It wasn't. A few people have jumped to that conclusion, but there were and are other world events too.

But unlike those other events, this was the most notible one. Involving countries that were quite active in gaming.
As company you often dont want to bring it out like that, as it just gives a political statement. Political statements can often backfire as it can prevent you from trading in certain countries, even after the issue was resolved. So being save and generic is logical. At the same time, it also indirectly indicates you care about the other cases (even if you effectively dont).
I guess if your area wasn't under 20 metres of flood water or covered in ash from a volcano.
Even if SE were masking a statement to avoid offending any side, it's simply wrong to say that this flareup of a long running conflict between Russia and Ukraine is the only cause, and a worldwide one at that.
Demolition was stopped on all servers, outside of the recent spike in energy prices and the coming shortage of semiconductors due to Neon shortages, the flareup in Russia/Ukraine really doesn't spread far past the EU ones.
I'm sorry if I didn't make that clear. I wouldn't like them to get punished as well. And just because it is on another server, it doesn't make my argument less valid, because there IS a huge problem for player housing and apparently it always has been.
If I had anything to say about this particular matter, I would've changed the rules so that you can't have more than 1 FC house +1 player character house on your account and then refund the person who's owning an entire ward.
It may be harsh to that one person (Even if it was more people owning entire wards all across all data centers) but I think overall it would make for a better experience for all involved if they just went to those people and say "You know what, you get to decide one FC and one player house to keep and we'll refund you the rest".
Also, i think they should've made 24 FC wards and 24 player wards to even it out.
I get you and others are tired of seeing "crying" on this forum but it exists just as much to talk about these issues. If you don't want to engage with this kind of debate, simply avoid threads where it's people talking about their gripes. This data is important.
Ballprince is essentially telling everyone who disagrees with their position to cancel themselves, so SE only sees one side. Perhaps ballprince should take their own advice, and quit responding to posts that he or she disagrees with. But what are the odds that will happen?
SE gave ballprince and the other housing malcontents easy access to housing by providing apartments.
But that's not enough for them: they feel entitled to a house.
They are not, and never have been.
Have seen any where first two that entered the lottery ever. They could have fixed the housing problem way back in Heavensward their was no excuse back then to not have. Pretty sure if they wanted to they could get the equipment to upgrade their system. The company I work for had no problems upgrading all the servers and computers for all their store not long ago. Company I work for is pretty big with 1000's of stores.
While I cannot say anything about server load, I agree. They should have fixed this long ago. Housing is a pretty heavily advertised feature, we just had a whole LIVE LETTER on IT and basically it alone. Sucks that something with so much interest vested in it just straight up is going to be inaccessible on packed servers.
