I don't see the need for SE to ever release an SDK, other games don't have them and their add-on communities thrive.
Hell, XI didn't have one and windower plugins were always being developed.
People will find a way without an SDK.

It's not an issue of if. they've already said there will be add-on support. And no, it wouldn't necessarily already be here. Their first priority is making a good game. Add-on support is not a high priority, nor should it be. It will come eventually, and when it does, I'll welcome it. But they by no means need to hurry up and make it.
It was specifically mentioned in the PDFs released at 2.0's announcement, was discussed in various interviews as well.

Yoshi has sad multiple times there will be add-on support (apparently using Flash). This shouldn't be news to anyone here.
FF has been simulated "multi-player" since their early days. Dig out your old PS console, you will see most of the battles in the FF series were parties with other class NPCs, and very little solo-avatar play.Quote:
