For those who may not have noticed, the functionality of Bane has changed even though the description has not. No doubt it'll be fixed in an upcoming hotfix.
JP:
対象に付与したバイオ、バイオラ、ミアズマを対象の周囲の敵に拡散させる。
4体目以降の対象に対しては威力が半減する。
Spreads a target's Bio, Bio II, and Miasma to nearby enemies.
For the fourth and all remaining enemies, the potency is halved.
I feel too happy to be a SMN. Is this real life?
HOLD ON! So it spreads to all targets now? the damage is just cut in half after the fourth MOB. I dont believe it. Screenshots please
Can confirm, gathered 10 enemies and Baned. All died. Confirmed.
Did SMN really need this ... ???
HOLY MOLY, that means SCH can do this too!!!! I dont think they needed it but since all AOE's can hit all mobs if positioned correcty in this game accept for ARR Bane. they just made it even I guess
Kk. Thought I was dreaming when I saw how many mobs it spread to
Really? There is so many people around i didnt notice the change un Bane. Even if the damage cuts after the 4th enemy affected this are good news
Some quick testing since I think that "Data Collection" is broken? (I would really like to know what Ifrit's DPS is now with the same i130 Gear)
(Dreadwyrm Grimoir)
Bio Damage
336 DET + 408 SPD + 658 INT = 152-168
268 DET + 590 SPD + 663 INT = 157-174
305 DET + 441 SPD + 663 INT = 153-170
So it looks like Spell Speed does impact dots quite a bit.
So Spell Speed and Crit!! Got it
Way to early to say.
If they don't make det item budgets in line with other stats, its going to be useless.
I'm running my high crit/spell speed BLM gear to get a feel for the differences in stats.
I do notice my big nukes are hitting for less than stacking high det.
Definitely going to be a complex journey, between CD skills, dots, pets, AOE.
Hows that simulator going Pandabearcat?
<_<
You mean I won't be flamed for wanting to play summoner soon?
Maybe I will take up the nugget-master (those summons = nuggets) again
Hey, can you summoners go back and look at the tooltip of Spellspeed? It says "Also affects a Spell's damage over time potency AND duration". Someone please stack load of Spellspeed and see if their spells duration increases?
Any confirmations on how Crit works?
Alright so, I want to thank devs for listening and making changes to this job that I love so much, thank you so much <3333333
I've noticed so many changes, minor ones like how:
- garuda stops attacking if you bind something, I never noticed this before... maybe it's just me
- pets' abilities and skills activation delay is reduced.
- ifrit's radiant shield buff even though the tool tip is somewhat misleading..
- bane being awesome, same tool tip issue..
- pets' elemental changes and resistances/defense <3
- the teases in the main story quest and job quest with the skin changes we will be getting <3
I have way more to count since there are so many good changes and i just can't keep up. Thank you so much SE ;______;
pls don't nerf
I can confirm you can use AF stacks while in DWS. Pretty op.
Can you extend the duration of Dreadwyrm Trance while within it with the Aetherflow? Or it just resets it?
So it turns out I dislike machinist and would much rather play SMN.
Hooray!
Yeah, this change is pretty ridiculous. Although the damage is not extreme and I don't think that it is even 50 Potency (does like 40-50 damage @ i130 outside of Rouse/Spur which indicates that it is like 25 Potency?) I am really excited to use it during Titan under Rouse/Spur during stomps.
Anyone figure out if Dreadwyrm stance snapshots dots?
I test yesterday dps between garuda and ifrit and it was like 20 ~ dps difference. It is pretty small difference once your dps is around 800 - 900(combined your pet) with 15X gear. I think utility between garuda and ifrit heavily depends how you can utilize radiant shield and contagion. Other thing that can make difference is spell speed trait since ifrit hit 2x more often(because of auto attack) you have 2x better chance trait get procced with ifrit than garuda. Both garuda and ifrit is doing pure magical damage so you can not get boost from dragon kick or slashing debuff anymore. Need also more tests because parser can be broken as well.
I don't know if my opener is correct but here is my tentative opener
Rouse + Spur bio 2 > Energy drain > miasma > bio > Painflare Enkindle > ruin 2 > Raging Strikes+energy drain > Ruin 2> Dreadwyrm Trance + aetherflow > ruin 2 > potion fester > miasma 2 > quelling swiftcast > shadowflare > painflare Tri-Disaster > Ruin 3 + contagion > Ruin 2 > fester Deathflare
I'm contemplating using Garuda for Contagion until the second swiftcast as it doesn't seem like there is too much of a difference between ifrit and garuda on the opener and I think the extra potency on the raging+pot dots would be worth it.

If anyone has yet to reach 60 but has a rotation in mind they want to try, please write it so I can try them all out and compare the differences.
Don't use Energy drain..
Opener using Ifrit:
Rouse - Spur (before pull)
Bio (Enkindle) - Bio II - Miasma - Fester - Ruin II (Swiftcast) - Shadowflare - Ruin II (Painflare) - Ruin II+ / Bio Refresh (Fester)
Aetherflow (Pot + Raging Strikes) - Dreadwyrm Trance (Tri-Disaster + Fester) - Ruin III (Painflare) - Ruin III+ (Fester) - Deathflare (at 1sec)
Being able to pop 2 fester and deathflare during dreadwyrm trance is really nice, but thats only possible if you save Tri-disaster.
Didn't think of that. I need to make a spreadsheet to break everything down. :/
The difference between energy drain and painflare is 50 potency so if you shouldn't use energy drain you shouldn't use painflare. Also in between bio and your ruin 3s you spend like 3 seconds doing nothing but applying oGCDs and this has been proven to be an extreme dps loss in most cases. The difference between ruin 2 and ruin 3 is 40 potency but you get the freedom to apply more buffs and do more during the first dread trance. The opener is going to look a lot different from later parts in the fight because you have so much to hit. You also ignore shadowflare which is a pretty big dot. You also go into dreadwyrm trance WAY late (by 2 GCDs) because you aren't using energy drain. We only apply tri-disaster 1 gcd later than you do and thats because bio is about to fall off. Using bio more than once in the opener dealigns things significantly. Doing it this way, Shadowflare will be going down during dreadwyrm trance twice and benefits significantly (an extra ticks worth of dmg each) because of it.
Hmm, an update on the rotation: Saving that last fester after the first DWS falls off, and using it right before the Alteration stacks fall off. This ensures you can always have AF stacks when going in DWS.
