Wait a minute, because fate trains are more interesting and fulfilling than tome content? Are you seriously telling me that fate trains or mob grind is more engaging than I don't know, a dungeon run? Raids? Deep dungeons? Or pvp?
Lets be real, 99% of the Time when a Relic Step hits you are anyway at tomestone cap, i buy always ALL the glam you can buy with tomestone gear and was not once not at the cap when the relic hits (without even doing dailys or anything, just here and there sometimes if i had motivation a normal raid or anything) so in other words
at cap when relic releases - instant bought
4 months later
already at cap - instant bought
so on so on, atleast the atma step forces to do something active and not passive
And acting like tomes is equivalent to “achieve it however you want” is also completely disingenuous because ratio of earned tomes to effort put in is so tilted to particular activities that you basically grief yourself to do anything else and of those activities 90% of them amount to general daily tasks anyway
Like even ARR light step understood that more effort should give more but relics=tomestones basically amounts to “do your daily’s then spam hunt trains”, sure you CAN do EO but the rate of tomes from EO is so hilariously low as an example it’s not an incentive or a pick you own adventure, it’s a pity reward for doing something you were already going to do even if you didn’t have a relic to make
People wanted things to grind. You either have a system where:
1) Fate trains to grind, nothing else.
Or
2) Tome grind, which can be fate/hunt trains for optimal output, or other things.
Like, I'm not saying every activity behind tomes is especially stellar, but I can't see a world where 1) would even prove superior to 2) in any regard. I'd certainly like them to give us more engaging systems to make relics with, but at least with tomes I can grind them however the fuck I want.
Maybe stop being so biased? Option 1 at least try to give us new content (field operation), whether it's a hit or not is different discussion. Meanwhile in option 2 you're stuck doing fate farm on old zones and duty finder that you already done daily anyway (or maybe deep dungeon, idk, but they are equally, if not more, unfun amd tedious)
It's not a FATE train, but a CE train. There's a difference because CEs are significantly more fun and threatening than dungeon bosses.
