Will Dawntrail Surprise Us With A Major LGBTQ+ Character In The MSQ

Problem is this discussion implies romance/relationship between NPCs and that's something that the game has consistently avoided.

There are numerous NPC's with an implied romantic interest for another (Urianger and Moenbryda being, probably, the most heavily implied) but the Devs would evidentially rather continue 'teasing' through implication rather than develop anything beyond that. As to why, who knows - but I don't think they'll indulge this as they seem happier to maintain the status-quo.

That is kinda true but not entirely. The scions are mostly left untouched besides Thancred being known for having a interest in ladies in the past.

But we do have at least two confirmed gay couples in the game, one from the valentinesday quest and one from the ARR dungeon questline for the wanderer's palace where a gay couple says they feel with the tonberrys cause they know how prejudice feels like. So CBU3 already touched that topic all the way back in ARR.

And i am fine with them leaving the rest open to speculation. Not that it makes any forking difference, i doubt we will ever see the sexuality of the scions etc. turn into something that is gameplay relevant. Even tho i know half the playerbase would gladly pay triple the sub fee for a "quicktime event" with G'raha. <shrugs>

I personally feel like the Devs shouldn't be forced to implement something cause of some pressure from outside. Let them make their own decisions, if a character is gay then that character is gay, duh. And if they decide the whole world is straight also fine by me. Rather have them focus on important character traits and not some sexuality bs no matter if straight or gay.

Also we already have multiple gay characters/couples in the game. Enough representation for my taste.

Maybe i am a deviant deviant then cause i am gay and i sure don't like it when stuff like sexuality gets the spotlight. It's a interesting sidenote maybe, like with the Quest in ARR and that was more than enough, a bit of acknowledgment that came from the devs without getting asked for it or pressured.

In my eyes true equality and acceptance is only achieved if humanity can finally stop giving a fuck about other peoples legal private life choices.

No i hope not. I dont want it, as nowadays its forced so much into everything and just opens a gate id rather have closed. And no im bi myself so im for sure not homophobic.

Completely agree with this. Most of the XIV relationships are just hinted at or implied outside more minor NPCs that may explicitly state they are married like the twins’ parents. That way people can pick and chose their own headcanon of what’s going on romantically as they please. Or it’s subtle enough that it can all be ignored.

Like I personally think Yshtola and Runar have something and others may be offended by this or disagree for whatever reason. People have disagreed about if Graha and/or Alisae have crushes on our WoL. I don’t think there are definitive answers but I don’t think there is anything wrong with talking about what you think is going on in your WoLs story. It’s just others may disagree.

And for those who don’t care, that’s fine. But you don’t need to follow around anyone that finds it fun to speculate about with insults or insinuations.

Where did you get that from? Google translate is horrible when it comes to Latin.

Verb for love in Latin is “amare”, noun is “amor”. There’s no “ami” whether it’s declensions or conjugations.

Ami, which is used several times in the English version of game (like ami/amie d’Ameliance), is the French word for friend (amicus/amica in Latin). There is the Italian verb amare (same as latin) but it’s at the present tense and second person singular (“tu ami” or “you love”) and the English version of the game does not use Italian.

Edit again: ami is masculine singular, so it applies to the crystal. If it were about both girls, it would be “amies”. It may also simply be a transliteration from Japanese.

Personally I don’t care how people interpret that scene. It could be either way.

No it wont, I quite literally dont care.

I dont need people to "confirm" my sexual identity, I am bi, I know it, I dont need the entire world to adjust to my sexuality.

Why is this crap thread still alive?
