Has anYone made bis for crit without the sword and scepter? Use the zenith rod still? Everyone doesn't have excess to those sword and shields, have a crit set for the rod, one for sword and board, and one for elder staff.

For the Elder Staff or Relic+1, prioritizing INT (so assume all i90) > CHR > DET > SS:
Sorcerer's Petasos
Sorcerer's Coat
Direwolf Gloves of Casting
Allagan Rope Belt of Casting
Allagan Breeches of Casting
Allagan/Myth shoes
Hero's Necklace of Casting
Allagan Earrings of Casting
Hero's Bracelet of Casting
Vortex Ring of Casting
Hero's Ring of Casting
197 Critical Hit Rate
78 Spell Speed
89 Accuracy
50 Determination
Food used would be Deviled Eggs, stats above not reflected
For Allagan Scepter + Ancient Shield (this is my personal BiS), same priorities:
Sorcerer's Petasos
Allagan Tunic of Casting
Direwolf Gloves of Casting
Allagan Rope Belt of Casting
Allagan Breeches of Casting
Allagan/Myth shoes
Hero's Necklace of Casting
Allagan Earrings of Casting
Hero's Bracelet of Casting
Vortex Ring of Casting
Hero's Ring of Casting
171 Critical Hit Rate
104 Spell Speed
94 Accuracy
48 Determination
Food used would be Buttons/Deviled, stats above not reflected
For both sets above, if you're not into PvP, replace the gloves with the Allagan Gloves of Casting for +11 DET and +21 SS, and subtract 21 CHR.
FML. This is like my 3rd month running Coil every single bloody week and still no breeches from turn 4. I want to just jump off the Coral Tower in Limsa.
Yep same boat for me and my 3 other FC mates. What sucks is those pants are pretty crucial for the BIS gear to work. It seems as though if we don't have ALL the BIS then it messes up the rest of our gear slots esp when it comes to acc or a specific build toward SS or crit
Also thank you sleigh.
So do we have a definitive answer as to what is best for us as far as crit or SS? I just decided to just try do SS just so I would not have stats everywhere.
It doesn't matter whether the BIS is SS or CC, both have their advantages. What sucks is the myth pants is just inferior in every single way. That huge amount of accuracy from the Allagan Breeches enables you to use more accessories that do not have any kind of accuracy.
Oh my fellow BLMs...I feel for you. 3 months of coil, no pantzu for me. I was so desperate, since it'll be my last piece outside of T5 neck/T5 wep, that I rolled on caster pants from CT this week. I'll be grabbing the myth ones here in a week and will never bother worrying about them again (unless I main SMN instead).
The myth pants are quite good, though. SS and CRIT on one piece. You can get enough ACC through accessories like I have. You'd just have to not use the Allagan tunic.
All you need is the T5 weapon to make it viable..which, sadly, has yet to drop in 7 kills for us.
So much for not relying on drops from coil, huh?
Anyone else have gotten an absurd amount of MNK belt in T4? We have gotten 8+ so far, I don't think it is RNG when it is this constant from the chest that drops the legs.
I have this feeling there's a pseudo-random thing that goes with the server time/day, just speaking gibberish with no proof though. Try changing your coil timings or day. Ever since we changed to Monday night, it has been consistent healer gear drops. Probably going to change the day.
Isn't the loot distribution between chests all screwed up? Like how one chest only holds 4 items and the second one 10 or something like that in T1. At least you're hunting for that one final piece, unlike my group. We just got our first healing drop ever last week after 8 or 9 weeks. The healing ring also somehow got turned into a wedding ring after it dropped, and I was told I should get one now...
Anyone with comments on the Crimson pants vs Sorcerer's Tonban? There's a buttload of det on the Crimson, but does it make up for the 4 int the Tonban offers?
I have another question. By stacking crit or SS we end up really lowering our det. Det determines how hard our spells hit for right? Shouldn't there be some det put into the crit and SS so our spells hit harder? It just seems like we are lowering our damage by making our det so low. Is there a way to get decent stats on all 3 and put out more damage then a strict crit or SS or det bis set? Has anyone tried this method?
