I don't even know which is which. They both merge into an undifferentiated continuum of crapness for me.

That's true for you and that's okay. Storytelling is a subjective thing and as you don't like these 2 dungeons, there are people who doesn't like HW, SB or ShB. Matter of taste, there is no good or bad.
P.S. The Praetorium is a second, "tower-designed" dungeon, the one where you fight Nero, Gaius and Ultima.
Don't do msq roulette till they increase reward more again or make changes. As long as queue times are short se will not make changes.
More over I'm ok with the vote but if you skip cs you get 1 / 4 the reward.
Is it weird that I miss the dialogue options Gaius used to have in Prae? When the cutscenes were made unskippable, they all defaulted to the "...." answer, but you used to be able to pick at a few points. It made about as much difference as any other dialogue option in the game, but it was still a nice touch.
They were a nice callback to the opening cutscene of ARR, when you're riding the wagon and the driver is asking you (rather similar) questions. That said, if I remember correctly from when they were still in place, the answers Gaius gave you didn't change AT ALL. No matter how you answered, "Hmph. How very glib." Probably because it was voiced dialogue, and they didn't want to record multiple responses.
I seem to remember that he skipped the "glib" line if you told him that you fight for Eorzea, since the next line is questioning it anyway. But it's been a while.
The best solution will be to retool these two dungeons into solo instances, with MAYBE ultima weapon 2nd fight + lahabrea as a trial.
Barring the development time that would take the current solution is best. If you don't want to deal with the cutscenes...just don't queue. There are plenty of other options in this game to get exp and tomes. If you don't want to deal with the cutscenes, just do something else, anything else. Other roulettes, individually queued for duties, fates, whatever. It's super easy to avoid the cutscenes. Just don't queue for main scenario roulette when you don't have the time or patience for them.
I always wondered why it was like that! Was my silence meant to be glib? Now I know. Thank you!
