Actually, come to think of it the Conjurer's in the Twin Adder quests have been mentioning something about raising a "Carmine Hedge" around Gridania which, according to them is the most powerful hedge the Conjurers can summon. It surrounds not only the borders, but everything from the sky above to the ground below in a great spherical magic barrier.

But somehow we keep getting thwarted by the damn imperials. >_<

Damn conjurers slacking on the job I'LL raise the hedge by myself!

It has already been confirmed that wherever I am Dalamud will land so the weavers of the LS are trying to craft me padded armor. ; ;

I'm pretty sure somewhere in the PDFs it says that the huge change to Eorza came from something bursting out of the ground. So I imagine a huge battle against this Dalamoon will take place right before 2.0. This thing summoned by the Conjurers will put a stop to the Garlean's impact using Dalamoon, but it will also cause an unintended apocalypse, not by the impact of dalamoon but instead by the uncontrollable power of the Carmine Hedge or whatever is used to defend Eorza.