4 vit is 60 HP, but yeah, Sorcerer is better than Crimson.
@Pinworms
5 DET equals exactly 1 INT
1 INT can add anywhere from +0.15 to +1.9 damage depending on spell used (see spread)
There is zero obligation for you to max out any one stat (unless it suits your style or if you have OCD towards a stat). My BiS gear options simply shows the differences between each stacked stats (DET vs CRIT vs SSPD) the game has to offer at its current state. 99% of players will go for a blend of the three, including myself.
Patch 2.1 gave more CRIT gear to play around with. Spell SPD will probably get more love next time around.
On the side note, call me crazy but I can actually 'feel' the difference of 0.03 sec between 2 gear sets. I probably am crazy.. :O
We're both in the same boat. :P
I honestly wouldn't spend it on the pants. Just wait for it to drop assuming you currently clear all content.
My DPS, as it is right now, is enough to clear everything at i89 like yours. Upgrading a secondary job right now seems more important less you are really hell bent on getting i90.
Without diminishing returns, stacking a stat is the best way to bring out the most damage you can do.
This information is epic. You deserve a great deal of credit.
Yet another week with no pants from Turn 4. :(
I would always go with Crit BiS, just feels right with a burst job like BLM. DET set is also flat damage increase which is not based on RNG like Crit. Either way, like others said, ilvl90 Det, crit or SS is good enough.
I'm starting to think T4 loot is bugged, unless someone did get the leg after patch 2.1. We got 8 MNK belts so far :(.
I have everything on the left side of the character sheet other than the pants. Belt, cloak, etc.
Yeah so far we've seen 3 circlets of casting, 1 allagan earing, 1 ring, 2 belts, 1 boots and that's it. Yet our tank with a monk alt (nobody else in our group has or plays monks) got 6 pieces of gear in the first 2 weeks for his monk. His alt was more geared than his tank main at one point, it's so stupid. I hit i90 yesterday with only 2 allagan pieces after 2 months of 1-4. Turn 1-5 should be more like CT, you can do it as many times for 1 guarantied drop a week.
Maybe that's not the solution, but I'm tired of destroying this stupid content for two months now with nothing to show for it because RNG.
Considering how they've messed up coil loot distribution system before... that 11% might as well be 1%
But once it dropped... your pants will also drop. I'll just leave it at that. ^^
I don't really have any exciting updates for the spread other than adding on to old tests (crit chance, etc..). Some people have been messaging me about new viable rotation that they've been testing and what not.
If you have any questions about anything, just let me know.
Cheers.
Got my allagan pants a week after i bought mytho pants. such a waste of tomes.
You may want to add this to your Document, gear page, BiS no Acc dmg set for everything outside Coil including EM Primals:
Weapon: Allagan Scepter + Ancient Buckler (or Elder Staff until RNG smiles upon your poor soul)
Head: Myth.
Body: Allagan.
Gloves: Allagan.
Waist: Allagan.
Legs: Myth (Allagan is more crit but we are ignoring Acc here)
Boots: Myth or Allagan
Neck: Hero.
Earrings: Allagan.
Bracelet: Hero.
Ring 1: Hero.
Ring 2: Vortex.
Note: There seem to be an Acc requirement for EM primals, but it is very low, low enough that you won't even have to worry about it or even consider it. I'm only saying this because when I told a SMN to strip out completely from his T5 set in Titan EM and equip just ilvl90 damage gear, Garuda-egi did miss 2 attacks.
Would be more interesting for "common" people (and those who don't want elder staff) to have the Relic+1 BiS set :D
The patch 2.0 tables are still relevant for stardust +1 users, just scroll down a bit.
You're sure of that ?
Even with 2.1 primal accessories, the 2.0 table is still the most efficient?
Most efficient, probably not, but very close. You can use common sense, such as the vortex + hero rings will usually be the best ring combo. There's some potential for the tremor earrings if you're having trouble getting enough accuracy from other items and the ifrit bracelet looks poor compared to the alternatives.
