People worked hard to get to 45 and 50. Constantly spamming Numpad 0 may seem like a mundane task, but it is still hard work.
You do realize tha that is not the better gear in the game yes? You do realize that that gear been around since 1.0? So is nothing NOTHING shine and new so stfu and stop complaining.
It's easy to get, and the fact that it's replaced by something that requires more effort explains why. If they planted them in dungeons, then you'd have people saying "Got my AF, kthxbai" in the middle of a run. That'd be especially fun if it's the healer.
I already replaced some of the AF gear with level 50 Greens from wanderers/amp. It's just there for storyline purposes and it won't last long.
All the legacy players were told the AF gear they had was just going to be introductory gear come realm reborn.
Ok, I didn't bother reading anything past the first page here so someone probably (hopefully) said this already, but I'll say it anyway.
To all of you complaining about this, did you guys NOT notice that there's already a lot better gear to get at level 50?
Even the first dungeon "The Wanderer's Palace" drop better green stuff than that.
What exactly is the problem?
I'm a new player (not legacy) and I've already replaced most of that gear..
Now that I've started with uni and work, I'm kind of glad it's not going to take forever and a day to get my armour once I'm level 45 and onwards. Already got burnt out with the sunken temple and Cutter's cry (to a lesser extent since we managed to lose two members, get two more, beat the princess and her shitstorm, and then run madly for the chimera and beat it in 5 minutes).
Worked hard? My wife and I played 1.0 for less than 2 months during 2012 and had 2 full sets each. It wasn't difficult to get then. It's even easier now.
Besides, the armor isn't very good anyways. If anything, it gives you a base to upgrade from moving into the endgame.
I'm not understanding the problem. Neither XI or 1.0 required a terrible amount of effort to obtain your AF and in neither game was the AF particularly useful for an extended period. This AF still serves its purpose as being entry-level gear, but without the extra effort (read: tedium) attached to obtaining it before it's readily replaced by something better.
