The voice direction in English is really bad in this expansion but the japanese voice acting is one of the best XIV ever had.
Funny that a certain youtube idiot (ProJared) said everyone who thought that way didn't know what good voice acting was and "only liked hearing cute noises we don't understand". And I know other English speakers who think that way too.
Imagine thinking you need to understand the exact words of a language to distinguish emotions and intonation. That's such a typical "ENGLISH! DUB ONLY!" american mentality.
Good voice acting has little to do with the words you say and a lot more with how you make characters sound for appropriate moments.

People are just tired of HC's that try to force their will on others by associating/mixing up FANTASY GAME Characters/Assets with Real life People/Communities.
Most people play Games to take a break from Real life, not to have yet another Drama going on because someone wants to feel offended.

You will, one day, be forced to reckon with these failures produced so regularly I can practically set my watch by them, and reconcile them with your assertions as to their excellence. Hopefully, you are made to do so before I go to meet my maker, because that will be fucking hilarious to witness.

What does this even mean? And where were you during Heavensward and Stormblood.
Blatantly looking through an american lens.

Also, avoiding harmful stereotypes when engaging in a story with BIPOC characters is important in celebrating the culture respectfully. Someone already mentioned earlier, the characters with "Jaja" in their names... That would have been a disaster had SE not gone the extra mile to actually include diverse voices in the playing of these characters.
What culture are you talking about? You do realise this is a game right? Just a fantasy game, talking elephants, faeries, weird orange cat...bunny and cat people...and lizzards.
