossy. Nothing was challenging, and then dungeons came and it wasnt challenging and now this will not be challenging because everyone will just pound through and there will be an insane amount of people hitting the mob. Like havine CFH on 24/7 in XI.
Weird how you resort to that when its doing insanely better than XIV and its at least making money, oh yeh and its out of Korean as it released in Japan =)
Eternal Shade is a rank 25 PUG chestpiece that can easily last all the way up to rank 50 at the moment
Aquired from Queen Bolette, took about 5 minutes to knock her down with a Gladiator + Conjurer of the same rank, Conjurer almost ran out of mana, and that was with the Gladiator using heals too.
Sounds a bit more challenging than *punch marmot > marmot dies*
I think we are going off of where the new "non-marked" beastman camps were placed in various areas, when 1.18 was introduced.. If you head east of Broken Water, in the area that has since been confirmed as the Amalj'aa beastman camp, there are three Amalj'aa camps that are not marked on the map. One is rank 40 to 42, 2nd rank 44 to 46, 3rd rank 48 to 49. These were likely placed there as a sense "increased presence", I'm thinking.
Up in Treespeak, there are also three "non-marked" Ixali beastman camps, so it seems very likely the Ixali Sronghold will be in Treespeak. I'm actually not sure about La Noscea, but I have seen one unmarked kobold camp at Iron Lake, and there has always been a contingent of high-rank kobolds there, so have always figured that was where the kobolds lived.
Could always be surprised, though! :o
Why you assume I did them on my 50? They were released as "Mid-NM's" I used my Arch, which at time was 30 or 32. Was too easy for me n my friends (light pt), guess we're just the exceptional few that dont find a 5 minute easy fight of "tank holds, i spam A and healers heal. Guess i expected a bit more.
only one I did on my 50 was Koko and Jack as I was there for the items so wanted quick kills.
I want Challenging content that other people cant fk with, and this is not it, and as the forum is here for everyone and Yoshi asks us to say what we want, stop crying because i dont agree with this content.
I would be more than happy to give you a guide on how to play TERA right now if you would quit FFXIV and never come back.
btw I already have you on my ignore list have for a long time. Sometimes I decide to respond to you anyways for the benefit of others who haven't had the luxury of reading your 1,823 other gems of "insight".
If you ran around killing all the new NMs in one night, and weren't really caring about drops, You are Doing it Wrong - and your judgement that it's 'not challenging enough' isn't really worth much to me.
I can't stand braggarts... sorry the game isn't tough enough for you and your apparently bad-ass friends.
Regarding "mobbing" of new content. Here's the list of new content (as I can recall it).
Three beastman strongholds
- Ifrit primal fight
- Low level public dungeon (for those who haven't maxed out all classes, anyhow >.>' )
- Caravan escort (again for lower level classes)
- Ability to join Grand Companies
- Grand Company leves
- Grand Company "supply and replenishment" objectives (no idea what these are!)
- Brand new recipes for new items to craft
- Ability to earn private chocobo
- Brand new material drops for gatherers (e.g. specular iron ore for cobalt, materia catalysts)
- Materia melder and augmented materia melder quests for crafters
So, which do you want to do? Be the first to "beat" a stronghold (pick one of three)? Fight and defeat Ifrit? Achieve high rank in your chosen Grand Company? Earn a Chocobo? Create a new set of armor with materia? Seems like there's a decent amount of content to split people attention, plus content for lower level people that will just be starting out, which is a great thing.
If you read my other posts you'd know im far from a troll, I've never made a single thread, many of my posts are length and insightful and many talk about the game, where as you just call people people a troll and attack the poster because they dislike something that you like, thats how wars start my friend!
You could also read my signature or realise I run a dedicated XIV webapp service.
Also you getting me away from the game is 1 less subscription for the game and i guarantee im not the first you wish would leave the game and i can even more guarantee you are not the first to want someone not to play this, add all those up and you're affectively telling people to just leave and not bother giving SE any money when its p2p, so how much are you really helping out? Looking like the good guy when your opinionated voice as a whole in the community is hurting SE slowly.
