Is the water that bad?

found a realistic water demo looks similar to ffxiv from vids i seen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7RGv0HOlDc&NR=1 oh and ffxi water was obviously fake to say there isn't much differece is pretty bad.

Well... what about the differences in water from region to region.
Or Ocean to lake to stream?
Are they rendered using essentially the same method? should they be?
Aside from the ferry ride water, which looks more like abstract art than water....
so....
water around the city-state Limsa Lominso
Small streams in The Black Shroud
Lake in the black Shroud
Lakes in Coerthas
Lakes in Mor Dhona
Water at the dock (not while on the ferry though) on the Thanalan side

The water is fine.

Now why can't I go in it?

Even in Double Dragon you could go in toxic water...and that was for the nes!

Well that s dx11, and XIV is dx9.

I dont midn the water too much in XIV, I hate the waterfalls, they're the most ugliest flat things ever. Even Xi's was better lol.

I wouldn't call the current water (aside from the ferry) a deal breaker
You can nit pick but overall the black shroud looks great...

It'll be pretty much like water in this image, I think.
