I am so happy with these changes. to finally be able to map my kb is a big step in the right direction for me and im sure every other kb user out there.
Yo Rubicon did you play FFXI and if so was it under that name and what server?
I vote for green.
Greeeen =D
I tend to change my mind on what colour I want things to be quite often.
I'm hoping one day they add a tool that allows me to choose the colour of windows, fonts and borders on the UI.
That's hoping, not demanding, not expecting, it's just be nice to have. If they never add it, I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it.
I feel like the proposed coloring of names to identify level of rarity is a little boring.
I think it would be nice to have something where the text is nicer than just having a color change...like an embossed and shiny text or something like that, that gives it a little luster and lets you know it's special.
Good choice devs, but again, don't forget us colour blind people!
Everything sounds good. Im just still waiting on an automatic macro system where my skill configuration for a specific class are automatically saved whenever I switch classes. Very annoying to keep rewriting them every other week.
Pffft. This proves beyond the doubt that I am man amongst men. Unlike you I can admit I like something cute and funny and post it as my sig as proof. I ain't gonna change it because ain't comfortable with your sexuality bro.
Funny thing is I was getting ready to change it, but now since you said that it just gained another week of life.
Quote:
Six or more levels above character level : Optimal Level 35
Up to five levels above character level : Optimal Level 35
Equal to character level : Optimal Level 35 (No color change - White)
Up to five levels below character level : Optimal Level 35
Six or more levels below character level : Optimal Level 35
This is what makes the most sense to me.
There needs to be some distinction between equal to, and less than. Otherwise people will just think wearing something five levels early is just as good as the optimal level.
I don't understand why you would highlight being below your rank as an issue.
Depending on your build, that may be the best item available. Why should all of my stuff be colored as "you're doing it wrong", when I'm doing it exactly right?
Lol this made me giggle. If someone has trouble typing, what on earth are they doing playing an MMO in the first place?Quote:
In this instance, it is very difficult to type in an item with a very long name or explain to a new player the effects of a weapon.
Still, +1 to the post and thank you, Bayohne.
I think the point is more along the lines of instead of answering that question with "At level X you should look into Items A, B, or C because (long-winded game mechanics)" (I have done this :() you can simply say "look for gear that is Green" without overwhelming newbies.
My bad, I'm too used to people missing the point and freaking out about dev posts =X, not that you were =P
Though... the question usually isn't which gear is my level, the question is, which one is best. I myself feel like the long winded explanation was always fun ^^ Made the high knowledgeable players feel like they were smart and helpful and the low leveled players felt warmly overwhelmed and now they have a new friend which they'll ask questions to nonstop!
This will be convenient for people just rushing through the game and don't care about stats too much.
Completely agree, love the colour system, its always the quiest way "Got full blue set =D" even in XI they'd say like "whitebox" or just "box" for hq items.
It saves you trouble to explain to 'that' party member/ls mate/random noob that you can't be bothered to go deep into mechanics.
When you min-max item names will be important. If not? Greens/Blues are good.
I like colour system 4 gear, what about the same one for mobs?
