Anyone else smell the irony in talking about how generous the inventory system is and how easy it is to not have inventory issues in the same post where they talk about having to use an additional service account to bypass the terribly limited inventory systems.

It's fairly clear from this and your posts on other topics that you're a big fan of premium content. I'd recommend a F2P mmo, you can spend thousands and be a god there. A few houses and alts in a subscription based game seems like wasting your time.

I love when people outline absolutely horrific convoluted workarounds and user experience gymnastics and basically saying "it's terrible but it's not impossible to use" as a way to say the situation is fine, or somehow people are at fault if they think it's a problem. Some major lapse in social awareness if they somehow think others have not grasped ways to deal with FFXIV's awful UX. Just because you can Macgyver it to work, that doesn't mean it is without fault, and it doesn't mean the developers shouldn't address it, and it doesn't make it above criticism.

Don't have storage problems myself but I'd make much more gil with another retainer so I'd appreciate that.

Since a few people mention mailing to alts. The original excuse was "blah blah gil sellers". Clearly that has not eliminated gil sellers. They might as well just let us mail stuff. Or in a dream world a shared bank to move stuff around on a data center. Que the "blah blah server limitations" excuse.

It would be ironic if your average player would handle as much materials as I do, but that's not the case. Hence why 560 slots is generous for any player who's not into dominating a server/DC's entire marketboard or handling a couple dozen of houses. Additional storage beyond that point is merely for convenience, lazy players or those with ADHD, who must have their items sorted a certain way. I guess you didn't see the subtle difference.

Why spend thousands when I can spend less than 100$ darling? Housing is a profitable investment, so I don't think you are in any position to tell me what is and what isn't a waste of time, when you chose Botanist as your main class on here. Since you obviously didn't know, DOLs are the epitome of wasting time.

I know it might be hard to grasp the concept, but you people might want to start appreciating what is given to you instead of whining constantly. If you lack inventory space, stop keeping every useless item the game throws at you. Don't want to? Use an FC chest. Don't want to? Use an alt. Don't want to? Spend 2$ and get yourself an additional retainer.

Look, the inventory system isnt nearly as "terribly limited" as you are saying. It's actually not bad at all if you can get past your own hoarding.

Do you NEED multiple stacks of Iron Ore? Iron Ingots? Iron Rivets? Iront Joint Plates? No you can probably just go down to Ore

I am the worst of the worst with hoarding. My retainers all need to have X crafter job materials, but I cant help myself! However, I don't point fingers at SE and blame them for my hoarding problem.

I have 2 accounts with max crafter and gathering on BOTH and my own free company so I know all about it. But its nowhere where it was and nowhere near "terribly Limited"

I like how all implications are people hoarding onto crappy materials that can be farmed up whenever.

That's not the case for me. I don't actually have any materials stored except a handful of commonly used materials from time gated nodes, taking up like 5 whole spaces.

A lot of my inventory is full of gear for glamour. Gear from dungeons, Trials, Raids, gear from Eureka. Gear from quests. Gear for all 18 combat jobs and some gear for the non-combat jobs.

With a sprinkling of gear for leveling up classes from 71-80 that I've accrued.

400 spaces in the glamour dresser is not enough for the plethora of items that currently exist in the game with unique appearances (Including recolours of items that affect non-dyable parts)

The rest of the space I'm using is for materials for Relics, as I'm slowly making my way through all of ARR/HW/StB relics, but as such, a lot of the stuff takes time to amass (I.e. Tons of poetics required...)

The fact is, back in ARR SE deemed 2 free retainers sufficient for people's use. Whilst also noting that some people may use more than average and so have paid for retainers.

Since then, there have been 3 expansions, all increasing the number of items in the game. There has not been any update to the number of retainers.

If it was generous, there wouldn't be any paid for additional retainers, because it wouldn't be necessary.

The irony still stands that you were talking about how easy it is to maintain storage space yet and how generous the storage is, yet also at the same time mention that not just additional retainers but an additional account entirely is required for managing "proper" inventory limitations.

I know it might be hard to grasp the concept, but these forums are for players to give feedback and have discussions.

Players are well within their rights to bring up any percieved issue they might have, no matter how relevant it might actually be.

It's up to SE to decide whether it's merely "Whining" or if it has merit. Not some random whale with a holier than thou attitude.

I have one for mined stuff, one for herb'd stuff and one for baking / alchemy mats and demi's. And then theres one for materia, scrip materials and some miscellaneous stuff, and one for relic weapons, relic mats, squadron found stuff, and current era timed nodes.

Theres SO MUCH STUFF now. I keep talking myself out of buying a 6th retainer because i can use alt fc chests to store another retainer worth of gardening/housing overflow.

you'd be amazed how many different ore/sand log/base cloth mats exist in the world when you add in the glam silks you need multiples of to make anything, scrip bits you need hundreds of at a time, and other mats you cant just manufacture as needed. I keep 0 vendor sold items and only convert from the base items as I need it, and thats still multiple retainers worth of stuff.

14's lack of shared bank slots, or anything that can allow passing stuff back and forth on the account is kind of absurd at this point.

Theres mmo's that turned 21 this year that had that built in multiple generations ago.

Having to juggle at least 1 alt fc and the entire leave/join process to do it is no bueno.
