I would like this answered as well. Is it possible to hit the caps with raptorskin gear? The DoH have a generic set (patricians) that can hit the useful caps.

Is there any benefit to melding primary stat (dex, int, etc) or elemental resistance materia onto gathering gear? Some node bonuses are calculated by them; In particular, I'm thinking of the shard/crystal node that have a +yield bonus with the right kind of elemental resistance, which I've seen on lv 30 nodes but not noticed on lv 50.

Tried to meld Gatherer's Grasp Materia IV on my Rapstorskin Survival Belt and Raptorskin Choker but the materia was greyed out eventhough I had Grade 4 Carbonized Matter. I was able to select Gatherer's Grasp Materia III, though.

you can't meld Materia IV on gear below itemlevel 55. You shoud use Materia III for your Raptorskin Gear. For your miner's gear or equivalent you can use your Materia IV because its itemlevel 55+.

Militia Bracelets cap is +4 Gathering and +4 Perception. Not sure if that was mentioned but should be updated.

Confirmed. Militia Sledgehammer (MIN) melding cap is:

Gathering + 11
Perception + 20
GP + ??? (Don't know, don't care for it)


I am going to presume these caps are the same for the BTN off hand.

GP cap for DoL offhand is 4.
