Purposely failing? That's a new one. I've done this quite a few times and it was usually stalled until the 2 minute mark, but NEVER failed on purpose. If that is really the case I agree that it would be "not intended", but that's a problem with every leve, not just this one..

Intentional or not, this does happen on other leves throughout the world.

Lots of people in this thread have apparently not played 1.0 at launch (or 11). You will get banned for exp exploits (like the one in the first week of 1.0 launch) and frankly SE doesn't care about your opinion of whether it's an exploit or not. But hey, they were being nice in 1.0 and allowed people to turn themselves in and get reset hundreds of thousands of exp and skill points. The people who didn't got banned pretty quick. And if the past is anything to go by, you can be banned by exploits you did years back too. It really doesn't matter if you think it's legitimate or not. If SE believes that this is not intended, they will ban users who abused this.

Why does it even matter? It's not like its effecting anyone in a negative way. If you don't like just skip the fate or kill them yourself and move on with life. No need to whine about it on the forum

I'm surprised at all the people getting mad because OP pointed out this obvious oversight by SE.
I take it you are all just angry that you might have to level the legit way if they fix it.

It is effecting other players who want to do other FATEs.

@makii: a lot of people want to get all them jobs 50 in the first 2 month i guess *shrugs*

Every time I am in Northern Thanalan and Dark Devices - The Bait is up, I have and will complete the FATE's objectives. I've got scores of screenshots of all the malicious / harassing tells/shouts and masses telling everyone to blacklist me and so forth. To be honest, those players blacklisting me are doing me a favor by completing 1/2 of the process of me not wanting to play with / or socialize with people like them. I've filed numerous GM reports for harassment and will continue to do so. My 'reputation' as every one wants to point out as being such a huge thing is not of any concern as I have a nice Free Company with decent people who like to enjoy the game without going out of their way to make roundabout excuses for a potential oversight on SE's side.

Is it working as intended? A bug? An exploit? No official reply to any of those, however I felt and still feel that is not working the way they intended and a bug / exploit. Not going to go out of my way to tell others that, however I do file the GM reports and have filed it as a bug report to SE without an answer.

People can keep attempting to grind as much EXP as they'd like and if I'm around in the zone, I'll be sure to pick up some extra seals in a quick fashion by killing a few lambs. To each their own and let SE decide it.

It hardly takes that long. Go make a sandwich... Watch some TV, do homework. I just don't understand the whining. There are far worse issues with FFXIV then this.

Not really an exploit, just bad design. I personally know of one person who has leveled this way.