I do play Tera, if you read my other 1,824 posts you'd know that. I also play many other games because I dont bind myself to one game like its a girlfriend and playing another game is an act of cheating!
=)
How is getting an item by killing lots of time "a Challenge"? I also didnt know i had to play a specific way.
Reported for this, thank you for reminding me how low and amateur this community has stooped.
Example of S.E's current speed over other popular MMO:
Since release S.E has altered many of the core features of this game including the battle classes, crafting classes, the ways they operate, and stuff like that, they're about to release an enormous patch with an unbelievable amount of content on it at almost the exact 1 year mark since it's release.
Blizzard released Wrath Of The Lich King, then made minor class tweaks here and there for about a year then all they gave people was 1 raid, 6 months later they got.... another raid, then 6 months later they got..... another raid and 3 extremely short dungeons.
Warhammer Online has only really ever released minor patches and 2 resonable sized content patches since it came out years ago.
Age Of Conan had an expansion pack that added 1 new area, a few new dungeons, a new race and a whole bunch of new reps to grind.
We getting the picture now?
If S.E's speed is 'slow' to you then all these other MMO's may as well just stop moving. :p
My bad, quotation removed and emote added to remove finger pointing and add light-hearted tone to post.
Sorry 'bout that :3
Btw who are those three people in your sig anyways?
The one in the middle is scary.
Sort of looks like Nana Kitade +2 extra from google images :3
LOL .
And magically the strange totally irrelevant change of topic for just a few posts has qwuelled the thread rage again.
I should have been a community rep (b'.')b
Continue beastman camp debate!
It's a challenge, because you have to learn to kill the mobs efficiently and quickly, so that people can get drops. Sure you and your group of bad-asses zerged Alux once or twice; good for you. As you said, he and others are hardly impossible to beat, especially if a few members of your group are higher level (which I am pretty sure was the case, as that's how 99% of these things go). But is there any real skill in that? Nope. However, figuring out how to beat a mob consistently, quickly and safely is difficult, and those skills really help out later in the game when you are facing life-or-death situations in tougher content.Quote:

You might want to take a look at your posts and ask yourself: "why do posters here seem to think I come across as an elitist jerk, when I'm not one?" Perhaps you could be slightly less negative if you don't want to be perceived that way. Going on and on about how great other MMOs are simply isn't going to make you friends around here. Bragging about what a good player you and your friends are doesn't help either.
Back on topic, re: the Beastmen strongholds: I think your fears are misplaced. Why don't you wait and try it a bit, after it comes out? Then you can come back and tell us how much it sucks, with proof...
I think it might be a good idea to post high res pics like those on lodestone every update, because when www.massively.com does news articles on FFXIV, they have to scale up the photos and it ends up reducing the quality and it reflects poorly on the game's graphics. Or maybe that's just massively.com.
I foresee large mob trains to zone. epic linkage
I foresee all these people complaining about the 1.19 content will suddenly decide they like it when they play it.
They will then commence trolling and flaming about the 1.20 content untill that comes out, and repeat, untill they eventually develop a split personality from the constant changes of mind, and that split personality strangles them in their sleep.
I won't be doing the beastmen camps anytime soon though, I'm only rank 24 conjurer and I'm not that interested in beating stuff up anyways.
However it does sound interesting and will be something I will want to experience eventually, when I want to.
I once trained a Tonberry in FFXI all the way to Kazham before they patch mobs to depop, it was an epic accidental MPK'age. I remember those times in Garlaige Citadel too XD
TERA's selling pointing was... well, look at female humans in it and it'll be quite clear.
Sex does indeed sell, but not when that is all you're getting.
Unless that's all you wanted.
There's a nice one on the horizon called Lonestar that looks quite good though.
Oh and that enemy reinforcement thing sounds like fun.
Like you've got a 50 kill chain going, you charge at a marmot and suddenly an enormous army of marmots come steaming over a nearby hill and stomp you into the ground XD
I foresee many extremely funny youtube videos in the near future.
I can't believe there was someone actually recording that guy do that.
