@ Viion: Agreed, I read it back and found it a bit too harshly concluded. And actually read the latest posts while I was typing my essay lol. I went a bit far as to say that it would destroy it. I don't want people to be stuck and experience the bad side of waiting for grouping. I do agree that S-E did a good job with the mini-primals. Especially Garuda. Who is still hard to beat on easy mode but perfectly doable with all party setups if played right.
Usually the best thing to do is keep it in a way that grouping is the only way before eventually allowing changes to be applied so that new players can solo it or at least do it with a small group. Like how S-E seems to be doing with FFXI now. Honestly I'm always trying to find some good solution to this but it is very hard to please both my inner sides that either wants to do it in a group but doesn't want to wait ages to do it.

I'm sorry but there is really no excuse for not being able to get a group for something like AF. There are still plenty of people who need it, and there always will be. If this is truly too much for you, use the content finder, but you are really missing out on arguably the biggest aspect of MMO's.
Nonetheless you shouldn't be allowed to ruin grouping for the rest of us. I'm fine with content finder, I would never use it because I don't have your issue. But at least its not taking away what I enjoy just because you can't. -

Lets say somebody takes a break for a while, or have a hectic work schedule. Eventually players on his server will move on to newer content leaving the old one behind. Also his playtime is on off hours when most people is asleep or at work or in another region prime time.
That happened to me. Never finished WotG on FFXI.
I don't blame people that don't always help. People will usually do main stories once. Why would you go back and do it again? Like if you have a time machine and can go back into time..
Just saying.
It would be nice if there was some kind of mentor system, or a karma system that rewards helpers. let it be extra seals, anima, achievement. Something worthwhile. -

I meet friends, i have tons of friends on my FL list, well over 50, and while maybe 20-30 can be online at 1 time, if i try do anything its:
"i dont need it"
"ls content only"
"try shout"
"if you get 6 more i will join"
woooooo. I am glad people are really playing like MMO players, help each other out and being social! Its so refreshing /sarcasm.
Fortunately the content finder might make things a little easier, especially if the player base goes up a little at 2.0 then might not be so difficult to get 8 players.
@Murugan you just dont get it, im sorry but you have just no say when you dont know how hard it is.
It took me 3 weeks to get my BLM AF Body, shouting, asking around, finally i lucked out into a group. If i had been busy with real life things I would of still been searching.
Everything is pretty when you get everything right away, just because you see shouts often doesnt mean they actually suceed or even better yet fill up. Also it is likely they've been shouting for hours and hours.
I dont see how making stuff for story soloable ruins anything for anyone. The people who would do it soloable are fucked over and cant do it now at all and thus dont play or end up moving to other content. There is a large amount of players who are simply skipping content due to requiring 8 people all the time.

I still haven't bothered to do AF for the jobs I don't need, most people I play with regularly have all of their AF. But when it comes time to do it my first step isn't going to be begging people for help, it is going to be doing some work on my own to help organize a party with others who need it. Because people appreciate that, and are much more willing to help the more a person does to organize the group before asking for help from those who are just there to help.
I know I do when I help people, which I do and there are dozens of people on Ridill who I've helped get AF who I don't even know. -

I don't understand why people play online games if they don't want to interact with other players.
Yoshi-p has already said that the content finder can be used for almost any party style content so you shouldn't have a problem finding a party in 2.0. -
