Market Board and Inn in Radz-at-Han

I pretty much agree with op. Especially since radz-at-han is somewhere in the middle of nowhere, because otherwise I can't explain the astronomical cost for teleports to the city with MB and an inn.
Also the stupidest placement for materia melder npc.
The worst endgame hub imo. Eulmore was much much better

I mean…they’d not going to deviate from the pattern. That’s not how FFXIV works. This game sticks to a strict script for its content. People really expected a market board in the tomestone area? Sure lorewise it’s a marketplace but gameplay has always and will always trump lore.

Eulmore hated your guts during the story (for most of it) so it made sense + it was basicly sin city

this time it makes no sense what so ever because lore wise radz-at-han is a merchent story that respects us MORE THAN SHARLYAN does during the story until the very end.

Its a gameplay reason not a lore reason. If you put everything in one city, players abandon the rest and the game world looks empty.

I'd be very upset if they removed Gerolt from this. The running gag of him being enslaved to Rowena but also secretly loving it (both ways) is pretty great. I hope they get married one day. I think you misunderstand the creative part here. Other games will throw random things together and that is really easy to do. I can come up with new lore in a matter of seconds just like anyone else but to build from existing lore, that is different and powerful. You're really going to tell us that the writers of Final Fantasy XIV has poor creative vision? Really?

How exactly creating faction with back story tied to the expack "random"? What other MMO you played that do this, please let me know so I can avoid it.

And ever since 3.0 we had stopped receiving any kind of explanation about what the new tome are, all we know is each patch cycle we get a new color of tome to collect with like ... minimum context behind it. If you call that creative, I would question where you standard is. Each expansion pack you're given a handful of line where the new Rowena girls basically "oh hey we're setting up shop here come do business!" with the same tired old memes 10 years straight, yes I would call that poor creative vision.

I mean, we went to the first in 5.0 where the Allagn does not even exist, yet we still somehow collect their tomes. Yo, that's not even poor creative vision, just straight up laziness. :(


The story between Gerolt and Rowena is nice but we already knew about it since like what, 6-7 years ago. At this point it's the same old thing dragging out ala Naruto 999th episode. So yes, I would call it uncreative.

If there was an inn and marketboard in Hadz, there would be no reason to go to Sharlyan regularly besides for story or if you personally like the place. Since tomes are at Hadz, if there was a marketboard and inn, almost everyone would be there all the time. I agree it's probably to help with server congestion and make the cities look more lively

Sharlayan was originally intended to be one of the starting cities in 1.0. While it would make way more sense to reverse Sharlayan and Radz functions, especially considering the role Sharlayan is playing in the normal raid story as another point, I understand why they did what they did. Doesn't make me like it though. By all accounts it makes way more sense for the world trade hub to be the one with the market board as well as an inn for traveling merchants, while the smart people city that plays a role in the normal raids would deal in highly advanced battle gear.
